Australia seems to be importing the people nobody wants, even their own country. They come here for a better life but want to change Australia to the shit-hole they came from.

Personally I wouldn't give kids man made chemicals to sort out a natural chemical imbalance they already have thats been diagnosed. I think it would lead to problems later down the track being on drugs from an early age. 40 or 50 years ago you didn't here about adhd or autism until someone unleashed it on the world, now everything a kid does that we used to do as kids is labeled. Maybe they should look at the food that is consumed by the kids as to the causes of their labeled diagnosis.

First thing , to become rich is to put some of one's own income away ( save it) also known as the long way. Second thing , borrowing someone else's money is a quick way of becoming in debt, once you are in debt , in is near impossible to become rich. Borrowing more money, and investing it, is no guarantee of getting out of the original debt , and becoming rich. It may end up worse off and owing more debt. I think it is amazing how many parents are not prepared to be parents and want other people to work for them. More and more areas. It's quite common in boys, My son was the same. Except we didn't have those in that sizing back then so it was bed liners and washing each day . There is a nasal spray that can help to slow things down, but basically in most cases it's simply hormonal,( the hormone responsible for concentrating the urine overnight is less present than it should be) and you will find once the 12yr mark kicks in or soon after ,. It will just stop. It's very frustrating I do remember ,but it's important not to let your child feel like it's an issue, They can't help it, It's not from trauma and it's not going to help restricting drinks before bed either. There are plenty of tips online . Don't bother with the bell and pad system either,, all it does is wake the child up when they wet with an alarm and interrupts their sleep often twice a night, more! .. not worth it . I liked the show on the ABC where they took the schoolchildren to visit the nursing homes. The people living there got so much out of it & the children also benefited from the intertactions.

I stopped doing all the little things, like buying birthday and Christmas gifts or reminding her son to call her for special occasions. I spent many years working as a Palliative Care nurse and in Aged Care situations as an RN. Assisted suicide is a normal part of end of life care for some and terminal sedation is a practice that has been practised for many years. I remember an incident in a public hospital I worked in, and we were warned not to discuss it, but it was more than a decade ago. An elderly man had very bad frontal lobe or Dewy Body Dementia. He was being cared for at home because he had been previously admitted to other Nursing homes in and around this area, but due to him flinging his fists around and utterly refusing personal care because he no longer understood what these strangers were doing to him, his physical health was suffering and they wouldn't have him back again. He wasn't getting nutrition, hydration and as he was doubly incontinent he was getting bad excoriation on his privates and the pain from this was causing more negative behaviour. He would refuse tablets and spit them out if the nurse DID manage to get them in his mouth and consequently he wasn't even getting the antipsychotics and calmatives he needed so he could recieve adequate care. So we have a human being who is just a mere shell of who he was, and that was an absolute creep as we remembered him from long ago, who's family could no longer cope, were out of resources and had ZERO other options for care. So the decision was made with his specialists, local GP and family to bring him into the hospital for terminal sedation. We were NOT obliged to care for him and we had the option to refuse to give the medication that would take him away from this earthly plane of existence. From my recollection it took about 72 hours for his heart to stop. He hadn't been the man he was for some time and his family had already grieved that loss some time ago. All there was now was relief and thankfulness that neither would suffer any longer. I'd be interested if anybody has a suggestion as to how THEY might have managed this situation if THEY had been this man's family. I suffer pain all the time and sometimes it's so bad that I wish it was all over. Nobody has the right to tell me that my suffering isn't bad enough to warrant me thinking of a permanent way out. I take painkillers but you become used to them after some time and the efficacy reduces. But people should be able to choose to end their lives on their own terms and we show animals that kindness. Why NOT humans who are suffering?

We have found a few insurance companies renew policy's without instructions to do so. My concern is that they used an expired credit card and I have no idea how they managed that because not only would the expiry date have changed but another number of 3 digits would have changed also so your bank should have declined it. If it were me my first call would be to my bank to ask why they had approved the transaction, my second call would be to the Ombudsman because it isn't on. All the best.

Hi APB, we have a vacuum sealer & frozen food lasts so much longer when sealed this way. We have a great vege garden & we are fisherman, so have lots on hand in the freezer. It is also a good idea to have an infirmary of what is in the freezer. Our frozen food is also dated so we know to use the older food first.

It\u2019s strange this discussion coming up. My mum died last Sunday. I\u2019m not after sympathy, but I know people care. It was a blessing for her as she was very poorly and it was a huge relief to see her suffering end. About nine years ago I answered my mum back for the first time in my life. She would not recognise my first grandchild as family because she was fostered and in her words not mine \u201c she isn\u2019t blood\u201d. This hurt very much, this beautiful little girl was my first grandchild and I love all my grandchildren equally. I kept my distance for a while but got abusive phone calls from my brother and nearly had to take out a restraining order. My mum changed her will, and I had no say over her health as she got older and deteriorated. She was put in a nursing home, which was very comfortable but she kept asking me what had happened to all her belongings. I didn\u2019t know. I visited her and we spoke and I love her. My psychologist said I would never get an apology for the hurt she caused me but I forgave her. Sorry for the ramble but thank you for letting me write.

My family is large as well. What we do is meet at the local park, lake or nearby beach. Everyone that wants to come brings a main and a dessert to share at a communal table. The children are catered for by water activities and a playground. Adults mingle with whomever they want. At the end (most of it is paper plates\plastic cups) cleaning up takes seconds. The burden of catering is not left to a single person. And our rule is no presents. Having fun, bringing food, participating in activities...that's the present.

Yes, I agree, dogs with those killer tendencies towards cats often go onto to attack people, have seen this many times when working with council dog pound. Often they can not be rehabilitated and have to be euthanised, sad for all concerned. More restrictions, visits are needed for dogs such as these and this savage dog that mauled your cat on a lead is a public safety issue. More than often it is the owner at the cause of the problem with encouraging aggression and non socialisation of dog at fault. There are alot of people involved in dog fighting now and these people couldn't be trusted to look after there dogs and need these animals taken off them

I am single and have been all my life. I enjoy it. It's given me time for self growth. Most of my friends got married within 2 years of leaving high school and took any low paying job they could to pay the bills. I became a teacher and travelled all over the country I live in. I play several instruments, write songs and have a band that we preform at local events. I own my own house, 2 investment properties, a government and a private super, shares and a good size chunk of cash in the bank. Being single DOESN'T mean being lonely. I have great friends and have had relationships along the way. The freedom I have to do anything I want whenever I like is amazing. I don't need to ask anyone's permission to do anything I feel like doing at the drop of a hat, and money is never a problem. When I look at my friends and how deeply they are in debt to the almighty credit card I thank God I'm single. And as far as never having children...well I'm a teacher that is surrounded by children and I have 6 nephews that think I'm the greatest uncle ever due to the gifts and adventures we have had in the past. And still having adventures today with their children. Life is good.

Hospital emergency departments and aquired brain injury wards are testament to people either not using them safely and responsibly, or being injured through no fault of their own. Road users with licenses see first hand people flouting rules including those riding e scooters or e bikes. These machines can travel up to speeds in excess of 40km per hour on footpaths and roads. Not in favour of them.

Looking out of the window and seeing two Black Ducks fast asleep in our garden. We believe egg laying is going on in our hedge which happens twice every year when the same pair visits us. Last year we escorted about 18 ducklings and mother off the premises and down to the river.

We are born with a self because we have a personality right from birth. That self, like other beings, evolves and develops over time through various experiences as well as our own genetic predispositions. Just as the self can expand over time, it can also deteriorate just like organic and non-organic matter. Does this mean that the self is just an illusion? Absolutely not. If a piece of metal melted due to extreme heat, would you then say that the metal never existed? Of course not. We know that the same matter can move from solid to liquid to gas or any combination of such changes. The self should be considered in the same way as it shifts from one form to another to yet another.

I do not know if you believe in mediums or not but I talk with my family through her, as my wife and brother do every 6 months or so, this is a fun and spiritual hour and a half sometimes two, my brother passed almost a year plus ago and at our local, he has his pic on the honors shelf, we buy him a Bundy shot every time we are there so he can have a drink with us, on our last visit with Liz [our medium] who asked that we buy him a scotch instead of the Bundy he wants to drink what your drinking, How she knew that I have no idea that was something that my brother and I do, another time I had bought some gorilla glue for a bottle cutting project, but I could not find it, we were talking about something else and Liz says before I forget you gorilla glue is in the black and red jar on your table so don't buy any more its expensive your mum says, when I got home there it was, I have so many stories like that, I believe your family stays with you, i constantly talk with them ,they may be gone but they have never left,i you honestly talk with them you will be surprised what you hear

I got my black belt in TKD, with Palado TaeKwonDo Academy in a small town, it took me 15yrs (as I had two kids during that time so a few breaks), but I kept returning (with my kids who are also Blue belts atm. I paid for it myself. I dealt with the petrol, the time, whilst working, and eventually (as the boys got older); the whinging!! IT WAS ALL WORTH IT AND STILL IS! Pay for it yourself, it teaches you/your kids self-confidence, patience, perseverance/ persistence! Govt should do their job; Roads, Rates, schools etc.

I went to Bright,Victoria. A small village town half way up Lake Mountain. The most picturesque little town all year round back then.My ex husband and I were travelling by car ,6 hour drive. I was very pregnant with our first child. 40 degree heat in summer. We had a minor accident with the car in the first 15mins,no apparent damage,so continued. We should have turned back then. The car broke down more times than I can count. Luckily we had insurance that offered roadside assistance. By the time we arrived we had spent 12hours on the road in the heat and had the car towed the last 80kms. All accommodation was already paid for,but left us with very little money and bad sunburn. Still wasn't horrible,it's was truly beautiful. We ate ice-cream,walked around town, waded though the Oven's river( which is melted snow and freezing any time of year). We had some food we brought with us. Funny that everything we planned went wrong,but just being there was refreshing. Young love..we didn't care,had nothing,no money,no car. It didn't matter.

Supermarket paper bags !!\ud83d\ude21 l hate paying 25c for just one of them and then they break by the handles or spilt on the edges ..especially as the staff are usually useless at packing them... Overpack or careless .lt's a business You should be giving us free bags to take our product home in after you've made a nice profit from us ( massive profits compared to other stores who give you a free bag!!); .. and you'll also get free advertising as we walk down the street with your logo on the bags eh? Then any surviving bags just collect in my cupboard expecting to be bought to the shop again one day ..mm never going to happen. Too bulky ,,and annoying and will not be in a good enough state by the time they get walked home again. If you keep your eggs in the carton in the fridge and turn them over every week, they won't go off. While they sit a bubble forms in the top of the egg and this is when they go bad. In olden days the ships would be at sea for months and the eggs didn't go bad. The movement of the ship stopped the eggs going off.

No, I restarted life at age 35 and now I am 75 years young and have been forced in 2008 at age 59 into an early retirement. I do online surveys to augment my stipends of SS and pension each month (Less than $1700 of which rent is $700).

I suppose I got a bit of a head start on everybody else. Earlier this month I moved interstate back to sunny Victoria( well sometimes it is). I left a d.v relationship with basically my clothes and my youngest son and his things to be with family. So decluttering DONE. Now just focusing on my health mental and physical as well as slowly saving to replace all I left behind. Pretty proud of myself at this point as I thought previously the only way I would get out was in a wooden box. I look forward to a better year than many more previous ones.i know for sure it can't possibly be worse. For the first time in quite I while I love my life. Hope everyone else out there has a reason to smile this coming New Year and sees us all better off than the last.

I think Christmas has become too comercialised it a religious Celebration PLease try to keep it that way or the meaning will be lost

Not really. Bank of Mum and Dad has always existed. I think the expectation is what has changed. I know my generation would only ask our parents for a loan if we were really in dire straits...and then pay it back. Now, I think there's generations of children who expect their parents to help and actually gift them the money.

I have a niece that has mental issues which are quite severe to the stage where she has attempted to take her life multiple times but luckily failed however she has also very much mutilated herself at the same time.She is now 21 and still has major relapses of self mutilation.Many of our family have tried to reach out to her over the years including myself and she has even been in respite care institutions.It is really sad because she is a lovely young lady with so much potential to make something of herself but over here in NZ the mental health system has failed her as well as many others and that is only half the problem.Many so called professionals said there is nothing wrong with her and it is all to do with attention seeking but this was recently proven wrong as she has now been diagnosed with border line personality disorder which is one of the most commonly misdiagonsed mental health conditions out there.

While I don't have a lint problem at home, I used to work at a university that did have a real problem. The lint bunnies grew so large that they hissed at the students passing by. I also heard that a student was actually attacked by one, but there is no proof.

Well, here in the USA our news revolves around the election later this year in which our choices seem to be an invalid, a felon, and a guy who says a worm ate part of his brain, so yes, this is affecting me and not in a good way. You guys have room for me down under ?

i spent 7 years in the infantry in the '60s, where i learned that fighting for country was the farthest thing from the truth, we were fighting for the folks that built planes, tanks, guns, uniforms, ammo etc, to give them exorbitant profits, Viet Nam, where we learned how to profit from war at the expense of our young folks, not all, just the ones their daddy couldn't pay his way out of it

Parents should teach their children as we were taught years ago with strictness but the do-gooders have made it very with all the political correctness that a child can't get a smack or be chastised & so they are completely overriding any discipline. for goodness sake parents do not want to maim their kids, but it is time for them to discipline without being charged
