The subject rarely arises but I have no shame in admitting I belong to The F-Generation - F as in Forgotten - that is anyone born before 1946. Some call us the Silent Generation and some may well be just that, bit Not me and my siblings. tell a pollie that you are of the F-Generation! They don't like it because they don't like being told the TRUTH and that is that they have totally, utterly and completely Forgotten all of us and would rather we were all dead!

I like interacting with people. I usually ask them to guess my age. It makes it more enjoyable rather than being too sensitive and be upset about it.

I don't mind people knowing my age, I don't feel old within myself, I remain active, I continue to have relatively good health, I see a lot of people younger that have not been kind to their bodies over the years and are now paying the price unfortunately

I like telling people my age because I still feel young so I figure they wouldn't expect me to be 41 but these days people are less shocked haha!

I have never had a problem telling anyone my age. Lying about your age to me is rather stupid. Why do it. It is just a selfish vain thing to do and denying your age is eventually going to show because no matter how much make up, ungents, creams, dyes, botox etc you body is still going to age inside and out and deteriorate

I really don't know why many people worry regarding the age. Because the age of the persons only mean the time their was born, just that. I'm 47 But the age is not too important as society think.

BTW, I was taught to never ask a woman her age, or her weight! And to avoid fights, never ask a man his political party or his religion! Lol

I remember when I was growing up - no one would dare ask an adult how old they were. I didn't even know my parents ages for a long time. I don't mind people asking me and I am 77.

I'm 60. And every second before I was dreading it like you wouldn't believe. And that I am...my life is now perfect. It's like a great weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I'm doing things like camping, fishing, traveling, playing drums again. I'm angry at myself for wasting so much time worrying instead of doing. My life started the day after I turned 60. Looking forward to many more year to come.

It's only people in the middle (and only some of those) that worry about their age being known. Many little kids will proudly tell you they are "4 and 3/4" or "I'm 4 next week". Similarly many older people will proudly tell they are 97 and a 1/2" or "I'm 102 next week".

No one is more surprised than I, that I am shortly to turn 78!. Who wuda thunk it? Not me. I was convinced I'd not make it out of my 50's...from the cumulative effects of poor diet, accidents and a host of risky behaviors.Thanks to Canadian Universal Healthcare, How wonderful it is to be cared for...almost in spite of myself...by a mix of medical professionals who daily and routinely, fix, transplant, advise, consult and heal less-than-perfect strangers. It never bothers me. I am 75 and the years are not the problem but the deterioration gets me. There are only 2 of us from my immediate family of 6 left and I am the eldest.

70-89 BUT you BE VERY CAREFUL if you ask this question whilst standing at the top of the stairs, as some else had done when I was much younger, as I'll be walking away and not be there to catch you when you fall!

I think alot of people ,myself included were brought up with it being more of a social ettiique. But age is just a number. Milestones should be celebrated as an achievement.

Age is one of those things that opens people up to being unfairly judged & sometimes discriminated against. It works at both ends of the spectrum. Older people assuming because someone is young, that they lack common sense or insight which is not necessarily the case. Likewise older people are often discriminated against in terms of employment. The underlying assumptions are that they won't learn new skills aren't computer literate & are threatened by change. Again that is also not necessarily true.So it is not always about "being sensitive", many have good reason to be a little guarded about their age. The other factor is why do you want to know? How is it relevant? How will knowing someone else's age affect your life?

I believe you are only as old as you feel and as the old saying goes if you don't use it you lose it. So get up and keep your body going. That way you don't feel bad. Start your day off with a short walk or just go up and down your stairs on your front porch or your back porch or just to walk around your house. Believe me, it makes all the difference in the world

I know supermarket check out operators no longer ask if someone has 'super gold card' [give discount to those over 65] as a few people objected-so what if the young person thinks you may be eligible-they are asking to try and save you money-if it works all the better for being reminded if not 'thems the breaks'

7 points for being 63. Age is just a number. I still feel 20. Might be a few grey hairs and creeky bones but I am still active and try keep up to date. I am proud of what I experienced over the years. Some cultures revere aging and care about their elders opinion. My Grandmother was my best friend and taught me so much.

I'm in my mid 60s. I feel lucky to be that age. My Mother only lived to be in her 40s, and my oldest sister early 60's. My other sister is 9 years older than me and someone thought she was my aunt. I don't think she liked it but I did LOL.

Just had a birthday yesterday and still processing how I got here.

I'll always be the baby, even now in my 50s. My siblings are in their late 60s :)

I don't mind saying my age...I receive compliments that I look much younger and that's got to be a good thing at 73.
