I have not had an alcohol drink in over a year. As I have coeliac disease I am reluctant to have any thing. I do feel like some now and again but walking the dog helps to relax me so I do not need alcohol. $600 is a lot of money on alcohol. You could save that money and when lock down eases you could go on holiday. I also feel that the preservative in alcohol is not good for our body.

$300-400 per month Two bottles of white and 2 bottles of red per week. Works out to a glass of each per night. Wouldn't call it excessive but you are along time dead so we might as well enjoy what we like.

We spend very little, lucky to buy one bottle of wine a month, a carton of beer we buy at Christmas, low alcohol, usually lasts almost a year, we recently bought a six pack of no alcohol beer from Coles to try, quite nice, alcohol, for us, it is a treat, we are on just a married half aged pension, as I am not old enough to qualify. Just drawing a small amount of super to supplement the pension, we easily manage to live on five hundred dollars a week, no debts and no waste, still manage to save up for our camper van holidays, better than spending it all on grog.

It can differ each month because it depends what is happening at the time like a party,friends get together,dinner party at home,quite night in with a few quite ones lol etc etc but it would never be $600 bucks,i'm not that rich and social life has taken a dive since covid lockdowns again.Edited 19-Sep-20 13:18pm

  According to Soda Stream they are eco friendly now, we take the old cylinder back and buy a new one. A bit like gas bottles. If I thought the cylinders would not be recycled I wouldn't use it. So much waste every where these days. Gee I sound old.

Zero $$$$$ Zero alcohol....Definitely no need for it. Only thing I do use is brandy for the homemade Christmas pudding to light the flame mainly for the traditional affects !!! Still at Christmas no other alcohol for drinks, not worth abusing the body. Can not believe that 600 dollars is so wasted. Hope that health insurance can be afforded,only a matter of time until it will be needed !!!

$600 Month is a lot of Liquid Assets that just pass as liquid .. so much work for kidneys to reverse the process of water into wine back to water again! We don't spend that much, maybe $50 ensures the bladder remains as small as the wallet
