Definitely not, it's exploitative, ... My first thought was of the Cash 'Til Pay Day places that charge extremely high interest on a short-term loan. Sometimes people - myself included, beyond any fault of our own - live paycheque to paycheque and then the car needs a repair or your vacuum breaks and they/we just need a little to get us through for a few more days. The high interest hurts those who can barely make ends meet.

It is called the market rate. In my lifetime it has varied between 22% and 3%. The disadvantage of a long life!

We might also ask Is it ethical for All banks, in Australia not just the Big 4, to pay Interest on Deposits as low as 0.01 per cent, all the while they are charging Borrowers 6, 7, 8 and more percentInterest on their loans or 21 per cent and more on Credit Card Debt? In Australia when the Reserve Bank of Australia, RBA, raises the Cash Rate the banks within hours they Increase the Interest Rates they charge Borrowers, delay or refuse to increase the Interest Rate they give Depositor and then when the RBA Reduces the Cash Rate it takes the banks up to 3 months before they reduce the Interest Rate they charge Borrowers. Just who is being Unethical?

It depends where the interest is going to pay. If it is paying a high risk, then the interest ultra-heightens as well. So, the context and who is paying the interest matters in this case.

4. it changes. Is it a kind of gambling high interest over low interest. See where it leads. Lucky or unlucky.

Do you beLIEve it is ethical for all the major central banks, who are broke, to even be ALLOWED to charge YOU fee's to bank with them...when THEY are the ones who are broke in the first place?
Do you beLIEve it is ethical for all the major central banks to USE YOUR MONEY....for nefarious reasons, including laundering, trafficking, etc., to make THEMSELVES money with, while only giving you a shitty return...and STILL charge you fees to "bank" with them?
Do you beLIEve it is ethical for all the major central banks to be ALLOWED to print fiat paper debt...backed by NOTHING AT ALL...then give you said debt as "money", so when you spend it...it devalues itself?!?!
The entire banking industry is that little 3 letter word in the middle of believe, my friend. If ANYONE has to be"LIE"ve in something...anything...then they fall for that little three letter word in the middle of the word itself.
The whole banking system is a fraud and a lie, like most everything else. Why is it called "capitalism"? Because shady, clever parasites are CAPITALIZING off our collective ignorance.

....to KNOW is when you find truth. If you NEED to beLIEve in things, chances are those things are a flat out lie.

5 points for not being sure. All I earn on my checking account is 1 cent a month! ;-D
·

Why would you bank like that it is non-productive and who has a checking account these days anyway.
·
writerrochelleLynne M 633106
I do because my Social Security check is direct deposited into it, but I never write a check! I only get $860 a month, hence the 1 cent interest! My savings account is much healthier, though! ;-D

Not sure what you mean by "ethical" in this instance. If it is offered and you take the risk with your own hard earned money and get rewarded I can;t see how you have done anything wrong.

Can (or does) ethics exist in capitalism - NO - since the bottom-line is profits (over ethics) in any capitalistic countries?

If you make high interest it's none of your business
·

Is it ethical? I suppose so ,yes. You've made a choice on an investment type. Clearly a high risk one for higher ,faster gains.
lt could easily crash as quickly as it rose. Investing in ethical business models and stock markets would be the key factor determining whether your interest has been earned ethically, high or modestly?
·
Christine M 323842
Yep, and let’s hope those interests rates go higher for retirees, and those that will never own homes.
