tough times

We are going through yet another tough time in our family-extremely serious. I am curious-what do you draw strength from when things are scary, bleak, or overwhelming? I myself am a Christian, and I do believe prayer helps, but I also keep my friends and family very close. Not trying to be controversial....it's on my mind right now. It's awful when you are having it come from more than one direction. That's it. Thanks and take care of yourselves.

not sure what you are dealing with, but try and be the best you can be, look to the future, not the past and try not to dwell on what got you there but on what will deliver you out of whatever problem you are facing, there is tons of help out there you just gotta ask and I'm sure someone will point you in the right direction, good luck to you nancy hopefully you find a way

Well, Nancy, whatever is hittin you hard right now, I'm very sorry you are going through such turmoil. I'm Christian too and the only place real peace and coping comes from is our Father in Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ. Christ knows your heart and situation because He knows you intimately and there is a reason behind what you're going through. You've got to keep praying and putting one foot in front of the other and cry and let your pain out that way if it helps. I'm going through incredibly tough times too, so I can empathize with you and feeling like you have nowhere to turn and that your burdens are too heavy. My husband is young and term ill. He's dying before my eyes, my sweet loving husband who is a wonderful man, which is hard to find these days... but that's beside the point. I just can't stand the thought of losing him soon and the wrenching my heart will go through. I have a severe debilitating disability myself and it's difficult to care for him when I'm having such a hard time. But it is a privilege to care for him and have the little time I do have left. Just remember that you are not alone. There are people in your life that I know must love and care about you immensely and don't want to see you suffer. Try to put good things, (books, movies, positive talk) into your head so you are feeding your soul positivity and not negativity. Stay close to your God. He's there, I know He is. I wish there was a magical answer to going through tough times, but really there isn't. I only know what I try to do to help myself through mine. I find that focusing on other people and doing acts of service for others always helps me to feel better and focus on others who are hurting too. I will remember your name and what you've written here and include you in my daily quiet time that I take to talk to my Heavenly Father. I don't know you, except what you wrote, but I assure you, your Heavenly Father sure does. I am your sister in life. Please know you are loved. Peace and clarity be yours.

Oh my dear, my niece went through that and lost her husband a few months ago, now it is my sister's husband :( I do pray, and we are as close as possible while not sharing a physical space. I feel heartbroken for her, but she is strong. I shall keep you in my prayers.

I sort of do my own version of that-either when I am out for long walks, or working in the garden :)

Not sure what sort of tough times you are talking about...and I am not a Christian...but hang together...support each other totally...and have conviction in yourselves.....that's the best I can do Nancy

I think that is perfect. I was just so upset last night, got it out of my system, and was able to have a very good talk with my sister today. Much needed for her-she can tell me anything.
