Too high requirement for surveys
Kamila P04-Nov-22
Lately, if I am not director or CEO of a company, or I don't have own company, I am scanned out of surveys. I mean, be realistic - would really the owner of a company have time for online surveys? Or someone with income greater than 150k a year would spend time to do online surveys about groceries stores? I don't think so. That requirements of being even able to do some survey is almost impossible lately. What are your experiences?

I agree. I am also retired and have no children at home. I have a list of surveys that I was screened out of. I have several that I completed and they are on the incomplete list. I sent an email with the information to claim my points and was told I needed to submit a screenshot. I went back to the list and 2 were removed but the points were not added. Waste of time.

I have become very choosy about the surveys I do. Some of their questions are so stupid, you would think a total imbecile has written them. There are some good survey companies out there, but you have to spend some time finding them.

Being retired seems to screen you out of a lot of surveys. I’ve pretty much stopped even trying to do them.

i find that if you do not have a certain job with these surveys - you get screen out. but most of us may not have direct input in decsion making in certin areas but we all do use them(it, commutation/equipment etc) and our bosses do listen to what we say but they make the final decision. but we do use and have a say about these things

I've been doing surveys for about 15 yrs. I get screened out on many but I don't give up. It gives me spending money on Amazon and PayPal. I'm retired also. Don't expect to get even half of the surveys you start. Enjoy the ones you do get to complete.

Totally agree... At times this puts you off doing surveys, being constantly scanned out can make you feel worthless.

I agree wholeheartedly. I get screened out mainly because I am retired. I dismiss surveys due to spending about 10-20 minutes into a survey only to be screened out with no points most of the time.

What is frustrating is when they let you complete surveys and then tell you it just filled up, taking information for nothing which in my book is stealing

There is absolutely no doubt that the main reason I get the 'cold shoulder' is my age. I am 77. Being rejected used to annoy me but I have come to accept that the so called marketing experts aren't interested in considered opinions from us older folk and believe that the world functions around the upwardly mobile with more money than sense. That's okay, they pay their money and get what they want but I wish they wouldn't waste everyone's time in this manner.

I am 77 years of age, is that it ? I agree with APB I think it targets young people. I also agree with you Jodie it is very degrading to be bumped out of surveys all the time. I am asked to do blue surveys all the time and then am not able to continue. From being a very exciting survey site it has become very disappointing. I have also found that quite a few of the surveys I have almost gotten to the end and it bumps me out, one survey took me over an hour and at the end said, sorry you did qualify for this survey.?... what the, I finished it. And complaining to Rewadia does nothing.

I was in IT before I retired and as I explained when I complained, every page you go to is logged therefore it can be proven that you completed the survey. It's just easier to give you a 100 points, pat you on the head and not investigate as they should. I pointed out that we are their bread and butter! On another site that I have been with for years, told me I raced through and therefore not awarded the points. They wouldn't provide proof. It was probably the one where they send you endless screens listing all the sports and want to know how interested you are in them. I have a touch screen and can touch type, how quickly so am I going to be able to go through? I argued twice about it. Not resolved to my satisfaction. It is the last site I go to.

I answered a lot more than just demographic questions so they effectively got a lot of information for 3 cents.

Ageism and Gender Bias are rife but don't blame organisations such as Rewardia. They don't actually create the surveys. It is the CEOs, CFOs and other highly paid employees who employ others to create surveys and they, in turn, employ Rewardia to run them. On one occasion I attempted to take part in 22 Surveys. I was screened out of all of them as soon as I entered my Age or both Age and Gender. I find this weird as we older people have many years of Experience, have tried countless new products - some of which we have bought once and never again, others have become much-loved and are still regularly bought! Why companies seem to only want the opinions of the "less than 30 year-old" bracket is beyond comprehension, yes, their opinion is important but then so are those of us riper ones and, as our politicians love to endlessly criticise us for being, we ARE the Majority. Another annoying is when you have spent, say, 15 minutes doing a survey, click on "Submit" only to be told that the survey is closed! Once we start a survey we should be allowed to complete it and get our points How often have you been told "This survey is not right for your Profile, please wait until we find you another", then you get a message stating "We have found a survey which matches your profile" - or words to that - and then when you click on "Start" you are told "This survey is not right for your Profile" and on and on it goes! The rewards offered are very often determined by the companies which commission them - sometimes they are dreadful, sometimes good. It all depends on how much money is available

It's not as if want thousands of dollars but a $100 a month is great and it really helps. I was quite happy with that. I also hate the ones about children and quite often get screened out because we don't have any or we don't go to the cinema. I like the surveys that give you a little for your time, like the red ones 50 points if screened out at least it is some thing for your effort. You win some, you loose some as the saying goes and hang in there, also take a break from doing the surveys every now and again for me that helps too.

I certainly cannot see a high powered or highly paid person spending the time. In any event, how do we know opinions matter or make a difference? I believe marketing know-it-alls determine production and selling strategies.

But what is worse, when you are trying to answer honestly, is you get removed from a survey which is almost completed because the algorithm thinks you are just randomly pressing buttons when you are not! Just yesterday I answered a series of 6 questions with "strongly disagree" and pressed next. Then the survey asked me to review them which I did, and the correct answers WERE strongly disagree! So I pressed next again and got booted off the survey. A few days back I had one, which I was having to concentrate on carefully because I was tired and trying to get it finished. But the question asked "what 5G network will your next phone provider be" and I answered neither to the question. Automatically I'm ruled out even though I NEVER want a 5G phone and I was on the home stretch. I sometimes think that the marketing departments who design the surveys make it in such a way as to ensure that they recieve a positive bias towards the results their clients want by screening out responses which might negatively impact the clients proposal! This REALLY annoys me WORSE than automatically being screened out due to age, gender etc because you've put the time in and got nothing in return! Thanks for reading.

In all honesty I give all the vouchers on the other survey sites like Toluna that I have joined to my 2 adult daughters as they have MANY cats they've rescued and been unable to rehome living in their separate properties. I'm not going to tell you HOW many but certainly enough to need all the help they can get! I usually cash in once I get to 50K points and I get the $50 to spend on my own cats. I have led a very busy life but I am certainly not as physically capable as I was even 2 years ago so when I have had a morning weeding, 2 hours at most, or I'm simply having an awful day and I need to distract myself or if I can't sleep overnight due to pain, which is unfortunately a constant companion, I at least can see if there are surveys available. It's always a working day somewhere in the world! I would go mad if I didn't have something to do that requires me to think! Take care now and thanks for your reply!

I still manage to earn enough rewards to supplement my supermarket shopping & send some to Paypal every month to help with the internet bill, but to do all this I'm a member of quite a few sites & spend a heck of a lot of time doing surveys.

I have just pick one up for next week I will have to attend a open group meeting for $150 for 90mins but they don't come very offend I am lucky if I get 4 in a year. When I do attend a survey group meeting you be surprise people who worked in high places or run their own business roll up just to do group meeting and make extra pocket money most of the time they do the group meeting on their way home from work and ask me how I manged to get a few survey meetings in a year. This little money I make pays for my holiday petrol money and the groceries for when my husband and I go to Darwin next year. I have also seen retired, unemployed and low income attend to focus group meetings just make extra cash. Now I notice they are not paying cash or direct into your bank account they give you vouchers. I have vouchers I will be using it for Darwin and help with the Christmas groceries.

It's not like you get paid much for completing the whole thing so surely 20 mins in they should pay you the 73 cents or whatever it should have been (730 points from memory).

I have already ticked that I am retired so it is none of their business. Do they want opinions or just our data ??? I only do blue (mostly not wanted here), or red, but more and more are asking for data access, so I am screened out. Also one the other day went on and on about how happy was I and how much research did I do about buying CAT FOOD. I rehomed a cat, I just bought a range of cat food and he turned his nose up at most of them, and I buy the couple of them that he will eat. I should have got the cat to fill in the survey !
