Why not put your time & money into something worth while....like a cure for childhood & adult cancer!!! Just saying.

Lithium ion batteries are not safe and those luggage should definitely not be allowed on planes or elsewhere for that matter,it just isn't safe.

Safety comes first and these luggages with Lithium batteries should be banned as they are risking people's life on the plane. And Lithium batteries is not easy to put out. Ask the fireman about lithium batteries they'll tell you...

I saw one of those suitcases in an airport 2 years ago and I was surprised that they allowed it onto the plane simply because it contains a rather large battery. My husband and I were happy to see it wasn't going on the same plane that we were on.

Great idea. I guess we will all have to wait and see if they actually explode on an airplane. Time will tell.

I refuse to own any so called 'Smart' anything in my home. If it talks, moves, or thinks on it's own, there's no way it will ever be owned by me. I have a 'Smart' brain, 2 arms and 2 legs, and I choose to use them and do everything myself! ;-D

I was watching a video the other day where they tested different motor vehicles in a crash situation and the only one that burst into flames almost immediately was the electric vehicle (Tesla) I don’t know if I’d ever want to buy an electric vehicle

It's time to take care not to use Lithium batteries anymore, which may upset the multinational companies that deal in Lithium but is better for the World and healthier for us humans scootering around or flying high he he.

We have batteries in our phones , watches (smart) ,cameras , hearing aids , laptops , tablets etc the list goes on

The screeners at the airports will be screening for batteries now and if one is found out comes all their carry on luggage until it can be removed. Horrible job. Only every lost my luggage once but the staff located it and it came by a taxi to where I was staying at an Aunt's a few days later. I like the idea of being able to ride my luggage to the check in now that would be fun but that would require a battery so I doubt if that would come about.

It really does put one off travelling by Air, doesn't it? At least in a car, Bus, Coach or on board a ship one has the chance to put any fires out, not be injured but in an airplane we have no chance whatsoever. We're all deady-bones! Just what are the, allegedly; super Clever and now super Rich like Elon Musk doing to address this problem or is it that they have all become so rich, so obsessed with making even more money that they simply don't care and refuse to take any responsibility for what they have created?. have we all become so inept, so lazy, so stupid that we can't find our own Luggage? If we have then maybe no-one should be allowed to get on board an aircraft. Why don't all airlines place an Immediate ban on the carrying of any equipment which has Lithium Batteries in it.If that means Laptops, i-pads are banned then so be it. better to arrive Alive than not get there at all and end up at the bottom of some ocean!Edited 03-Mar-25 10:53am

Walking down the “ safe footpath “ now is a health hazard.I go to a doctor near Parramatta and walking thru the plaza area the silent death traps fly like No tomorrow and no one seems to stop them. Even now school kids are flying down the footpath and streets con to way for sc. only a matter of time. I saw on news a E cycle rider was killed by a car so wake up call needed now

So many talks and lecturers about safety still such things, difficult to fathom.

That is absolutely ridiculous for any aircraft to allow that on an aircraft, knowing what the ramifications could be. When I fly next I will be certainly asking the airline if they are allowing that product on the aircraft and if they are I definitely won't be flying with them.

Shocking when you consider the ramifications and sometimes only something is actually done about the situation when a tragedy occurs. An accident waiting to happen.

Just get your Neo robot to carry your Luggage and you should be safe. But then if the bag blows up and Dammages your Neo robot which cost you 35 grand, you better make sure you've got Humanoid robot insurance as well, as smart baggage insurance, as well as 3rd party smart baggage insurance in case you damage someone elses luggage. So then if everyone stays away from smart baggage, we'd be better off. But then the smart baggage producers would be loosing profits and that would be such a big problem. And the insurance companies might lose a bit too.

Technology has left me for dead; kids gave me an old computer and phone so I can listen to music. 90% of our house is from an era where they made things that didnt break down / need replacing or were under threat of blowing up. puts a new meaning to pack up your troubles in your old kit bag, i don't think too many are smiling

All of these "smart" gadgets are nothing but useless gimmicks for the terminally lazy, and all are about as dumb as dog poo. The current fad for battery-driven everything is also insane. Batteries are highly polluting (in manufacturing and disposal) and potentially highly dangerous, and they all wear out and need replacing. The there's the problems of most countries not having enough electricity generation to meet current demands, let alone the ever-growing number of battery devices that need constant recharging. (The number of people who buy a laptop, only to leave it sitting on the same desk all the time is astounding - they'd be far better off with a normal desktop computer.)Edited 03-Mar-25 07:22am

Yep...accident waiting to happen. My dad was a baggage handler for a large Australian airline when I was a kid.....I know how the bags get chucked around. I can see alot of drama occurring here, for peoples need for everything to be smart now.

I would never purchase one and I don't fly!

Aside from useless subscription services that promise to "wipe your bum" for you, this is another thing I despise: the need for every brand or company to come up with a way to incorporate smart technology into their products when it is NOT necessary. Next on the list for these fools probably will be a subscription service to manage your unusual smart devices.

I think its crazy and very dangerous its all getting out of hand and they should be banned I think its all a money making sceem and puting everyone in danger

Dangerous and more spying, keeping track of our whereabouts? Nope, no thanks! And who really needs luggage that TELLS you where it is? It seems like more of a tracking device to me.

They actually pay people to come up with these horrendous and dangerous things. And you'd think they'd test them before marketing them. If not tested... they're idiots. If tested... even bigger idiots for selling them to unsuspecting people. And mean.

There is nothing smart in creating these "time bombs" .. what can we call them ... "friendly fire" ... they may be called "smart inventions" but I wouldn't want to use them to track my luggage!!!!

I'd never considered this - Ooh, that sounds potentially VERY dangerous!

They know the batteries are dangerous but persist in using them as they are making millions / billions. Until people say no more and stop buying them nothing will be done.
