Weather and body signs
Alison W08-Aug-21
Does anyone notice weather changes in air pressure affecting their joints, aches and pains? A physio said there is anecdotal evidence people with certain conditions appear to act like a barometer. I know I have predicted rain when it was not on the radar.

I am sore all over, not on our normal mattress. A good mattress helps.

Yes - I must admit - I can often tell when there is weather coming because certain joints (mainly my ankle which I injured many years ago) start to ache. It is nearly always accurate......

That’s completely correct. The weather definitely has an effect. Something else that affects your body is the full moon - my naturopath told me that the full moon creates change in your body as it exerts push and pull on the body fluids. So, if you’re subject to more aches and pains in the lead up to the full moon, it’s not your imagination.

I quite agree, I am waiting for a knee op, and it seems to get worst as the weather changes, and yes it does give me the chance to catch up with my laundry with having to usemy dryer

It is purely anecdotal that this coincidence happens. Such a pity as it would be a great way to dose up on something and avoid the pains with aches.

Not sure I believe it is purely coincidence. I have been told by several reputable medical people that old injuries can play up in certain weather.

Yes the knees hurt, my thumbs and big toes where I also have arthritis hurts. Cold weather and rain. The heat makes it less sore. It has something to do with the pressure in the air.

My dad had trouble with his knee from a WW2 injury. When the weather was turning hot / cold he could tell it would ache. A uncle had the same thing and rain was coming. So to answer the question YES people can predict the weather thru their joints

I usually put on the stretch supports and this helps. Yet this cold weather my knees are fine. I have had one dry eye for a year now. I have tried many drops. Just recently I tried another more intensive drops recommended by the Pharmacist. I thought this is great my first night went very well. Next night I awoke with the same problem. Not as bad but who knows tonight. It is horrible when the whole eyelid sticks to the whole eye ball. Scary especially when it impairs your vision. Getting old is not pleasant.
