New Zealand would be my ideal holiday destination. I have been wanting to go back for ages to see all of my friends and family. Always lots of activities or events to explore.

What do you think of all of the recent remakes, past and present? Are new ideas becoming scarce? Have you actually found a production (remake) of an old film or TV series, that was enjoyable?? Well, regardless of how we feel, the film 'King Kong' has another remake.
Pauline T 68358
Many of the old movies are better than some of the rubbish and stories made today. The ne movies could not be classed as entertainment.

I mean these supposed plus-size women aren't even fat. Most of them are just average or what would be considered normal compared to the rest of the population. I mean Marilyn Monroe would be considered plus-sized in today's era and she's the most lusted after woman that ever lived. I think they should change the term to "buxom" or "sexy". Keep it positive!

this whole discussion is based on personal opinion - i am a size 8 and find it offensive when people say i starve myself - or thin shame me (yes it happens often) - i am naturally this size i eat a lot, i exercise too and stay same size and think as long as you are happy in yourself it shouldn't matter what size you are - whatever words used can be offensive if we let them - i choose to smile and let it go

Sometimes we have so much to do and have only little time for it. Cleaning, washing, work, cooking, kids, shopping, walking the dog etc. Do you have any hints or advices for the people who struggle to find time to make everything done?

When we were scammed out of our life savings of $53,500 whilst building a new house we ended up with a mortgage and having to do all the landscaping ourselves so it is an ongoing thing, we just try and set out what needs doing the most and tackle it day by day.

If you truly believe in God, you will realise why people get married. Marriage is a type of Christ and his bride, and when Christ returns he will take those who believe in him to be his bride, and they will live with him in bliss and everlasting joy for eternity. You see, the Bible teaches that the kingdom of God will be on earth. In the meantime by being married we are glorifying God who wants us to be faithful to our partner in this life, just as we must be faithful to God. Marriage is a big commitment but it is very worthwhile from a scriptural point of view.

Online shopping and express postage is great when it works, especially during lockdown. But with so many more parcels and packages being sent via post -- the care of fragile items by post office staff and couriers seems almost non-existent. I decided to order some bone china, they arrived smashed. I requested a replacement, the replacement also arrived smashed. Moral of the story: Don't order china or glass during Covid19 or do so at your own risk!

Hi Elizabeth T, please tell me what the hell did we do before the internet, we went to the shops, we were fitter, and we just go on with things without whining, make that special trip, you might find that there is a world beyond your computer screen, everything does not have to be convenient, to many people are just using co-vid as an excuse to do nothing, yes it's serious, but Australians can fight anything, walk away from the screen, it will not jump off the desk or your lap to kill it self, and the walk will do you good

The World Medical Association has said that boxing should be a banned sport because it causes fatalities and brain injuries. But life causes fatalities and brain injuries. Sport causes fatalities and brain injuries. Car accidents cause fatalities and brain injuries. Should we aim to ban everything? Boxing should not be banned. It's the risk the individual chooses to take when they play the sport.
Katzeye
I don't think it should be banned,if it is going to be banned then all contact sport should be banned. They just need to be wearing the right protection like helmets and mouth guards.

Apparently people who don't care what others think are happier and I'd agree with that. When you do what's best for you, things seem to run more smoothly.
Carmel C 103964
Caring about what others think makes me happy, because I enjoy caring.
I don't live as a hermit, I live in a community....so everything that other people do or think affects me either directly or indirectly.
If you are asking solely about whether my choices are based on what other people think about my choices..... then that is very different conversation. Do I care that someone I know hates it when I wear read. No I don't, because I enjoy wearing red. Do I care that my mother disapproves of me not visiting her more than I do...yes I do care...because I don't want her to feel sad or lonely.
Different situations result in different levels of 'do I care'. You can't lump them all under one heading and ask do you care or do you not....because it depends totally on what the situation or issue is. .

Seriously in 2020, with the pandemic and all the other crazy crap that is going on, an alien invasion would be a welcome surprise. And to be honest, I don't think anyone would bat an eyelid. Perhaps we could vote the Aliens into government. They would do a better job than our politicians are doing
lippy loo
Not heard any news here. I don't believe in aliens per se but life on other planets is a possibility but in microbe form etc. Can't see some form of intelligent life as we have if you can call us that as we came about by circumstances that would not be repeated elsewhere. A spec of dust or a microbe started us off.
I think the Governments are doing OK although some not so much. We are having a pandemic and they are in a fine balancing act trying to save peoples lives and also their livelihoods.
This virus is so virulent and we have the idiots who just don't get it going about and spreading it more.
Everyone stay safe, follow the simple rules of social distancing, quarantining if necessary, get tested if sick or asked, do not shake hands or hug, do not gather in groups etc. If everyone did this together we would probably not have the situation in Victoria, NSW and now it seems in Queensland.

Having children is a lifestyle choice and not everyone wants to hear children screaming or misbehaving on international flights, in restaurants and so forth. I think we all deserve choices. I think we all deserve to have a peaceful coffee at a cafe without children running around. Not only would this provide an option for childless individuals but also parents who need some time-out
Patman Newcastle
No. Children are a part of every day life whether they belong to a family and are grandchildren or great grand children. They bring joy to the family.

I think it also a desensitivity to violence in general with constantly seeing increasingly realistic imagery of people being raped or blown up or stabbed/gutted with knives. Then, the lights/bells/whistles that go off when you might kill another being (in a game) to win the round or whatever, makes violence a thing to be used to maybe get ahead of the game in real life. Sadly, I think many of these ultra violent/realistic type games were/are designed to do this. When you stab someone to death, they don't really die- they just come back at you in the next round. If you do this countless times then you very well may in some small way expect the same to occur in real life, especially if you haven't yet fully developed a brain that can tell the difference (fully) between RL and a game situation or scene. Bully or brutish behaviour, towards women say, if very often associated with heroism. The 'hero' of the round got to be the hero because he just shot 25 "bad guys" up with an AK47. 7 and 8 year olds may hav

Heat butter or oil in a pan, add finely chopped red onion, garlic and green chilli and fry until fragrant. Add corn kernels, then season with salt, black pepper, chilli flakes/powder and a little paprika or chaat masala. Stir-fry on medium-high heat until the corn is slightly browned and crispy. Finish with a squeeze of lemon juice and serve hot.
NotFriedLikeMost
I would use any other vegetable than corn. The corn we have nowadays has been overly hybridized for almost 100 years and our body does not recognize it, hence, why most of it comes out in our crap. Garlic butter, however, is fantastic...I would put it on green beans....asparagus....mushrooms.

Oh yes, it really is delicious, it make it quite frequently. Frozen or fresh raspberries and lime juice as well as lemon juice and I replace a bit of the maple syrup with a tad of artificial sweetener. Just think of this as a concept rather than a recipe. Any type of berries would be great, depending on your taste. i dont think any dietitian would give you a lecture over an unhealthy choice of jams with this tasty topping.

Women are hormonally different from men. Our hormones shift, pre-menopause and post-menopause which can definitely change our figures. Due to a decrease in estrogen, fat is stored around our waist. How do we adjust? By learning what works for us. There are helpful videos regarding how to power down cortisol in the morning and being aware of all low-grade stress that increases cortisol. It is a journey of learning and hope. Let's support each other.

Not sure how some people can get such high scores in Scramble words. I ve played a few times. On all levels easy medium and hard. Most times managed to get around 400-600 points before all words are solved. Tried a little experiment. Have also gone from longest complex ones...

Yes I have queried these incredible top such scores in the past and whether the leaders and these top scores in nearly every different game do in fact actually exist. Thomas of Rewardia was adamant that they do. If this is so then how about one of them put their hand up and log into this comment topic and confirm which game they are top of etc. Don't hold your breath. Ummmmmm

I just completed a survey that said it would take 2 minutes to complete for 50 points. Guess what? It took me over 30 minutes. Do you or have you been ripped off like this?
keimanzero
2 minutes for 50 points but if you are screened out of a survey, many times they will substitute another surey for you and continue until you win those 50 points. Yesterday I did one for 180 points and when I finished it, the score keeper said I'd been awarded 220 points! Sometimes it works both ways. If anyone who should have a bef against Rewardia, it'd be guys like me who rely on these online surveys to earn points to be redeemed fro cash and mdse! I was force retired in 2008 at age 59. Now after SS, SNAP, pension and take off $700 rent, I have only $900 left to live on so these surveys are a Kami-send to me! I wish more groups allowed me to have cash transfers to my Paypal acct and/or redeemed for Amazon gift codes. Wednesday 8 July, I turn 77 and my pet kitty cat Plummy will be 10. I have to bake my own cake, buy myself and Plummy our own gifts and nobody will visit us lonely shut-ins ever! I also wish that the points needed to redeem were a lot lower than 100K like they are here or 25K or 15K elsewhere online! But nobody seems to care re survey takers like us!

So it's Australia day coming up again on the 26th Jan. There is so much media hype about the jail system in Oz, the so-called do-gooders make jail time like a holiday. Prisoners rioting because they've lost their freedom. What do they think they're there for? Do the crime, do the time and maybe, just maybe they won't want to go back there and will become good citizens.

Also if that was the case then something like meals on wheels would do that if it was legal and same as our nursing homes but they don't as you can get in trouble plus with the technology today nothing goes undected they can even test our sewerage .but years ago before we had all this technology it might have happened like maybe 25 to 30 yrs ago as things were not very strict then either.

I do not keep up with workmates from my one previous job (which I retired from). Only one shift (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM - got two 15-minute breaks and a half-hour for lunch (I worked a total of eight hours on each workday). In addition, I was the only minority in a huge office - were I worked for thirty years. We did not have one thing in common with each other - we did not socialize with each other on the job, and we did not socialize with each other on weekends (we did not work weekends) or on holidays (we got holidays off - with pay). Only four things I actually liked about my federal civil service job - the pay, job advancement opportunities, I got sick leave and annual (vacation) leave, and I got to wear jeans too work every day. I do not miss my workmates - but I DEFINITELY miss not getting paid every two weeks (on a Tuesday) :-))! I now get paid - on a monthly basis (bummer).

Life is very expensive due to high house prices, living costs here in NZ and still paying a mortgage when I have 11 years to go before I retire at 65. Kitty, I would just like to suggest to you trading on the ASX, if you are aren't already. I guess Kiwis are able to trade on the Australian Stock Exchange easily. I would just like to share my experience. About 10 years ago I came across a book in the library called Top Stocks by Martin Roth. He brings out a new upgraded version each year at around this time. It is basically the thoroughly researched lowdown on the top 100 companies in Australia. They all must pay twice yearly dividends to get into the book. It sets out the criteria for making it to the 100. It is just fantastic for learning the ropes about investing in shares. I get so much pleasure of watching the ups and downs on the stock market. We are all investing in shares through our superannuation but you cannot get your hands on it until retirement age. Having a bit invested in the stock market on your own gives you the option of taking a bit of cash easily if you ever need some quick money. One just cannot go wrong with the 100 ASX sha

If so, what was the item? And was assembling it as easy as IKEA makes out? I am curious if they live up to their legend.
Avatar Queen
Have only ever purchased 1 item (as far as I can remember) - got someone else to put it together for me as it was so complicated and takes so long to put it together. The process of finally finding it in the store, selection of the wanted item, collection from the assembly store down the bottom and then getting it paid for, let alone getting it home again is a mission in itself - who has the expertise or energy left to put the item together. Only impetus is saving the $70+ dollars they want for getting someone from their store to assemble it for you. Much prefer to go somewhere else & pay a bit more but get the item in one piece at home. I'm too old to try doing the gymnastics required to assemble the IKEA items.
