Discussion of the Day
Photographer at a wedding
Mr20-Feb-24
Should it be said that photographers and wedding planners should have a seat at the table at meal time?
I know a lot of people don't offer to give them food, but I think it goes a long way and extremely generous to do so.
What are your thoughts?

I was married back in 1971. The photographer took the official photographs outside the church, a few in the grounds of the reception house and when we cut the cake. He then went home. If you want an official photographer which costs a fortune then go ahead but I think after the cake cutting any other photographs can be taken by guests with their phones who can forward them to you and you can keep or delete at will. I do not feel they need to be seated with the guests as they are there to do a job and are getting paid for that.

I had a Civil Marriage (I got married by a clerk - a marriage clerk at the county government level - who have the authority to legally marry us - two marriage clerks in every county in every state (USA) has the authority to perform a CIVIL MARRIAGE). Other words, there isn't a NEED for food, photographer, or wedding planner at a Civil Marriage.

expecting people to do their best work photographing other people eating and drinking, while not being able to eat/drink the same is more than a little scuzzy (= petty, mealy mouthed - cheap). It's supposed to be a celebration!!!! You don't want 'em to get blotto, but come on! lol
