I identify as a grumpy old woman
Jeneral30-Jan-24 08:45 pm
Ok, so today I heard the story about the 50 year old man who, because he identifies as a 15 year old girl, has been accepted with open arms into a swimming team of girls aged between 13 and 15.
And...as if that's not insane enough, this 50 year old man (fully equipped with 50 year old man bits and functioning eyes) is changing in the same change room as his fellow swimmers.
So I ask the question...would you be happy to let your young daughter swim and change with a 50 year old man just because he "identifies" as a 15 year old girl?

Oooops! Grandpa may be getting over the hill there! I've heard of MAP (minor attracted person), but it seemed too filthy for my frame of mind to read any further.

Where do people get all this crap from - too many over active minds in play. Do you believe everything you read on social media??? No wonder my poor old golliwog from my childhood is too scared to show his face.

Nope. Unacceptable. It's OK if he thinks he's a 15 year old girl but he shouldn't expect to be treated like one in every aspect - expecting leniency goes both ways. How do the young girls feel about this and do they have a say? Situations like this could open up a can of worms regrading child safety.

Sounds like a social media story to me. Would not happen.

I think gender choice is ok but age cannot be changed. DOB is final according to birth certificate.

California Birth Certificate Laws. As of January 2018, the California Department of Public Health will issue a new birth certificate reflecting a gender of female, male, non-binary or (-) upon receipt of the appropriate documentation. No provider attestation is required

A person's gender identity may not always be exclusively male or female and may not always correspond with their sex assigned at birth. The majority of Australian states and territories already permit birth certificates that record an individual's sex as something other than male or female.

People should identify by the gender and date of their birth - where are we going with political correctness that we are letting people get away with such nonsense! We need to wake up to ourselves, take stock and provide mental health support and treatment (as/if needed) for people with strange ideas of who/what they are. When we allow them to go about unchecked, we allow not only them but many others to be negatively impacted like ripples in a pond ....

What a wierd story ,l just saw it myself. A lot were commenting as he drove away from an angry reporter , why is he allowed drive if he's only a young teen? Surprised no fathers had taken him out . It is punishing the whole young swim team, for one selfish man's own wants and beliefs. I'm not against trans but the age factor is horrific in this instance.

Yes same here, not against trans and imagine if a 50 year old woman identified as a 15-year-old girl and was allowed on their swim team, that would be crazy, too!

Yes ,the only possible scenario there would be down syndrome or severe brain injury ?? I know my cousin born with encephalitis( fluid on the brain) still has the mentality of a 10yr old at 50 and is very sweet but then again there's other groups usually would be available for special needs kids, / adults.

On another topic, I haven't thought about the Special Olympics in a while and went on their website and see a tennis player, Lily Mills, was selected for the Australian Open Persons with Intellectual Impairment Championships. Yay!
