Recently got called up but coudln't fulfil it due to mental and physical health reasons. But was still a bit exciting to get the letter, I'm young and it was my first time haha.

I have not. My daughter has. My son showed up but they had enough people before they got to him. I'm not sure I'd want to be knowing people's worst moments, but at the same time, I know it would be an honour helping someone get justice for a wrong done against them.

I was on a jury once but for some reason we were sent home and told to return the following day. That night I saw on the TV news who it was that was about to be tried. I almost died because he was the type who would hunt you down and kill you. When we turned up the following day we were told there wouldn't be a trail and we were paid for one day. I haven't been called since and due to my age won't ever be called again.

Yes I was a juror on the trial of scumbag vs scumbag and we got discharged before we heard the defence. It was an assault, and although drugs weren’t mentioned it was probably over drugs. The defendant winked and smiled at me a few times and creeped me out, but the victim was creepy too and was playing up his very minor injuries as much as he could. I was glad I didn’t have to listen to the whole thing.

We ended up awarding the plaintiff millions of dollars for what she had been through and endured by her own employer, the county attorneys office,.....how ironic I know! But it was a good experience and to be picked out of 100's of "hopefuls" was a surprise alone. I hope I can serve again.

I have and it was a real lesson about reasonable doubt. I knew the guy was guilty but the video evidence was grainy and you couldn’t make him out clearly. I hated voting to acquit and only hope he learned his lesson. Like I said a real lesson.

My dad was called up and selected for a jury. He was discharged before lunch on the first day because he kept falling asleep. My dad was normally on his feet all day, so sitting still in a chair was his signal to fall asleep.

As I have appeared as an Expert Witness way too many times I am excused from Jury Service. The wife however was serving on a jury and the Judge hearing the case came down for their Christmas Photos and saw here talking to 2 other Judges several QC's and a pole of other people in the Profession and she sent the Sheriff over to see what was going on and find out if she was asking for Legal Opinion. The Sheriff had to go back and tell the Judge that she was only talking to some friends and for some reason she has never been asked to be on a Jury again. Probably the same reason why I do not get asked because of those I associate with.😄

Yes and it was a pain. Went for a week as defendant was his legal person after being told by the judge NOT GOOD IDEA. He tried every trick he could. He would ask for the time.5 minutes before lunch so can we go now,NO. One day a legal person asked for the date. When told he said the rate we are going it will be Christmas soon. Lady next to me said OH NO. Judge looked at her but said nothing. He was getting peeved at the guys antics. So after 1 week we found him guilty of stealing a mantle clock. Next court a rape case was done and dusted in 2 days. The money was ok but I had to repay my work as can’t get paid twice but could keep traveling money. Got called again but got excused as I couldn’t hear anything said by all at front.

I have been summoned for Jury Duty twice in my life. The first time, the case was dismissed because both participants were elderly and infirm, and the judge ruled that they were both not healthy enough to go through with the trial. The second time, I was selected to be part of the jury and actually sat through the Voir Dire, where the Prosecutor interrogated the defendent. She was elderly and barely spoke English. The judge called for a short recess. While we(the jury) were waiting to reconvene, I received a phone call from my doctor with some bad news. She wanted me to have more testing done ASAP. I told her that I was in Jury Duty. She said that I could continue or ask to be excused. I was pretty upset by the news, so I asked to be excused, which the judge granted. I never found out the case was settled.
