Discussion of the Day ยท 19-Jul-26
Another welcome to the future post.
My 21-year-old granddaughter came to live with us. Rural area, she has a boyfriend who lives in another country, and they decided to meet up in a city a few hours away. He booked and paid for his airline tickets online, booked her a bus ticket to the city online. They both had to download the apps. He prerented a vehicle at the airport, just scan and get into the vehicle, no counter personnel involved. She had to present her phone with the ticket for the bus driver to scan. He booked a hotel room online, no check in person, it's all on the app, scan at the front desk and get the key card to get in the room. Jobs, traditional job roles are disappearing daily, no check in people at hotels, no ticket sales people, their hotel had all vending machines for snacks and drinks. We saw a news program last night that explained how now when we go thru the drive thru at our favorite franchise restaurant the orders will be taken by an AI "person" instead of a real person wearing the headphones.
