Yeah why not. A robot wont cough/breathe covid onto my food, pass on hepatitis or be rude. In Japan they have these robot waiters which are remotely connected to customer service people - some of which have disabilities, so it gives them a job plus merges the human aspect of customer service into the android. Be interesting in a once off scenario but I think I prefer humans. Too many jobs are going by the wayside with self service checkouts, chat boxes, etc. I have said for years the world is going this way as big business does it's best to make more and more money. However, eventually with no one in jobs and no one getting paid who will pay for their products and services. Yes I am sure some people will have jobs but not the masses. As we give robots more and more intelligence eventually they will not need our input as they will do it all for themselves. Scary....

I think we need more people to study this as a career. It might lead to better breakthroughs in the industry. It will be a good and thriving industry to get involved in if you are just starting out. I imagine there will be a high demand for robotic engineers in the decades to come. An industry that will have people earning top money and with a lot of potential to progress further as more advancement is made.

Its pointless asking this question as robotics aren't very advanced yet. They have limited functionalitys. Saying that, if more progress is made whereby they can do things better...then i would not say no. Tho people still need jobs so we have to keep that in mind also.
