APB, about that paint that supposedly removes carbon from the air: University controlled tests have clearly shown that that paint removes only less than 1 % of the available carbon from the air. That is not nearly enough to make a difference.

I have been thinking about this lately so I did a bit of research. The particular seaweed is called asparagopolos. It is found in Tasmania. Things are progressing. They are great ideas - but if they were implemented the politicians would run out of things to argue about and travel around the world on expensive rorts 'guffing' on about themselves! Look how many goverments have spoken about 'fixing' the River system and done NOTHING!

Wouldn’t you say that most politicians have no idea about sciences, and wouldn’t understand these things. They are put into portfolios that are popular.but their backgrounds have no knowledge of how things really work and saying that feeding animals certain foodstuffs would be of the greatest benefit to the world, is probably a mystery to them. APB YOU ARE CORRECT

After watching an item about the amount of damage the environment receives from intense farming which includes farming salmon, I also saw an item on growing giant seaweed. Apparently if the the seaweed was grown around the edge of the farms, much of the fish poo could be absorbed by the seaweed which grows up to a metre/day. The seaweed would also be a fresh supplement for the fish. Haven't heard anything further.

Pigs have a negative result because they aren't ruminant (one stomach that consists of chambers) like a cow or a deer. Cows are attracted to seaweed because of the salt, just like a horse with salt lick. The issue is farmers are using 'synthetic' fertilisers to speed up the growing process of grass and we are talking decades. How to solve it? Don't taint their feed, give them occasional molasses which helps digest their food. I look at this along the lines of 'I don't recall lactose intolerant, gluten free...' in the 70s or 80s. Now a lot of things are here! Why? Man created synthetic.

Because there are no Votes in it and if the politicians don't see some benefit accruing to themselves they simply ignore it. Ordinary, and some quite extraordinary, people are quietly going around developing systems such as those APB mentions which actually work. Funding? You only get funding if you belong to the right political party and preferably the one which is in power. As we have seen people and organisations which have never even applied for a Government Grant have been givern them because they are in an electorate which is either a nice Safe Seat for the Political party in Power or one which they want to win at the next Federal, State or Territory General Election. If someone lives in a particular State or Territory the Government of which is not of the same Party as the Federal one, and they develop something which is, in this case, actually contributing towards addressing Climate Change the Federal Government, which holds the purse strings, simply isn't interested. It doesn't matter which of the major parties is in Power they are both the same.

Living in Canada, I have never heard of these things (except the seaweed). I would favour industrial interference as the main culprit. With Globalization and all that foo-fer-all I'm sure somebody knows about and is trying their best to either discredit the products/practices or just deny them entirely. Every once in a while the news reports something wonderful has been figured out and the you never hear of it again. Once there is money involved you can bet somebody will be protecting their stuff regardless of who gets hurt.

Great questions but I don't know the answer. I don't think the beings with power really want to save this world or it's people. They could definitely be using their position to push innovative ways to heal the planet/prevent further damage. A small (to them) paycut for every politician would surely remove the often thrown about excuse of cost. Their position of influence could be utilised to spread awareness, so lack of awareness/information isn't a viable excuse either. It costs money that is why. As for the seaweed it is an ongoing process where they have to work out how to grow it as there is a limited supply growing wild and will soon run out. They then have to work out how to process it and how much needs to be added to the cow food for the desired effect too much and it hurts the cows too little and it doesn't work effectively. This is ongoing right now and the research is still underway but right at the moment they have yet to workout how to grow the particular seaweed in large enough amounts as it is just one type of seaweed not any so they need to work out how to grow it on commercial scale then they need to workout how to process it so it can go into animal feed and not be a rotting mess on the top of the bag of feed.

Good question. Why aren't we looking at other ways in reducing carbon. Although what is going on in the world what ever we did would be counter productive because say a war would just put out more carbon then what has been reduced by. The fighting needs to stop. The world needs to get a long before any achievement can be measured and then maybe some good will come out of it but until then why bother because no other nation really cares that much about reducing carbon or do they? I haven't seen or heard of any thing mind blowing that is going to make a whole lot of difference. No countries are working on any real solution because if they were they would be forcing things into change. Not just jacking up the prices because they see fit and saying it is to help a company reduce its carbon foot print because has it really? I doubt it very much. All that has done is made more profit for the company.

The reason I am not doing anything is that I have years of experience doing nothing and very good at it.

The production of Methane by Cattle is actually at a loss of energy, about 10%, to the Cattle and results in lower growth, so farmers have something to gain by limiting such activity whether they are concerned about climate change or not. Reporting of such mundane things it not a priority to any news outlet in Australia so don't expect to hear about it's ongoing success, but be assured if it's a failure you'll certainly know. It's the volume of garbage attached to this Forum topic that concerns me. Global Warming is the greatest hoax ever foisted upon mankind. The Climate has been changing ever since the World began. All vegetation needs CO2 to survive. Electric Vehicles are the greatest rort of all time, I'll stick to my Internal Combustion Engines thank you.

There are a multitude of simple and effective solutions for a multitude of ongoing problems across the globe, solutions just like the ones mentioned here, unfortunately, solutions of that kind tend to mess with the profit margins of the rich and greedy who are quick to purchase the rights (whatever) to them all and bury them as deep as possible so that the $$$ from all the current ineffective measures just keep rolling into their already overflowing bank a/c's...The trend is changing in favor of the more sensible solutions but it's slow going and will most likely be some time yet before we see common sense overriding the greed of the 'elite' and their ongoing need for more $$$ at the cost of the planet and everything on it...

TPTB don't want us eating meat or dairy foods of any kind. They want us eating micro proteins which are created by mushing worms and bugs in huge vats, adding only God knows what chemicals and flavourings and feeding it to us. This is happening NOW and large factories are being built globally being owned by some of the world's richest men, like Bill Gates for example with his "Beyond Meat". The new coming digital wallet and a new measure of value isn't going to be money in the traditional sense but will be based on carbon credits. These work for the individual who spends more than his/her carbon credits through the month and will require the individual to have to buy more credits from someone else. But trees WILL be planted! There are currently enough trees globally to absorb all extra carbon from the atmosphere but the Elite want more chaos NOTa solution. At present they are destroying the farms in places like Texas and 10's of 1000's of farm animals which now have to be euthanasia because their hooves and teats are burnt off from being run through vy flames that scorch everything they touch. The same PTB don't want humans eating REAL food anymore because its nutritous but their "solvent green" "phud" instead. It's easier to use weather manipulation and directed Energy Weapons like DEW and raze an agricultural centres to the ground and then buy the whole lot back from the farmers for pennies on the dollar. Another rort is "carbon capture or sequestration" farms which are HUGE and require vast farming land to be stripped of the topsoil and huge pipes placed underground to store the carbo so the carbon doesn't destroy the atmosphere, allegedly. The 5th generation wars going on today are designed to bring in the "global order" that powerful people have been talking about for decades. WE, humanity, is the "virus", or so we are told but right now we stand on the precipice of AI destroying humanity and the millinials being the final generation of homo sapiens. I wish people would leave the animals alone. We are the culprit for global warming. Planes run on fuel. Will they ever stop that. The fumes from the planes are damaging to the atmosphere. The more homes they build the more trees are going to be destroyed. The Population continues to grow. Migration requires homes for people. Ships on the ocean and the damage they cause is anyone doing anything to stop that. Everything in our homes is damaging the earth.

I feel like they just want to build more homes on farmers lands and feed us fake meat. I don't think the government want people people to be self sufficient and be able to take care of ourselves. They want us to depend on them so tbey can control us and have us all live in there 15 min cities.

I agree with your point APB. This whole planet, the individual countries are doing their own things for the sake of doing. That's why I am always wondering about the doings of so called world bodies. They have no voice to collectively implement plans for combating burning environmental issues. I Don't know why? Some have no idea what critical stage we are in! The rash atmospheric conditions will very soon destroy humans on this planet. If we are all collectively taking uniform decisions to protect our environment as soon as we can. I think even though Australia was the first to discover this seaweed it is still undergoing tests to make sure it continues to be safe to both the animal, the humans and the atmosphere. Too many scientific discoveries were rushed in and become disasters either to humans or the environment etc. I guess it is go slow to be sure at this stage. I think the actual cost of producing the sea weed is minimal so that cannot be the reason for not implementing it. I have not heard of the paint but what a great idea that is. Still, again, cost involved might make it prohibitive. Another discovery is the kelp forests do more good than all the trees in the world so they are trying to save them now. Hope it is not too late. We have a few farms who are also carbon negative. Makes you wonder when scientists have been sprouting all this climate change for many years but no one has really been serious about doing anything except bringing in higher electricity and such and charging every one of us more. Corporations are making billions and I sometimes think it is all just a huge con.
