I PURCHASED A "STEAM MACHINE" JUST SO THAT I DON'T HAVE TO IRON AND IT'S ONE OF THE BEST THINGS I'VE EVER PURCHASED, IT'S AN INVESTMENT INTO MY BACK. I NEVER LIKED IRONING AND I DITCHED MY IRON MANY, MANY YEARS AGO, I DON'T WANT IT BACK.

When my daughter was three and I took out the iron and board she asked, with utmost sincerity "Mum , can I watch you iron? ...such a novelty in our home

Hell NO. I barely iron anything. I bought a new iron about 12 months ago for a specific occasion & would have been lucky to use it more than twice since then. So not I'm not doing someone else's ironing. Besides they could not pay me enough.

I don't have anything that needs to be ironed anymore. Last time I moved I think I packed the iron but have no idea where it is now. Will not buy anything that needs to be ironed also. Hate it.

Don't use it on them they contain Silicone which makes the fibres slippery so they don't absorb water well, if at all.

I could not do it, I was ripping tape off painted car wheel wells for 8 hours straight. Only for about two weeks before I quit and found something else.. the next job was at a plastics factory where they had 21 machines with different molds, so every machine varied and it was a nonstop job, that I liked! At least it was interesting and keeping very busy helps the time go by . I think people who work the most mundane jobs should get extra pay because it might seem simple to just do one task over and over, but it's mind numbingly horrible to endure eight hours a day five days a week!

I hang the stuff that usually needs ironing when I get them straight off the clothes line. Usually that eliminates most of the ironing.....sadly there is the odd shirt that needs to be. Generally this is once a year, usually Anzac Day (hubby's white shirt for his suit), but may be for funerals/weddings or other important events that require this attire.

Long hours 7 days hard work but it had to be done. At least money was coming in, I was home for my children & worked in my time. Couldn’t do it now. I suppose you do what you had to when you have no choices while raising your children. Beats giving them to someone else to raise which I will never do.
