Lee S12-May-22
With the push for green energy all the rage over the past number of years, have you put up solar panels on your roof?
Why or why not?

I rent, why pay to improve someone else's property?

yes have 30 plus 2 tesla batteries. which mostly keeps three of us in power all year, including charging hybrid car. The electric company has a peer to peer system when can sell electric to other users at better price than company pays. due to peer to peer am in credit most of the time, sometimes it gets used over winter for the gas fire.Would like to see mandatory for all new builds to have certain amount of alternate electric. even just solar assisted hot water makes difference-that was my first experience with solar. think they need replacing in approx 25 to 30 years-long after I've left this world

No. I rent and live with a lot of trees around so it would be difficult to have them

We are leasing them since the cost was so high. Still save lots of money and only pay PG&E about 6 months out of the year!

No, too expensive for me and little or no return for the outlay. 35 years ago I did have solar hot water . Everyone will eventually get it or mostly everyone and then they will find another way to hit us with more costs. They cannot lose out on so much money.

I agree with Rhonda D - too expensive. I don't think I will live long enough to make it cost effective. Of course, if I moved into a house that already had them I would not complain.

Yes and they cost me a small fortune...$16,000 cash. Now you can get them heaps cheaper and pay off in your bills. Electricity companies have also dropped the feed in tariff way back BUT my bill used to be $1500 every 2 months now its about $200 and I only get a bill for about 6mths of the year, due to feed in. No professional could explain the outrageous $1500...I think the cats must have been playing games on the computer all night while I was asleep LOL
