Countdown e-voucher
Katzeye10-Apr-23 01:40 pm
Hi all just wondering if anyone that redeems vouchers through gift pay has actually redeemed a Countdown e- voucher? Because I am thinking of doing so now that I have accumulated enough to cash out.If anyone has,I am interested to know how you redeemed this in store because I see you can't redeem online with them.I did ring their customer service the other day but I think the woman was confused and thought I was referring to a gift card.I don't have access to a printer either which doesn't help.

I have done it very recently. (My first time.) I looked for a cashier that might be reasonably close to school leaving age, thinking she would be more tech savvy than I am. She was, although it took a few minutes to sort. There was no 'Oh, we don't take those' rubbish. So, just show (or pass) the phone to the cashier like it's a done deal. Good luck.

Awesome thank you for this :)

It's a supermarket here in New Zealand. How's it going Walter?
      • BLACK LIVES MATTERLachelle B
Hi Lachelle B. Appreciate the 'info'. I can't complain (Haha) - anyway, not on a monetary level :-))!
      • Lachelle BBLACK LIVES MATTER
Money isn't everything but it sure does help! Keep well Mr Walter 馃槉
      • Katzeye
Hi Walter over here we can redeem for a variety of gift cards which are in the form of an e-voucher and as Lachelle kindly explained, they are a supermarket in NZ and with the rising costs of food I thought I would cash my vouchers in wisely this time instead of buying stuff I don't need.
      • APBKatzeye
I just take cash...everything else is just too hard!
      • KatzeyeAPB
Takes too long on Rewardia to get a cash payment lol,my last one took me nearly a year to accumulate so now I just redeem when I reach $20 for a gift pay voucher.Would be great if we could get PayPal payments instead.

Hi Katzeye. Continuously rising food prices in the USA (where I reside) is beginning to get SCARY...

Hey Walter,it's absolutely crazy here too,I just paid NZ $8.20 for a loaf of gluten free bread the other day and believe me if I could eat a normal diet I would but I have coeliac disease so can't even have a crumb of wheat lol
      • Luv urKatzeye
celiac disease is common. Whatever company that makes the bread you eat, is killing it in profits. And I've never read about "countdown" so can't help there, but I'm going on 900,000 points, which was my goal so I could bank transfer for $500 cash. That's been my desire since I signed up with Rewardia. I hope you get your reward without any hitches. Good luck.
      • BLACK LIVES MATTERKatzeye
see if you can find a recipe for gluten free bread online and/or check with a librarian at the closest library to you. Then do the math and calculate if is worth your time and your money to buy a bread maker. I have a bread maker.

excuse my ignorance but what is Countdown is it a shop of sorts
      • Lachelle B
It's a supermarket here in New Zealand.

Hey Katzeye, this is a great question. I had the same worry when redeeming and trying to figure out how to use the Countdown vouchers. When I have redeemed the voucher on the Rewardia website, I click the e gift card to open the voucher in another window on my phone browser. I usually keep it there and reload it before I get to the front of check out.The few times I鈥檝e done it, I present my phone with the countdown voucher on it. Each time, they mention they have never seen such a voucher before! But it鈥檚 just an electronic gift card. So they usually scan it, and get you to put the 4 digit code that鈥檚 somewhere on the e-gift card into the eftpos machine. Then it works like a charm!Oh, and you can only redeem it in-store. I hope this helps. Enjoy your vouchers :)
      • Katzeye
Hi Saskia thank you so much for this information it is a great help, very much appreciated and better advice than what Countdown actually gave me 馃槉
    • Chosen
I present them all the time at a Countdown store in Auckland and NEVER a problem as long at the code is on the voucher as also the pin number. I take a hard copy and not on my phone.
      • Katzeye
Yes I could possibly print out at local library but would prefer to just show on my phone but thanks for this info too 馃槉
    • Matt M 461986
Yes, I use them all the time. Can't use online unfortunately. Probably easier to save up to $100 then do a big shop through a manned checkout. Personally though, I tend to go almost every day and buy a few things in self service. Can never get it to scan properly, but I just write down the code on a piece of paper and enter it in then write the balance down when I get out to the car. Have to cut out the first 3 digits I think it is when entering it in, should start with 924701
      • Katzeye
Brilliant thank you so much for this 馃槉

I used mine in Christchurch. I couldn鈥檛 zoom in on the voucher barcode enough to swipe it until I selected Desktop Site from my Samsung phone menu in the top right corner.
      • Katzeye
Awesome thanks for this,I have an Oppo but should still work 馃槉

Thanks for all the good feedback, because I too am yet to use my E gift card at countdown in NEWZEALAND 鉁旓笍
      • Katzeye
I thought I would ask the community because you receive a much better response than Countdown.Pleased to hear it has helped you too :)

I have a Countdown voucher i chose for some points reward too.. but my printer is v low in ink and have to buy $70 worth of black and coloured inks for the stupid thing to print. So i am a bit stuck like you Annette. You can't do an online order for under $50 either i don't think.

Hi Mary C. Check online to see if you can buy discount brand-name ink cartridges online, amazon. etc. Seventy dollars is a lot to spend!

Bonjour mr Walter..comment ca va? Merci- bonne idee- oui tres cher :(
      • BLACK LIVES MATTERmary c
You might check with the closest library to you and find out - how to set up an account (using the library computers), and how much it will cost you to print out E-vouches, coupons, etc., using the closest library printers to your home - anyway - 'bonne chance'.
      • mary cBLACK LIVES MATTER
Merci and thankyou! I will venture from my shady hollow and investigate :)) Hope you are well and goodly.

If you are in Auckland it costs 20c for A4 size black and white printouts at the libraries and you don鈥檛 need to be a library member you can do it with a guest pass. I imagine other areas may be similar?
      • Katzeye
Hi Mary my printer doesn't work anymore and I can't really afford to buy a new one, I've accumulated $150 worth of giftpay vouchers so that would go well towards groceries.Apparantly you can't redeem the e- vouchers online which is stupid because it's still money for them.
      • mary cKatzeye
Thats so frustrating eh. Pity we not in same town- my printer works and you prob have spare ink..!!!! I remember in the good old days- i used to get real gift cards sent in the mail. It was so much better to take to a store to redeem than a piece of printed A4!
      • mary cSerena S 622582
thanks Serena..am in upper hutt- and library very handy :))
      • Katzeyemary c
Oh true Mary that would of worked out great! we could of even had a wine or two while we were sorting out my printer and your ink issue lol.
      • mary cKatzeye
now that would be funny- you know we would start yarning about things and forget all about the printer :))
    • Pato Lo Duck
It is a gift card, an E-Gift card. If you can download it to your phone you can scan it off there or if it won鈥檛 scan then they will input the numerical code on it, and then ask you to enter the pin on it. If you don鈥檛 use it all at once, you will have to keep track of the balance remaining because it won鈥檛 work next time if they can鈥檛 enter the exact value remaining on the card. You can also use them online via the numerical code and the pin. If you don鈥檛 want to go with the gift card you can also cash out to your bank account instead, but you won鈥檛 get so many bonus points if you do that.

I decided to look up Countdown online because I'd never heard of it before and found that it's a New Zealand version of Woolworths. It even has the same emblem.
        • Liane H
We used to have Countdown in oz ...Now we just have Molly pull your pants down
        • Matt M 461986Viola
Yeah, it used to be called Woolworths over here as well until a decade or more ago they rebranded and took the name Countdown.
        • ChosenLiane H
I call it Count Up now.
        • ViolaMatt M 461986
Redeeming is so easy with Woolworths e-gift cards in Aus now. Woolworths came up with an Everyday Pay app and you can put all your Woolworths and BigW gift cards on there and scan a barcode using your phone at the checkout which takes the amount owing off your combined gift cards automatically and applies any rewards earned at the same time. Quick and easy.
        • mary cChosen
yes and cover up the price with a Special sign with a higher price! norty norty :(

Yes my mistake I forgot Countdown was only in NZ lol,I don't go there very often but I'm happy to spend my e-voucher there instead of New World or Pak and Save

Wish it was like that here

Yeah it's like our Woolies supermarkets I have now worked out .. We used to have a T,v show here by the same name.* ( .Countdown).Showcasing Music's latest and best performers and chart toppers. . The very popular male host ( was named Molly) an Aussie institution ( legend) . He's just getting a little forgetful in his old age now ,unfortunately :/
        • KatzeyeLiane H
I think I know who Molly is just racking my brain here lol

Strange that you can't redeem an e-voucher online. All I can say is that if you need to print something, your local library should be able to help. I use Amazon because it takes less than a minute to redeem a gift card to my account, and it's so easy to do.

They used to but they don't anymore here in NZ,thanks Robert I probably will end up going to the local Library to print one out.We don't have Amazon as an option here unfortunately otherwise I probably would look in to that too because that would be great.
