I like fashion but I would not follow the trend as I find they are becoming more nuts in style.

I try to stick with classics and even retro. I can’t afford to replace my wardrobe at a fashion whim. Classic doesn’t go out of style.

I don't really pay attention to the "fashion style" that goes around every season. That said, I do like the unique, off the wall type of style. It has to feel like me or I won't want it. I feel like if my actual style had a name it would probably be called an outrageous name. My favorite styles are boho and romantic, but i love bold prints and/or colors. I like something that pops. But not like a pizza dress. That's where I start to cringe.

Alot of what you see on the runway isn't even practical for everyday, some of the clothes you couldn't sit down in or do your work comfortably. I know everyone has different tastes but for me I have to be able to move freely and not be restricted in what I can do, being able to go to the toilet without undressing is good too.

I don't think I've ever been able to understand "fashion." It has always seemed that the uglier the clothes, the "higher" fashion it becomes. Where in the world would you wear such stuff? And the proposed price of the stuff is designed for people who have enough money to air condition their own little corner of hell. Seeing ill fitting clothes on people is about my Fashion Trends limitations.

I think ugly fashion comes from students that just do not make the grade in the fashion industry so the clothes they produce are still put out there to show just what good fashion is and these ugly things are not it!

All of them at the REIQ Fashion Awards I was basically asked to sign the Official Secrets Act before going into the dress making areas so I would not tell the competition what this crowd was doing. I used to laugh at them as to me all that they where doing was sewing 2 or more bits of cloth together to make a garment for an outlandish price that was as useful as Teats on a Bull for 99.999999999999999999999% of the time most where so pointless that you would be committed for wearing any one of them.

Maybe I have reached the old lady stage of my life but the one fashion I cant stand is the "little girl" dress look. Seeing anyone over the age of 10 weaing these frilly just covering the bum dresses makes me cringe. Seeing oversized women trying to act as teenagers is ridiculous. Also most of the current fashions rely on oversized clothing so anyone can wear them without making them look as if they are wearing their older siblings clothes. Actually you can now go to the op shops and buy these clothes for less than their overpriced tags to wear to fancy dress parties or just for a laugh. Unfortunately in some cases there is still freedom of choice regarding how to dress so the fashion designers can make anything work for at least one season. The more material used the more expensive the item and the more outlandish the item looks the more eccentric people will buy it. Weird fashions will continue to reign as long as there are humans to buy them. Same as bright blue orange green yellow hair is now the fashion or black dark red lipgloss to add to the meat paperclip credit card toilet paper dresses . You just have to grin and bear the ongoing crazy world we live in and just be thankful that we aren't all the same liking the same things otherwise what a dull world it would be.

Seeing boys or mens underwear because they wear their jeans around their knees. Do they realize how tacky and silly they look? And they only do it because another guy or their friends do it. They are followers, not leaders. It's so easy to see this about their personality because walking around like you have a really saggy diaper isn't the look a caring and classy person who cares about their presentation, would do. Also, older and especially larger woman who wear skinny jeans in the name of "Im heavy and beautiful", is all wrong. Yes, you are probably heavy, or skinny, or normal weight and you are all beautiful. But dress your age and your real size, not what you can wrestle into. Clothes that fit a bigger petson look so much better than clothes too small. Women who are middle-aged dressing like twenty-somethings look like buffoons. Come on, put on an age appropriate look that fits your body, not the body you used to have or dream of having. Ladies, let's look the part. I wear what I like and do not care what anyone thinks whether it is the latest fashion or not.I have my own individual style and I'm happy with that.I love clothing and I am a boho romantic at heart and this basically is my look and has been ever since I was in my late teens,I'm 53 now and not likely to ever change my style.

Men who wear suits, business shoes and NO socks. What's that about? Apart from having putrid feet at the end of the day.

I guess the saying is true beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I would never wear any of those clothes but my wife does find some of them to astonishing and as I said before beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I agree with Vicki, that clothing fashion designers are running out of new imaginative ideas for modern day wearing clothes on people. They are getting weird, strange designs that are unpractical and don't fit properly or in at all. Take the two styles in the photo above of the two men. I think they look terrible. They don't match or fit properly on the person. They look sort of trendy but really, who would want to walk around in clothes that don't fit you properly or look like the old fashioned dress of the 1920's etc. You need to think practical for easy casual clothing or something looks smart to wear to a wedding etc. They do look ugly and who really would buy that sort of eccentric unorthodox type of clothing. Next, we will wear skimpy thin clothes or something that resembles a silver space suit. What next? I don't like white as it shows up the dirt easy. I must admit the colours are a bit dull. Maybe dark colours are in fashion at present. My eye for fashion needs needs to come down to earth. I'm sure people would look at you and say what a unusual dress you are wearing. Well, at 75, with Section 8 Housing, Electric Assistance, EBT Food Card, help with the Internet, and drawing less than $800 a month Social Security, I get all of my clothes, socks, shoes and underwear from a place in town called The Garage of Blessings, where everything is Free! I also get soap, deodorant, shampoo and housewares there, and I have better clothes than if I bought them! People make donations, and homeless, low income or anyone who wants to come there get all items free of any charge. I love my clothes, and I don't care what others think! Edited 11-Feb-23 06:32am

What has happened to all those great Colours? Where are the Reds, Greens, Blues, Yellows, Purples, Oranges? Where have they all gone to? Menswear, in particular, is colourless, bland, boring Beige, Black, Navy, Cream, Grey and some of them look like they have been worn on a building site as they just look dirty. We used to think that it was Women who were choosing the so-called colours for Menswear as Womenswear was all bright, cheerful colours and then it all changed and now Women are also only being offered the same ghastly, boring colours men have had to put up with for so many decades. We queried this with one Men's Fashion producers and were told that the reason was that all those colours fade over time! So what? We will still wear them even if faded and then when they start to wear out, get holes in them - given the appalling quality being foist upon the public this is very often - we can buy new ones. Come on, you absurd Fashion Designers, get your act together and give us all some Cheerful, Friendly COLOURs - we are not all in perpetual mourning as you seem to think we want to be.

There are a few items that other commentators have said that they think should have NEVER been a "thing" and when it comes to the ripped jeans and pants so baggy that if a wonderful blew those clothes would end up below their knees, but I am reflecting on the shoulder pads of the 1980's. I remember having a few tops and at least one dress that had those dreadful things in them. I would NEVER wear them now but even having said that, at least I wasn't exposing my skin to all and sundry like some people today. It would seem that the further we go from "normal" as a society, the worse the fashion of the day is, and it feels like the debauchery of the mind is also recognised in the debauchery of the clothing worn. Seeing people wear those jeans with holes in them, the knees worn out is just ridiculous. Another thing that really annoys me when beautiful looking women put rings in their nostril, on the side that is, or when they put rings in that little piece of skin between the nostrils, the sort of thing farmers do with their pigs! how can people see this and think it makes them look better?
