My daughter recommended I try Rewardia over 6 years ago. At first I wondered why bother as I almost always got "timed out" whatever that was but even old girls like me do find some surveys that let us earn a little and some of the comments and games have certainly given me something to smile or think about from the other "ancients" like me but I don't think I could rely on the money I've made from Rewardia to solve any money issues I might have.

I think they need to ask questions more about your household and such before they cut you off. I have custody of my 12- and 13-year-old Granddaughters and I help to care for my 3 yr. old Great Grandson. I buy teen clothes, make up, personal items, diapers and toddler clothes and shoes.

I find they are a waste of time, been screened out when you’ve completed it or the error screen comes up. Then you go to do something about it and a maintenance message comes up. Don’t do them anymore

Yes I agree that age plays a huge part in surveys. Once I put my age or that I'm retired it's goodbye survey. I completed 4 surveys in 12 days after clicking on all that were sent every day. Pretty sad.

Rewardia is for fun and a bit of interaction....I use our rewards cards for both Woolies and Coles, get 10Per cent off each month as have a woolies mobile......your points do add up and regularly save heaps. Also, as a telstra customer for NBN, you get points when you pay your bill, so usually a couple of vouchers for shopping each year. I do surveys constantly so yes I do wonder after I put down my demographics including age and are screened out whether it’s ageism. But there’s enough ones that have me go through because of my age that it doesn’t become a major problem. I dint like the fact that most of those targeted at older seniors tend to always be about finances and super and investing. And I am only a poor older citizen without any assets.

Once you are retired and self funded you need to be able to manage your money in order to get by. I enjoy surveys but find that as you age you get less. I find it annoying because you complete your profile that includes your age but they still send you survey's that ask your age then tell you that you are screened out. Why complete a profile if it isn't used?

I always thought it would be nice for someone to have a survey site just for seniors. It's so dumb when they ask your age (76) and then ask if you are expecting or plan to be pregnant.

Look for used lottery tickets and scratchers in the convenience and grocery stores. Enter these tickets in your state lottery for points to win prizes and sometimes cash. Join other survey sites. Rewardia is the best one though. Go to garage sales and find new or like new items to give as gifts when the time comes. Shop at the thrift stores for clothing and other items. Some give you a percentage off if you donate. One day a week is senior day with percentages off, depending on where you live. Take like new items to a consignment shop to sell. They will give you a percentage of what it sells for.

I used to make jewellery and was lucky enough to have that sold in a shop however that failed miserably due to covid days and my friend shutting up shop because of the ongoing rising cost of living, simply can't compete with the likes of Temu etc.. I am hoping to get back to my jewellery making and sell online in the very near future so maybe if you have any crafting skills try your hand at that, everyone loves something homemade especially if it's unique and made with love.. Obviously some products and services are mostly used by younger generation like baby products. But I think there are plenty of other surveys that apply to older ones like insurances or travel. The ones I don't get are usually technology based.

Sarah I know what you mean as soon as you fill in your age in many surveys they say you have been screened out.

It seems that various companies and organisations are only interested in opinions from the younger generations. I still manage to earn about $A100 a month but have to “work harder” for the cash.

I agree and it is discrimination because the people who have surveys are ignoring a base of elderly who are going to be around for awhile. I do see some trying to give more for older people but a lot are myopic and focused on young people, young families and ignoring the elderly are a huge consumer base and very influential in what the younger people do especially if they are close with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I just keep taking surveys, playing games, sell things I do not need, working on a website and putting out my stories copyright protected online soon on youtube. I pick huckleberries in summer and sell them and sell eggs from our chickens. Hold yard sales once or twice a year. Working on good photos to sell online that are watermarked for calendar and cards etc. I am screened out of over 50 % of surveys though more and more. There are things to do contact legislature and consumer affairs about the bias they do check into things. We also raise and sell AKC Scottish Terrier pups once a year.

Yes, I agree Sarah G, I'm older and am screened out of a lot of surveys because of my age, I'm sure. The other reason I am screened out of surveys is because my income is lower than the participants they require. I get screened out of lots of surveys and I’m in the younger/middle aged demographic. Some look for particular jobs and qualifications which I find interesting as well.

had already replied but here is another thought, they ask if you work. I am retired but put in around 30 hours a week as a volunteer and manage an op shop(thrift store) I think volunteering could be a question and an option when they ask about working.

I feel the same, they could include grandchildren when they ask about children as some people interact and childmind their grandkids a lot. I also find that on picture polls I get the right answer and get 1 point quite often yet others get up to 7 points... it is a bit discouraging.

Re surveys location is also a big problem for me. I still attempt surveys here and other sites just in case. I seem to get a decent paying one at least once a day. My husband and I have pensions for his military service so we don't work. What we do earn working comes off our pensions so easier to be retired. We also get a lot of benefits with that so we get by ok most times and no need to take jobs away from those who need them more.

I am 72 and I have not come across that problem yet.

I'm lucky that I am a multi millionaire, manage over a thousand staff, make all decisions re labour, training and hiring. My companies turnover is in excess of a Billion dollars annually. I do all the shopping and I am the sole shopping decision maker. I also like giving input re my use of mobiles and broadband both for business and home. Also I regulary watch and go to many films, and also watch TV and use and go to my Bank every week. Yes I do have All insurance products also. I am young, have many children and don't mind them doing surveys either. I also travel for business and vacation many time a year and know nearly all airlines. yes I agree as we get older we often do not get selected because of our age. But, survey centres have to remember - we have more disposable income than a lot of younger people. Our homes are paidfor, have superannuation and maybe a pension

I stick with the surveys as best I can. It sure is a lot of time for minimal compensation but 50 years out in the working world was more than enough for me. As a matter of fact, at a much younger point in my life and all at the same time, I had a full time papermill job, 3 part time jobs and my own small business. End the end I have minimal money so if I want to eat and buy cigarettes, surveys are the only answer. Sick and tired of working and sick and tired of bosses. I agree although my husband who is very old does get a lot of surveys, I loose interest if I keep getting screened out, sometimes I have also finished a survey & told I did not qualify very annoying , games are more fun be nice if they paid more.

Both Ageism and gender bias are alive and flourishing with in the Survey Sector. Rewardia, and others, have little to no say about the content or issues, such as Age and Gender, they are employed by companies, governments etc. to do so. The thing is to Persevere and also play as many of the games which get you points as possible. I have almost given up on doing surveys for at my advanced age as soon as I enter it I get screened out. Over the Christmas-New year period I was screened out af all but 3 surveys, I tried so many, on a number of occasions I was told Sorry we hve no more surveys at this time. Or words to that effect. This Age and Gender bias is particularly so for the Forgotten Generation. You may ask "Who are the Forgotten Generation?" Despite most of us living well into our Nineties and beyond, All of those born before 1940 have quite simply ceased to exist so far as Governments and corporations are concerned. I get a few surveys I'm an older person too and yes, I do think being an older person is harder to get surveys, I have just finished a whole ten-minute survey on supermarkets and got four points lol not good at all. because they didn't t like my answers

I started doing surveys more when I retired. Many do kick me off over the kids questions but I still manage to get some done. I like Rewardia as you can take a break in play games and still earn a little bit. Just today I'm trying for the 1000 points to get 200 but every survey I don't qualify which is annoying. 🥺 Just keep at it is all I can say really. Yes I suppose a lot of Surveys always want to know about children in the house, which I always have to say no to, is that why I get kicked out? Still doing a couple of phyical things for survey company's pays better. Like running a program on the computer, or plugging something into the TV.

Happy, happy birthday! Yes! Ageism is a huge problem when it comes to getting a little extra money. I too have health issues so I try and answer surveys to gain a few pennies. It seems that if you are a senior you can get 100 survey offers a day (over several companies) only to find that you get rejected for 80% right off the hop and the other 20% you get disqualified after you've filled out the whole thing and submitted the results. Just another scam!

Happy birthday, as for surveys they target certain audiences, for me it is hardly worth it to do any survey, as it is expected that you spend 40 minutes to be paid cents, not dollars, another issue with surveys you spend more than half an hour answering questions just to be told sorry you did not qualify

I think sometimes it's not the people that are giving you surveys it's the people who request surveys from them and stipulate the level off age of the people they want to hear from that we need to reeducate because we all participate in purchases and using products that companies want to hear from which includes ALL age groups. It's a pity those of us who are reaching or have reached what the Government thinks should be retirement age have also to take some blame. I get surveys and make sure I participate in a few companies that send them because I get different ones from all of them and yes, I get screened out sometimes because off age which irks me no end, but I shrug and keep participating.

They have their demographics to fill for products etc. I understand that, but at 57 I'm getting sick of the screenouts, Except if they give you screening points then It doesn't bother me. That; 's why I spend time on PureProfile. They give you 10 c for a screen out, or a comp entry. It's generally one .10 c and one Comp ticket. I also look at Swagbucks and don't make much on that because of my age. It pays in US dollars and the exchange rate with Frump will go up more. than it is now. Not alot. Unfortunately I am type 1 Narcolypsy with a long list of triggers. I focus on my budget,plan for what I need. I like to help others in need. It's grounding.I avoid large shopping centres and spending just for the sake of it. It would be nice to earn extra money for an emergency.

Don't know what sites you are members of or how many. I am 77 and i am getting screened but no more than 31 years ago. I now get more re retirement, aged care, medical, health, and last year am still redeemed a nice packet every December. Not a great income but for an hour a day I am not complaining

I agree if I not about to buy the next wiz bang phone, computer or car. If I'm not working, don't have kids, not going on a holiday or using public transport I'm often politely screened out! At 63 I'm being sensible minding my health post Covid and my finances. Realistically I do not think answering surveys is a reliable way to make some extra cash. I've taken to collecting recyclable glass bottles, cans and plastic bottles people are wasteful litterbugs, parks, near building sites, apartment blocks on bin night. It lacks dignity but supplements my food shopping and that helps me enormously. I now just enjoy playing the games on Rewardia. For what it's worth.

One of the easiest ways to save money is often overlooked. Sit down and seriously look at what you spend money on and control impulses when you are shopping. Make sure you have reviewed your static costs like energy, internet, phone plans and insurances. Op shops can be great value and take away food is bad value for example. Do you REALLY need 15 subscriptions for Netflix, Prime,Disney etc. I am generalising here of course but people do tend to only think of earning more rather than thinking about what they are spending and why they they are spending it. It does not mean you will have a bad life...you will in fact have more money to spend on things that REALLY matter to you.

I tend to get screened out of a few surveys but that is the way it is. I like to play the games that are on Rewardia and build points that way also.

I have found it very hard to qualify for loads of surveys. It seems since I turned 75 it has been the same. As there are nearly, if not more, people over the age of 60 than there are of the younger generations it may be prudent of those wanting surveys to make sure they got our views on product etc.

I work. But it depends on how old u are too but these surveys are a little bit extra bit of money for me at Christmas time.

Surveys are my saving grace but it is a slow process.

Create a buisness. Start with something you really enjoy, create buisness cards and distribute to locals and places that may be interested in your service or expertise. Simple - Older people in general (over approx 60yrs) do not spend as much as the young and hence the targeted audience.

Birthdays are good for you - the more you have the longer you live.

"What do you do to earn money as you age?" Since you didn't state your age, my suggestions will be generic. Get Medicare, if you're 65, with the Advantage Plan, and Medicaid if you qualify, Section 8 housing if you rent, grants for electricity and discounts with whatever you can, including the Internet! Get help with food if you're low income, and sign up for any program you can to help with utilities, food and housing. Most of all, don't be embarrassed, or ashamed, like I was at first, because these programs are put in place to help us! I retired at 72. I'm 77 now, and living my best life ever! A supportive family is a blessing, and I’m grateful for a hubby younger than me who is still working, while I’m enjoying my retirement life, also we’re on a shared family property. I’ve worked in the health care sector and have known people in their 70’s still working in their communities looking after aging and vulnerable population. Happy birthday 🎂

I seem to get screened out of surveys more because I don't drink. Not having kids, a car or smoking are the other big reasons why I get screened out. Happy birthday to you for tomorrow, I hope 2025 is a better year for you with surveys
