At the top I would expect to find a Torii Gate and then a path leading up to a Shintoic temple or a Buddhist one. I converted to Shintoism many years ago.

Any with a railing. Went to the Great Wall of China. Very steep and no railings. No idea how people with walking problems get up

Why use a lot of energy climbing the harder steps to get to your destination. You wuld be too tired to enjoy the view or scenery around you. I chose the easiest - no twigs or branches to trip you over and no ricketty railings that may snap at any moment of pressure on them to send you hurtling in a ravine. The nice modern steel steps with good sturdy railings and easy slope for me to navigate.
