Moving house is such a pain

AT ONE STAGE 4 TIMES IN 8 YEARS(NEVER AGAIN)

6 different addresses between age 19 and 27, only one move since then

Moved once as a child.....in the last 25 years have moved twice...and in between those timeframes, roughly 8-10 times.

As an adult, probably 2x, so far.As a child, once.

Moved too many times as a child and as an adult. We even had tri and that accounted for a few with 4 different schools in the first 5 months of 1974. The longest for me in one place was 11 years, so far. Living in this place will be longer as long as my health last. So far this August will be 10 years here.

Literally dozens in 3 different countries.

I used to move every two years when my oldest was younger just to avoid her biological father finding us. Then I finally moved into this house and I’ve been living here for almost 16yrs.

I've lost count. Most of it was when I was married. I've been in this home for nearly 15 years and expect to die or be raptured from this home.

I have moved many times due to my husbands employment, and twice was overseas but we have lived here since we built the house in 1987. Can't stand the thought of moving and there really isn't anywhere we'd like to go. The new houses are small on small blocks of land and my cats like lots of trees so a move wouldn't suit them.

The one I'm currently living in is my longest - 25 years but overall I've lived three times in the NSW coastal area the rest in Sydney suburbs, including after renovating my parent's house so I guess it's really over 10 times I've moved.

Depends on the criteria for moving.I lived in a boarding house and moved as renter. Again in shared house and up the street. Moved again to live with a friend. From there to own unit. Then to here for 20 years

Sadly, my parents were financially irresponsible. We moved eleven times growing up and they were always renters.

In my life, more than I can count, I don't think I could do another one but thinking back its gotta be well over 20and the last 3 have spanned out over 10 years it is a lot of fun turning houses in to homes

1 lousy point for More than 10 times. I think that I am in my Unit now until I die. I moved in here in 2010 and I am now 78 years old and I don't have any more moves planned.

I mostly enjoy moving house, I have made some bad mistakes in choosing where to live, like going to Qieensland's Sunshine Coast where, unless you were protective gear you can't go into the sea because of the Stinger jellyfish creatures, nor can you walk along the beach in bare feet, unless you look down at the sand because those horrible Syingers can still get you.

I started out in Campbelltown—that’s where it all began. It was home, comfortable, familiar. But after a while, I needed a change, so I moved out to Homebush West. Closer to the city, a bit more energy, a new vibe. It felt like I was stepping into something bigger.Then, for whatever reason—maybe peace and quiet, maybe just life doing its thing—I ended up in Mount Annan. Bit more chill, a bit more space. It was a reset.But I didn’t stay still for long. Next stop: Auburn. Busy, diverse, full of life. It was a whole different energy—kind of loved it. From there, I swung east to Maroubra. Beach life! Honestly, that ocean breeze hit different. It was a total vibe shift, like I was living in a postcard.And now? I’ve landed in Artarmon. North Shore living—super convenient, nice and balanced. Feels like everything I’ve learned along the way led me here.

Moved at age 3, again at age 15, then off to college and study abroad... as an adult/married family, taught at two different boarding schools... have lived in our current home for 35 years and it will probably (hopefully) be our last before we scatter the ashes...

Since I was born...in 1982...I have moved 47 total times. The LAST time I moved was in Nov 2019 and have been in this same place since then with no plans to move, lol. I have owned a house in my mid 20s...I went through ALL that nonsense. I sold it, made a profit, and have rented ever since. I have now landed in a place my former acquaintance from high school owns...and my rent is low and everything is included except internet. And my rent in Nov 2019 was $960/month CAD...it is STILL only $999.60 a month. This is for a 2 bedroom apartment. For comparison...Nov 2019 I was looking at a bachelor spot for $625. That SAME bachelor spot today rents for $1450. This is what a fake pandemic does as gov't prints money backed by nothing, leading to MASSIVE inflation. Thankfully, my landlord DOES NOT rely on this for his main income, he works for Google...lol, so he don't need to jack up rents and has only raised my rent twice in 6 years.

went through 3 houses when parents together, then another 4 houses while I lived with my mother, then another 2 houses after that while living with my father, then I bought a house which I've been in for nearly 24 years. (Does not include other houses my father or mother lived in when I wasn't really living with them.)

If I add it up it comes to 11, since my parents kept moving after they broke up. or it could be 10.
