In my opion, nowdays, I would find a trade. Some are making bug bucks and most training programs last about 9 months. My plumber makes 150.00 per hhour!

BION I'd choose Alchemy which is a real albeit often misunderstood science much older than other sciences. Not just re the misconception of turning base metals into gold, alchemy has a single creed 'To gain anything , something of equal value must be lost or given'. The Elric bros of the anime Fullmetal Alchemist found out the hard way that something given to raise the dead (Their Mom) cannot be just a few drops of blood!

I agree I am too old to think about even doing it the first. Though had a friend's mother went and became a doctor after her children were grown and husband had died. It was something she always wanted to do. She was 91 by the time she finished.

Not much chance of me going back to school but if I did I'd study Psychology because I'm pretty good at reading people.

1 lousy point for Other, the most popular answer. I didn't go to college the first time so I definitely wouldn't be going back for a second time at this late stage of my life, 78 years of age.

I'm guessing that you want to have fun when you go through your "2nd childhood" and not scratching your head trying to work out what 2 plus 2 is??!!

A second time? Never had a first time. Left school at 16, got into the building industry. I've done alright without a fancy certificate.

6 for other, my first time in college was with the us army at 17 year old

3 points for 'Other' because I did not go to college. I barely made it through high school because, back then, they couldn't diagnose behavior problems in children. My teachers would write "Rochelle talks too much in class", on the bottom of my report cards, not knowing I had a disability, and needed help! ;-o

They still can’t cause they probably didn’t know about my learning disability or didn’t take the one on one time to teach me because I wasn’t learning as fast as the other kids so they just made me switch schools in second grade
·

I'm sorry, Emma. Because I used my left hand, I was forced to try to use my right hand but, guess what? I've been left-handed for all of my life! I'm 77! We are Strong Women! ;-D

Back in the '50s when I came to Australia the put the New Australians and "slower" Aussie kids in a separate classroom and gave us one-one tutoring and when we were brought up to speed went back to our own classrooms and were sat next to "smarter" ones who were allowed to help us when we got stuck and everyone felt good aout it, it worked very well. Not sure it this only happened at my school but felt so lucky that we had caring teachers!!!

Yes indeed. Not only was there so much to learn but also so must to unlearn or at least put on the back burner as could already read, write cursive in Hungarian and still can even though only did maybe 2 months of schooling.
·

Hmm? Mom is ambidextrous!?! And, you sound very intelligent! ;-D

Thank you. My great grandmother said I was a 1000 years old even before I was 4yro ... she taught me 2 things, rub garlic on toast as is good preventative for catching a cold and then my real age as I have just memtioned .. no-one ecept for me used to talk with her .. their loss, my gain!
·
writerrochelleMaria B 89860
You're blessed to have had her! I never met my dad's parents (he never even talked about them?), and I only met my mom's mom once (the day of mom's funeral), and only spent 5 days with my birth mom in my life. It's a long story. I started a book titled 'Chapters Of My Life', but it's stuck on my computer, unfinished. Too painful to relive all of the bad memories. 😭
·
Maria B 89860writerrochelle
Maybe by completing the book and putting out to the univers the words will set you free. Could offer the same advice to myself as people have bee at me to do the same, have over a 100 pages of verse saved on a USB but everytime I've attached it to the computer it cracks up and makes an angry noise .. so have probably to transfer it anto another USB without opening up the document. Trouble is keep writing new stuff and the compilation just stays on the backburner, plus some are in Hungarian so would have to translate them as well.
Anyway enough from me for now ... nice just chatting and listening to you views as well .. cheers for now, mbxoxo

Thank you for your encouraging words, Maria. My aunt wants me to complete it so she can read it! She's 92! ;-D

My school.had the dubious distinction of being known as the only Ski Lodge in Ontario that also grants a Degree. If I were to go back, I would Major in Klubische at the Student Union. Better attended than lectures, as I recall..and more immediately lucrative than an MBA.
