They think for themselves, throw a stick and a dog will fetch it, a cat will wonder why you threw it away if you wanted it and leave you to go and pick it up.

  I play fetch with my two cats. They love tiny bits of paper rolled up and thrown about but when they’ve had enough they just shake their back legs and saunter off……lol

Cats can be very independent - but also very loving! Compared to dogs, cats can be left alone for hours, don't require "walking for exercise" and are less expensive to feed and groom than dogs.

Sorry to bring sadness…. We had to put down my daughters cat last Thursday. Suffered from Kidney disease and meds over time weren’t working. Cali was in pain as well. I got really attached to her over the 18 years.

They are like mini people,but with fur. They can be cute or aloof,playful or grumpy. They have a sense of self,uniquely autonomous and independant they can disappear for hours on end and just walk in the door whenever they choose. Better than a t.v. My favourite childhood memories are from watching my cat and dog( best mates) play together,they had a system of opening the cupboard door to get to their treats. The dog would push up against the door to undo the latch and the cat would get his paw in to swiftly open it. Many times we came home to biscuits all over the floor. And our cat loved tinned spaghetti. Nowhere to be seen thinking o.k I can have some now and as soon as the tin was opened the cat would be there. So funny watching him suck up a long piece of spaghetti . For entertainment value alone they are priceless.
