Complain or Praise?
Over the years I have seen servers in restaurants being treated badly by the patrons, and often for no good reason. And yes, there are those servers that obviously don't care if your food arrives cold or even if it arrives at all. But there are a lot of good ones that do the best they can under difficult circumstances. My husband would always go out of his way to single out these people and let them know that they were appreciated. Once in Vegas we watched a poor kid struggling. This kid had been working more tables than he should have and still some idiot felt the need to complain loudly that he had gotten the plates mixed up. How difficult is it to exchange plates with your wife? Seriously, you're sitting right beside her!
These days when we are so quick to complain, why are we not as quick to praise? Tips are great, but a heartfelt thank-you and a handshake can make the difference between a bad day and a good day. And it costs you nothing.
Am I wrong?
