Well I really hope not but a long time ago my parents would eat Chinese at a shop some where in Brisbane any way the shop was caught enticing the local street cats and they served them up as chicken. Yuk so my parents do believe they have eaten cat, not by choice of course. The shop was closed down obviously. A woman I knew was really upset by some people that lived near her as they were trying to catch ducks in the local park. Setting traps for them and yes using them as food. I am pleased we don't have wet markets here in Australia but I am sure if you knew where to look there could be a black market and you could get what ever you wanted at a cost. We use and abuse animals for a lot of things and food is only a part of the whole situation unfortunately. I do eat meat don't get me wrong but I do feel for the animals especially if we treat them so badly. Big problem we have now is eggs, a dozen is now going to cost us $15 because we aren't allowing caged hens. All hens have to be free ranged or barn laying. I was a little put off as I will refuse to pay that much for eggs. An alternative to using an egg/eggs in a cake is 1. Apple Sauce 2. Banana and 3. 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of vinegar (per egg) 4. plain or vanilla yoghurt. Maybe when they realise some people will refuse paying that price the price will drop but only time will tell. We do have alternative solutions for this problem and we are not reliant to them for our needs. We will adapt and find other ways. I like eggs but I will slowly learn to live without them.

The best part of my day is after I have fed my cats, made the bed, had breakfast, done the dishes, swept the floor, dusted, done a couple of loads of washing and hung it out, ironed, either walked or used the treadmill, had lunch and cleaned up, pulled a few weeds, gone shopping if I need anything, fed the cats, prepared dinner, checked my emails, done the dishes, checked the bills, had supper then lights out. Then I may be able to go to bed without any cats, in which case I am able to sleep in any position I want. Tomorrow is another day.

I STILL feel, while there are people in our community who have fought for our respective countries and who would have given their lives for it, that the RESPECT dang well better be there!. I ALWAYS refer to someone over the age of 40, I'm 57, with "Sir or Mam". I use the age of 40 as a baseline as all of my children are under this age. I truly believe that it is their, our elders, DUE to be treated with a title showing that we respect their age as an identifier of a history and life experience that, we hope, we shall not endure! However, if they state, as the gentleman I spoke with yesterday did in giving his name and permission for me to use it, THEN and ONLY then, will we be on a more familiar first name basis. Years ago when I was doing a stint in the Geriatrics Department of a hospitaI I had called an older lady "Dear" and was quickly admonished for it. I was told that I was NEVER to call someone that due to it being disrespectful and to refer to them as Mr or Mrs Smith or whatever their name on the wall behind them indicated and if there wasn't a visible name then Sir or Mam would do. I UNDERSTAND that times change but some things need preserving, at least for a few more decades! I don't hold out hope though for the general public what with "pregnant mother" being relegated to the annals of history and "birthing parent" being used instead. Or, even worse as I see it, "breast feeding mother" now known as "chest feeding parent". The word "mother" is forbidden in places and I don't just mean in the movie "A Brave New World"! The use of language identifies us as individuals and changing this, as is intentionally occurring now through the Big Tech monopolies, strip's us of that identifier. I was flying from AL to Sydney when I was in an incident. The guy next to me started jiggling. At first I though he was listening to music, then realised he was sick. I called the stewardess and told her. The next thing was the classic announcement "is there a doctor on the plane". They found one, and he and the stewardess started trying to help the guy. I notice the intricate and perfect details in flowers. No matter where they're from in the world flowers are perfectly made with identically sized petals and intricately dotted or .... We don't eat at a dinner table . Unless it's out at family 's for an event . My son was one of the worst fussiest non eaters as a child so to avoid all the stresses and the direct eye contact of sitting across from eachother ... we ended up with the t.v on for distraction and he had his little stool pulled up to the edge of the coffee table while I relaxed on the couch. Scandalous yes I know ,but it was the only way mealtimes wouldn't end up with a plate of food thrown at the wall in frustration. :/

I read of a couple who spent the whole year cruising from one boat to another, according to where the boat was cruising too. Now that sounds lovely, meals all cooked & prepare for you. I would do a cruise that would take in Samoa (not the AMERICAN side) as it is where my husband & I renewed our Wedding Vows & we had a marvelous time. We started off at Fiji for a week then we went to Samoa. I even had a Puletasi (traditional wedding dress) made for me who was the lady working in the souvenir shop. She also happened to be a seamstress in her "spare" time. It was lovely & my husband wore the traditional dress code for a man. We still have them, can't say that they still fit but we still have the photo's & memories of that wonderful holiday. We did that trip back in about 1995 & next month we celebrate our 65th year of being married.

If I could effect just one person's life for the better in any way, and impact them enough that they strive to do the same for someone else, then i think I could feel content with my life. For me the true highlights of life are found in the small things, the things most people don't even acknowledge exist or have no appreciation for at all. To be more specific, for me, Music has brought the greatest aspects in my life, as a drummer I had a really good teacher that enabled me to be able to teach others in the same or similar ways. I found value in the pets ive had growing up, in particular a Burmese cat, Oscar, when I was age 14, he picked me as his favourite out of my whole family and made me a cat person, I now have my own cat named Oscar and he means the world to me. I thrive on helping others and have always lived to learn lessons each and every day so that all the rare lessons ive learned can be taught or passed on to someone else.

It is not well known. ..The process is... try to get as close to the date , month,year of your required memory. ..Then find songs/music from all styles, genres, current at that time. ..select some that you remember and some that you would not have listened to back then. So, it should be country,jazz,pop,rock, soul,classical and so on. ..You need at least 50 songs/music in that time space. ..Randomise them, select a time in the day when you will not be interrupted. .. Headphones are good too. ..and listen to all of them. You will be amazed at the outcome. .. It happens during, after and even weeks after. .. .....And, an added bonus, you can actually feel a euphoric high for the rest of the day.

I agree that you are living a clean healthy life but you are wrong when you say the majority picks on the minority as it's quite the reverse. The worst thing ever pulled was against my Dad. It would never enter his mind that someone - especially someone who supposedly loved him - could or would ever be so cruel. He and his girlfriend at the time had been talking their future and whether or not they should get married and move in together, selling one of their homes. They always decided no, they both liked their homes and couldn't agree on who would sell. One day this woman came to my Dad and said she's thought about it some more and she will marry him and sell her house. He was happy that they could be together and he could keep the home he'd built for his family. Once she had him totally hooked and getting excited about the prospect of this she goes, "April fool!!". He was humiliated! Shocked! Angry! This was the worst thing playing with his emotions like that. I'm not sure that I've forgiven her for it just yet because I still get angry at her for that when I think about it. Their relationship always had that scar on it and he never again asked her to marry him. They still went out a couple of times a week for a while but he started introducing her to new people as 'my friend' and not 'my girlfriend'. I never liked April Fool's Day because most people don't know how to prank well... putting sugar in the salt shaker is okay but nothing harmful in ANY way... physically, mentally, emotionally, etc. It's just mean and unacceptable.

The Bible reads at John 15:13, "No one has love greater than this, that someone should surrender his soul (life) in behalf of his friends." At 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 the Bible tells us what love is, and what it is not. If we all followed Bible principles, there would be no hatred, no wars. At Colossians 3:14 the Bible reads, "But, besides all these things, clothe yourselves with love, for it is a perfect bond of union." Jesus Christ loved mankind so much, he died for us! And, in relationships, if everything the man does if for her, and everything the woman does is for him, they will have a happy, peaceful relationship filled with love! Compromise! ;-D

I no longer like to use the word respect. To me respect is earned not given as of right for position. I use the word courtesy. This came about because of a headmaster at one of my kids school said he "deserved respect" as he was headmaster. It didn't matter that a decision he had made was not correct for the situation [not just my opinion it didn't directly affect my child so no bias] I always show courtesy as stated above respect is earned

As a general statement we supposedly live in a free society, and we are meant to have a policy of free speech. We have seen during the covid nonsense that free speech is just a myth and censorship runs riot. Regardless of one's attitude to the nonsense we were fed by all sides of the various debates the unfortunate truth is that those who were doing the censoring were the same vested interests who were making obscene profits from the situation. Yes there should be guidelines and rules as to what is acceptable but during the so-called pandemic some extremely highly qualified medical professionals and scientists were censored for having views that didn't accord with those of the ones who were profiting. chef on tv? why wud anyone beleive ANYthing they are saying, they are trying to make a living. they r not the real source of truth. almost all foods have an amt of protein, so are just more easily digested than others. Animal proteins are very hard to digest, and can't be used by the body until they are broken down to amino acids. (this takes alot of energry away from other thigns the body has to do) ...its why we feeel like we are going into a food coma, after a huge (usually protein meal), all energy is diverted from all but essential body organs. Most plant proteins don't take nearly as much to digest, except for beans. Not only are they hard to digest, they are also hard on the kidneys (like animal proteins are). Bottom line is, if you still want to eat meat, cut down substantially. We do not need the amt of animal products we eat these days. U will save ur kidneys and be much healthier. Kidney disease is fast becoming No. 1 killer. This protein business is largely a myth, promoted and driven by, give you 1 guess by who? Dairy and cattle industries. *who'd of thought* I ALWAYS ask who benefits from the information you are reading? - if someone benefits financially...then chances are the information is BS. anyways my two cents worth....

My husband and I barely had two nickels to rub together. We felt it was wrong to expect our families to pay for what we wanted. We paid for 90% of it ourselves and a few things were gifted to us. We only had 30 people at the wedding and this included the minister and Bishop. We only invited the people who were most important to us. We had a sandwich buffet after the service.

Sounds great but, in Australia, where we have 4 Large Supermarket chains, Aldi, Coles, Foodland IGA and Woolworths, the instant any of them, particularly Coles or Woolworths, they are both big but not as big as Foodland IGA and compared to the rest of the world minnows when compared to the likes of the 12,000 stroong Aldi shops, try to do anything the self-appointed Great Protectors of the Public, Australia's majority Foreign Owned Media and the Taxpayer Owned Australian Broadcasting Commission accuse them of bullying, of standover tactics. Coles and Woolworths simply cannot win, never mind that they are Australian, they employ 100s of 1000s of Australians and unlike German-owned Aldi they keep the money they make in Australia and pay their fair share of Australian Taxes. We don't shop Aldi because of their dishonest advertising.

No, it is just another day. Actual date for Christmas for those who think of it the way it was intended should be October but it was moved to December for religious recruitment purposes (to convert both pagans and people of other faiths into Christianity). Orthodox Christmas is in January (except for the Greeks who do it with the Catholics in December. Why should you get excited when people tend to behave even more horribly and more entitled in this period? How can you get excited if you are working in this period or you live in a town that will get invaded by drop in holiday makers (which means lots of loud and obnoxious parties)?

Doctors are only human - When I was 60-62yrs I had been feeling less than 100% and had been to my doctors multiple times, with a ton of tests - Blood test just about every visit. After more than 12mths of this I ended up in A & E Hospital with very low body temp and was having "Rigors attacks". After many hours the Hospital staff confirmed I had UTI. Doctors NIL - Hospital 1. Doctors DONT GET IT REAL all the time (Just sometimes)

These days people want the highest wages they can get and are no longer interested in what they are doing. Politicians are in there for what they can earn not to look after constituents and teachers are no longer interested in teaching their pupils a love of mathematics or English or science. There was a news item recently about a nun who has passed away...I think she was 114...to pad out the news story they found some footage of her at her last birthday party...she blew out the candles..and clearly said, in front of a crowd of well wishers...when asked a question "I just want to die"...they clearly didn't notice in the editing...so they left that bit in there.......you only need to live as long as you are enjoying it....

Definitely. I was sitting at the back of the bus with my best friend when these 2 guys got on and one sat next to me. I was reading a comic and as I turned the page he said "I haven't finished reading that page" so I let him finish reading it. He asked what I was doing the following Saturday and I told him my baby brother was having a Birthday party. Apparently he looked for me on the day and couldn't find me. The following week my friend and I were walking in town when a bus stopped, where they aren't meant to, and he got off the bus with his mate. We started going out that day. I was 13 and he was 15. When he actually saw where I lived he told me he used to live at the bottom of our street and saw a young girl collecting the newspaper from the front lawn one morning and couldn't believe it was actually me. We got married when he turned 21 and we were together until he passed away from cancer just before his 63rd Birthday. It's been almost 5 years now and I still miss him. Especially his big warm hugs.

This is a bit of a mixed up discussion topic. Mental health issues and domestic violence are two different things. Mental health issues do not lead to domestic violence. Domestic violence is about power and control, and can be exhibited in many ways, not just physically, and not just by men towards their partners. It does however frequently lead to mental health issues for those who have experienced it or been exposed to it. Getting adequate and timely support for mental health issues, for men, women, and children is not as easy as people seem to think it is. There are long waiting lists to get the appropriate help, and sometimes it can be difficult to even understand, yet explain to another person what the problem is. I agree that boys are a bit confused as to what their roles in society are meant to be at the moment. The rules keep changing, and people keep telling them that they are \u201cbad\u201d, because they were born make. Especially if they are white.

honesty is a big deal with me if people ignore you more than likely they have a reason for it but if they don't have enough respect for you to fill you in maybe you should wait for them to come to you

Excuse me!? I think you will find most long distance truckies are the most considerate and consistently safest drivers on the road. It is the impatient arrogance and rudeness of other road users that cause the accidents and other issues on the road! These giant machines weigh an awful lot (tons) and they require both room and space to stop their vehicles and/or turn corners, especially suburban intersections. They also have large areas of 'blind spots' where they simply cannot see cars & other vehicles - just like blind spots in a ar, on.y bigger. If you have any concerns re truck drivers and their driving, might I suggest you do a little research and take a bit more caution on the road to ensure your own safety and that of the truck drivers, too ??
