| I don't usually write or post stories on social media as I am fairly skeptical about them. On this occasion I feel compelled that I should because I am sure I am not alone in this type of experience. If anyone out there has please feel free to leave a comment or reply. As I was sitting in a well know mall or shopping centre in the city area I was approached by a young male who mentioned the name Elon Musk whom I have heard and read a little about. No doubt he is a wealthy man doing whatever he is doing. I have no opinion of him as I don't follow him on social media nor is he a figure of interest to me. This young man whom I know the first name was offering a proposition: if I let him cut my hair I have the choice of 1) choosing a iphone as a gift or 2) a mystery box which gives me a chance to get $10,000. The catch is I have no say in the choice of hairstyle. The way he pitched it to me from the beginning was slightly different: in the line of : would you like to get an iphone or $10000 if you let me cut your hair. Most people might go for the iphone so did at first as I already have a mobile even though not an iphone but it does the job for me. So I said I will go for the mystery box even though the thought of getting the $ 10000 is slim. He asked me to choose between 1 or 2 and the style cut would be whatever the number says. There was no mirror where we this haircut obviously all the shops were closed at this time. But I could feel what he was doing. While he was cutting my hair he kept chatting to me asking : how long have I been homeless or are you homeless? I found that strange because first of all I never told him I am homeless or not, and I certainly don't dress like one! Perhaps he was just guessing or assuming I was because I was lying on the couch at that time. Story cut short, in the end well you can guess it was not the kind of hair style that s woman will opt for first up. Some men might. Okay I agree to the fact that he can cut my hair but came the so called mystery box gift, It was nothing more than a small plain cheap shop bag with a small amount of tissue in it and a bag of candies ! I recalled seeing the bag of candies when he opened his backpack earlier to get his phone out. There is a big difference between the iphone as a prize and some tissues and a bag of candies isn't it? The point I am trying to make here is that even though I did pick the mystery box instead of the iphone I still think a person of such wealth and reputation in the business community can do better for a mystery box than a few tissues and a bag of candies. Now I understand how he came to be so rich doing whatever he is brilliant at! Unless he has absolutely no idea what the prizes are for this promotion. Why would his name be mentioned if he has nothing to do with it. Shame on him! |
