Lack of respect and discipline means some don't care. Handouts also reduce self esteem and while handouts are often necessary it doesn't lead to self empowerment in a good way. The strong human need to be significant means crime and its media covetsge give power to those with low self esteem from other sources.

With corrupt governments, corrupt big business and corrupt legal system, what do you expect? Crime is already in epidemic proportions and will only get worse.

2 Stabbings, shootings, car stealing & house robberies have never been so bad. When are the law makers going to wake up, maybe these criminals should be sent over the the countries that don't pussyfoot around. A year in a Thai or Brazil prison would do them the world of good.

Crime rates are rising with people being stabbed almost every day and housebreakings and car theft now committed in broad daylight.

Not really sure, I don't watch the news on TV or read the newspaper.

Youth crime is out of hand. Stealing cars and police chaises, break and enter etc. what do the blind elks aka judges do. Now don’t be naughty children and go home. Next day at it again and court time. Go home and no bail . Do the crime it’s adult prison for you.

We are living in WW3 that is why crime rates are going up, it's just going to keep getting worse. The poltitions the elite they are the criminals in too many cases, but they can hide under money so they are innocent. Money it self is a crime. It is Slavery. I thought Slavery was no longer legal. The police are criminals in to many cases, still they are innocent if they want. If the bankers and the elites don't want something to be a crime then it doesn't have to be a crime. If the Jails are to small then more crimes have to get let off. If the Jails are to big more laws have to be made to fill them more reasonably. But then there is no one to feed the rich if they go and lock everyone up. So it has to be done with in order, the way the banks want it. However what if the AI's feed the rich? Then they won't need us any more. Maybe they can get the AI's to build Jails the size they need them and then crime rates will go up just so they can fill the new jails. Crime has been increasing more so with the teenagers

It doesn't seem like it's decreasing to me. There's a big mental health and opioid crisis going on, and unfortunately, there isn't the resources out there to properly address it. More police won't help, they need help from medical and mental health professionals.

Honestly, I don't know if crime is decreasing, or just not in the news so much anymore because of other things taking presidence? ;-o

Youth crime in Australia is a big problem. I think gaol time for the youth offenders and their parents are appropriate. Parents of offenders are to blame for doing such a lousy job of raising their kids and innocent victims pay the price.
