Younger generations of males have no respect
Linda C12-Jun-24 03:56 pm
What has gone wrong with the young males of today. Another school embroiled in young men taking the faces/head photos of social media and doing an AI attachment of a nude body to them and posting so many on line.
Where has their common decency gone.
Lack of respect towards girls and women has become endemic in recent years. WHY......?
Are parents, schools, older generations not teaching them?
Are they just brats who think they are cute or funny?
Have men become so challenged by girls and women who are strong and educated they think this is their revenge.
What is your take on these childish but dangerous pranks.

these pranks suck and are ridiculous but they are not confined to young men i do some volunteering at a high school and have been privy to some of the things young ladies have done as well not just against boys but other young girls that might not fit in the popular mold it is a big problem in schools and police interaction I feel should have intervened but things are handled between parents and schools so i fear for the kids that are yes they get provided counseling but once these things hit the net its there for life

males have never had respect for females in any century - the longest ongoing war on this planet - is THE WAR BETWEEN SEXES - take no prisoners and shoot the wounded - it wasn't till the 20th century that females finally got the right to vote

Agree and now they are undermining what little we have. Why are we such a threat to men I often ask. I think some women go too far in trying to be tough and compete one on one but we are different with different strengths and abilities. We can compliment each other or draw on the others expertise without it being about one upmanship. I do not think all males disrespect women. My father was a wonderful man with a wife and 4 daughters. Other men in my life also were terrific. There were a few knuckleheads though.

Good question Linda. What has gone wrong? What's the definition of a man nowadays?

For me it is a man of good character, kind, thoughtful, caring. A man is one who respects his Mother, Sister, Wife, Daughter and any other person man or woman. Respects the views of others and will protect his family. He does not have to swear, drink or hit a woman to feel like a man as that is definitely not one in my opinion. Too many on social media are espousing these ideals that are so twisted but many young men and older ones are taking them on board as that is how it should be. I feel it has all gone backwards in a very short time.

Whilst this happens across all levels of society, this sort of blatant mysoginism is endemic within the upper echelons of our society. It starts in their entitled, priviledged schools and carrys on into their deluded corporate lives.

Are you serious that it is only a male thing - ALL genders across the spectrum carry out this type of behaviour in ever increasing amounts. Self entitlement is an upward trend all around the world.

I do not see girls taking 50 school boys (young teens), placing their faces on naked bodies in all sorts of poses, do you? I agree all genders do the pouty pose etc. but they are doing it themselves it is not done by someone else with a fancy IT computer or whatever they use and creating disgusting images. I think girls have to wake up and stop putting their faces and bodies out there for anyone to use at will. Parents should definitely not put their children on social media either.

One small part of a huge problem. Younger generations have no respect for anyone. Children these days have no respect for parents, authority, older people, look at teenage crime rates, no respect for others property. The list goes on. How many times do we see older people being bashed in their own homes for little or no reason. Respect for law and order is zilch..

Several of the most presigious boys schools in Australia have been noticed by their inflammatory behaviour towards females, including unfortunately, some of the masters. If this is encouraged in expensive private schools then of course it will also be present in public schools. Just when we females get some say in public life it appears the male ego has to rise to attempt to squash our voices and corrupt our photo images with the usual "filthy pictures".

We have been able to do this with photos (without AI) for over 30 years...anybody who is skilled can do this in Photoshop...so what has changed recently?....little girls now spend hours photographing themselves.. pouting and vamping it up...with their new phones and post them all over the internet...and little boys have easy access to to these..and pornography....and also now have software that makes attaching heads to bodies so easy that every moron can do this to a reasonable level....what's changed?...technology...that's all...if you don't want your head attached to a naked body stop posting it everywhere... in multiple views. different lighting and angles.. online....easy to use.....you know it can happen...just wake up and pay attention....if they made the software illegal it would stop immediately...

So it's the girls fault is it? NO. I agree, these girls that get on line and do the pout as you say is not a good idea but that does not mean someone who actually goes to school with them has the right to do this to them and maybe some of these girls are being photographed without their knowledge and then uploaded. I think it has to be investigated before one can say it's the girls fault if at all. In my opinion, yes the internet / social media whatever has gone way too far.

They should not have access to phones during school hours either...but as I said...if these boys had no access to the software to do this it would not happen at all...and its such a simple solution

I think the schools are all trying to ban phones but the do gooders come out and veto it. Time will tell who will be able to enforce it though.

making something illegal does not stop these things being used.

But they could target your rellies, they need a good dose of boot camp, that might straighten them out

I agree with the "boot". Those poor girls will live with this for the rest of their lives and it might cause many to have mental issues. I hope they get support from all areas. The boy/s who perpetrated this act should be put in jail. Let's show that this is not acceptable behaviour and consequences will be forthcoming and punishment given strongly.

If you are talking about the Grammar School in Victoria, a teenage boy was arrested then....released!
                ·
              • Linda CMopos
Yep and that is the problem. RELEASED. The Police keep arresting them and the judges let them back out and they reoffend within hours. What he and if others involved did is reprehensible with far reaching consequences for these young girls. Telling these young idiots they are naughty is not the answer.

That's right, with a huge sigh, if the judges wont do anything about it, imagine how the police feel? powerless! and the public in general.

People are fed up and are already starting to take matters into their own hands. The Police try but are getting disheartened also. How many times do they have to arrest these young thugs only to have to do so again and again because they are out on bail or have just received a slap on the wrist. The Judges need to wake up an do their job properly. If the jails are too full tough luck. It is not a holiday resort and if conditions are so bad these thugs might think twice when they get out.
