It seems that our government will soon be allowing us to depart Australia. How long before you plan to holiday in an overseas destination?

How about all of us here on Rewardia come to visit you one weekend Ron and rock up at the Hidden Garden bar on a Saturday night demanding endless supplies of Bintang, sausage rolls and TS....??

Ha ha ha, it's a good idea. Hold on, Wun Hungloe, the rewaria gang is coming. Yay! Some place warm, a place where the beer flows like wine (Lloyd Christmas)

it will be great to have a beer with all of you when you finally get back. We had 5 new arrivals in the bar today.

Most likely a loooong time because the government can't let go of this idea they have to protect everyone from the dreaded covid-19. All this rot that is going on has proven not to work, but they still insist on more and more control of people's lives. When I went overseas some 37 years ago it was a breeze, but today there are too many rules, and too many things wrong about the world now.

Indeed he did. Often kept his end up while others dropped around him.

I don't think I would not for a while yet. 1. because we can't afford it and 2. there is a slim chance to nil I will get my hubby on a plane, especially after he worked at an air port. He won't fly any where.

The Australian government announced that there would be 2 repatriation flights to help the "thousands" of Australians stuck here (Bali). Only 75 went on the first flight and 88 on the second. Of those around 50% went back to visit family and will return to Bali as soon as possible. No one else has shown any interest in going down there on a third flight.

I want to fly to Bali but I can't - I must stay at home for 7 days on return. It makes this vacation trip twice longer ~ around 7-10 days in Bali plus 7 days of home quarantine

spot on cobber, that is a real drawback at this stage. There is also some uncertainty about quarantine at this end. However the beer on Sanur beach is cold at the moment.

stupid comment there Grommie. About as crass as me asking if anyone has been burnt to death in bushfires recently.

It will be interesting to see if we get the same volume of travellers going overseas as before...unlike a lot of Australians...I'm biased...I already chose Australia as my home...I wasn't just born here....it wasn't an accident....I hope a lot of us have learnt that we have a fantastic country and there is plenty to do right here...we are lucky in a whole lot of ways....I'd really only go overseas now for an arctic adventure somewhere like Norway...I've got just about everything else here...even a whinging Croatian called Ivan..... how did that guy get into the country?

Yes and seven years to get one legally :) And was expensive as I went though an Immigration Lawyer as it is tricky to do it on your own. Each piece of paperwork costs.

, I am double vaccinated. The ironic part is that I can not return to Australia at the moment. There are no flights from here (Bali) to Australia.

When I first moved to Australia...I wasn't sure about a holiday in NZ...when ever you advertise your country you always just give us pictures of mountains and water...My son has now been there (we sent him out first just to make sure it was safe) and assures me that there are also people there and cities...so I'm very encouraged....he also said this "Its great...its just like a mini Canada right there on our own doorstep"......I think you should offer my son a fantastic salary and employ him to handle ALL your future tourism adverts......pass it on...it is bloody good copy!!...

I think it is vitally important that at some point we get together in a bar somewhere and sort out all the world's problems...BUT..if NZ are our sponsors..it is only fair that we sort all that out before we start with the Tequila...what do you think?
