Very few I resonate with and those have stayed with me all my life. Some are funny or have catchy jingles. Worthwhile..hmm. They are advertising,marketing strategies. In the sense that they earn a living and make millions for their designated company YES. In the grand scheme of things ...well it's not like they found a cure for cancer, so NO

Ads these days are mainly so idiotic that they are dumbing down the country. Many make no sense and the commentary is unrelated to the product. Funeral ads drive me spare. Ad blocker is great. During TV ad breaks is time for making a cuppa, loo break, feed the chooks, finish the vacuuming or ironing, dish up tea, stack the dishwasher, do some more of the crossword/sudoku, check Facebook or answer an email or text or even carry on reading the paper.

Some are so bizarre, one wonders what they have been smoking! Hate the Aldi ads.

I like the funny ones but not the ones that yell at me. I mute those and wonder why they made an ad that no-one would want to listen to.

They irritate me and once upon a time we didn't have then but now we are expected to pay even more not to have them. I must say I enjoy the Bing Lee adds on the radio. They are so corny but make me laugh.

Depends on the sense to you of the ad.

Some of the “ Valuable offers” are better than the feature programs………lol

Repetitive and annoying and turns me right off a product

There are some advertisements that stay with you for life. Whether poignant or just plain funny. One of my favourites is an advertisement for Cadbury Chocolate. It features a gorilla playing the drums to Phil Collins song " In the air tonight".

people who create ads do it for a living. Its worthwhile for them when the paycheque arrives!

2 Really annoy me! Sometime 15 between shows just over the top. Don't mind 1 or 2 but more than that is over the top. Occasionally a good one is produced, some haven't got a clue what they are on about. Guess only upside give you a chance to get a drink or go to the loo.

I don't watch tv because of the ads.

Who can not forget NOT THE DART.NOT HAPPY JAN.. The annoying one now is where all the pub crowd start singing Sweet Caroline. Makes absolutely no sense to me.Edited 06-May-25 12:39pm

Not happy Jan ! Some are simply brilliant. Most we have to put up with for revenue raising or we won't have our favourite shows to watch. Its just annoying there's so so many flashing all over our screens here on Rewardia for no paying surveys ( we make our own entertainment networks) and then all over youtube drives me nuts too. I think Voting adds are a waste of paper. Still I helped hand em out on Saturday. I found even though they think they're persuading the so called 25% of undecided voters, next to no one want's one anyway. Although I suppose the other parties had more success than me, so maybe it did get as high as 25 percent.

I watch ABC to avoid adds, other wise I am looking at the clock while adds are on. I never notice them if they are on the sides of a site of a computer screen other than a few seconds that means noting. At a cinema add take my attention just a minute longer. I can say adds are not designed for me. there is a different type of person in the world adds must be designed for. So if there is a survey about adds I just have to say no even if I saw the add I have no way of knowing if I did barely. Though I suppose when I was a child and there where no computers and TV was one of the only things we had, add's meant a lot more in those days. We even talked about them at school. So now when they perfect the art of sending personalized add's to every ones smart phone individually, they think they will have far more success. But they still won't get me because I don't have a smart phone. Although am I going to take notice of Adds about Neo this year, that freaks me out, the advertisers might get me.Edited 06-May-25 09:59am

Almost all adverts are utterly useless and pointless. They try to be arty-farty, tell a "story", etc. rather than actually telling you anything at all about the product or service. All this over-priced advertising nonsense simply means the customer has to pay more.Edited 06-May-25 13:09pm

I pay for them to go away and for all others, I just ignore, leave the room etc. I only watch ads I am paid to watch (in surveys).

I haven't turned on TV since 1980 and before that I only watched ad free ABC. And PC has great ad blocker so never see ads even on Rewardia, I move rewardia to left and ads are off screen. SO my life is not infected by ads

I remember the PG Tips ads with the monkeys, the cartoon KFC ad, Mainland cheese, Barry Crump and the Hilux, those were the days when ads were great!

I don't pay much attention to them and can easily forget them.

Way too many ads now, mainly record most things I want to watch & fast forward the ads when I do watch.My favourite ad was Louie the fly (Mortein) & I still remember the words

It's a job or even MANY, MANY JOBs. Some of them are really funny… I don't mind them.

I really can't stand the ones for pharmaceuticals - may cause diarrhea, blindness, rashes, irritation or death.....

If possible, I record my favorite shows, then fast forward through them, or I'll choose 2 shows and switch back and forth during commercials! Where there's a will, there's a way! ;-D

I can't remember them after 5 minutes. Unless it's something I want. How do we know a lot of these products or services are out there if they don't tell us??

As a survey taker, I have no choice. We are not allowed to block ads online nor can we choose to not allow pop-ups either. I watched the SuperBowl just to see the ads. I really like most of them.
