I know I am getting older but this morning I decided on Bingo for the first game .Sitting playing watching the balls come down I go into wide eyes checking the rows for the numbers .As they are mixed and I like knowing were they are.Yes before everyone comes in with what I just learnt I don t know why I presumed the colour of the balls were not coordinated with their rows .Think because I saw they were mixed thought they wouldnt be the colour stated on ball...

How many times does it take you to finally indicate where you think the ball is going to go into the basket? (Not a hoop, a basket with 2 handles!!). I'm not sure that in real life the ball would evern go into the basket, but perhaps I am not good at basketball! If you aren't in the 'know,' this is a verification activity, before being allowed to enter the survey. It can take me several tries before I finally succeed!

Hi everyone! I live in a very remote town in Canada (way up north) We only have one bus for public transportation here. There are no taxis, Ubers etc. Literally one bus. 3 weeks ago the bus shut down-due to illness of a driver. The weather here is mostly -25, I have a disability and cannot walk to get groceries. Now with all the devices we have, long distance friendships are super easy to achieve and maintain, but not too much just a few years ago. You know, people used to write letters in a paper with a pen or a pencil, and send those to the nearest postal office, those were called letters. Do you ever had a long distant friendship when the phones, internet and pc didn't exist? It last long? How old were you? Do you still writing letter?
Bluey
I had a Japanese pen pal about 50 years ago but after an earthquake never heard from her again. I currently write to a friend in America who hasn't got a computer but haven't heard from him for some time so will be writing to him very soon. Hope he is still around. There has occasionally been a gap in our letter-writing so I'm not too worried about it.

My husband & I have always made it important to buy each other a card on special occasions. Birthdays, Anniversaries, Christmas, Mothers & Fathers Day etc. We are now retired, cards are expensive & money is tight. There are many beautiful, meaningful cards & it is so nice to read them...

I spent the day at the VA hospital (Veterans Health Administration) in Boston yesterday with a friend who was having surgery and couldn t believe how clean it was and how kind and friendly everyone was. I was very impressed with their patient board which kept track of the stages he was in our veterans should always be treated with dignity.
Bugalugs
The VA Hospital isn't in Australia it is Boston USA.
Successive Federal, State and Territory Governments in Australia have been deliberately starving Australia's entire Health System of fundes for decades. It doesn't matter if they are from the Right or Left of politics. The Federal Government only wants to sqwuander untold hundreds of billions on Armaments and other Military equipment to "Protect Australia from foreign invasion" - they never actually tells us whom it is who is threatening Australia. The totally absurd thing about all this squandering of all that money, yes I know it is minuscule compared to the US and China, is that all of this equipment will be completely obsolete before any of it actually becomes operational! These absurd governments - since when does a country with just 26 million people need ONe Federal, 6 State & 2 Territory Governments?
All are now hell-bent on squandering even more billions on Space Exploration! As if they haven't, along with all the rest of the World's Politicians, made a big enough mess of our World without doing the same to others.
Spend all that money on Housing, Health and Education and stop warmongering. It is our Politicians and Religious Leaders who have been, and still are, responsible for All the Wars which have ever been waged.
Decent, Honest, Ordinary people want no part of those wars, yet they are the ones who are sent out to fight and die for the wars the politcians have deliberately, and are at present trying to create.

So from my since being a student till now and in order to earn a few extra bucks on the side I have towed Advert signs behind my Vespa, Driven cars off the Car ship vessels once they have arrived into Port, helped doing Post Mortem Dissections and commercially skinned O'possums. What's your most unusual paid job from the past ??
Tom S Qld
At a younger age, while I was still finding my feet - a glass bender. Yep, that was the job title.
Worked nights in front of a very large and very hot rotating furnace kiln. We had long poles and we reached into the flames and placed flat sheets of glass onto the molded seats, they went around inside the kiln and then rotated back into view, perfectly melted, molded and shaped. We then took them out and placed them to cool off.
It was quite complicated as there were 25 sheets of glass inside at any time. The molding seats came out with the glass and new seats had to be placed in and then new glass sheets had to be put onto them.5-man crew all working in harmony. If one man missed his task, then it would all stop.
On a good night we would shape 2000 glass molded ceiling lights.

I recently started doing surveys on Rewardia again after stopping for at least 6 months in protest of their pathetic rewards for doing surveys. I have since discovered that you can be wise in choosing the surveys so you are compensated more fairly. I would only do surveys of certain colours because they are worth 1000 points each and it tells you the survey duration so if it says 30 minutes, I just ditched it - $1 for 30 minutes of work is not worth it. But if it says...

Fully agree with you - the thing that really bugs me is that sometimes you do a survey, complete all the the questions so that they have all your information then the site kicks you out and the survey says "closed by user" zero points awarded

I've noticed that more men think that a Platonic relationship between adult people (where one person is a gender that the other person is attracted to) involves an ulterior motive, while more women think that true friendships can exist without an ulterior motive. What are your thoughts?
Bugalugs
It's the New year and the Misandry Campaign is, once again, off and running.
We hear, endlessly, about how Horrible, how Distrustful, how Devious, how Abusive, how Misogynistic men are. They are no longer allowed to express an opinion, they must never, ever dare to say they don't like some female, their clothes, their botoxed faces, artificially pumped up lips - the list of what men must not do and how cruel, unfeeling and hurtful they are is endless and on-going
BUT we never, ever hear, or rather are never allowed to hear that Females can be every bit as bastardly as any male BUT challenge them and they will claim they are "Exercising THEIR Right to Freedom of Speech and Expression"!
No apologies but Christina C's statement is typical misandrist nonsense, men are no more, nor less, likely to have ulterior motives than any woman.

I hope people are paying attention the survey rewards and NOT doing ones that offer ridiculous rewards for the time spent. This just encourages poor rewards for everybody. I have posted before that the general rule to see if the reward is at least fair is it shoukd equate to around $6 per hour. At one stage I gained 1168 points ( not that far off the leader board and it gave me 2 points! Have you ever felt completely drained in a close relationship - by a friend or a spouse? I did - it took me a long time to realise that all my energy is sucked out of me by a long time friend. With all this Facebook, Ticktock, Rewardia chat etc people can write anything that can have profound effects on gullible minds. Construction of statements carefully manipulating fact and fiction, laced with emotive fear arousing baits. Is it free speech or free banter? I wonder just how many people here on this forum are aware that since October 2021 that the Australian government can hack, quite legally, your social media accounts and alter and delete them for any reason whatsoever? It's called the Identify and Disrupt Bill which was passed at 2am on a Wednesday late in that month. Go and look it up on the Australian government website if you don't believe me. I was told this by my son who happened to be working with some Barristers who were visited by a man called Arthur, whom our previous female Premier in NSW had been in a relationship with at that time, just so people don't think I'm writing this with the view to commit some kind of fraud! I cannot watch MSM any longer because my research outside of this alleged "media sources" has led me to scientific research and resulting evidence leaving no room for me to conclude anything other than the following: that what is "news" content, at least as it relates to the"magic potion" killing and maiming people across the planet, is simply propaganda and theatre. I did not draw this conclusion without facts empirically derived from Researchers, Doctors and Scientists of many varied disciplines and I KNOW that my own government has lied and continues to lie about their own involvement in this charade. This is backed up in previously confidential documents detailing the Australian Military's involvement from decades ago of weaponising biological organisms through gain of function research and funding the same. I can say with clarity that freedom has never been SO under threat as it is now, not only because the government can come in and change your own words and remove them as they see fit, but because of the terms "misinformation" and"disinformation", but WHO decides this? I can see Big Tech's involvement but who among you are aware of the infiltration of WEF members, of whom Big Tech plays a leading role, in terminology used to discredit certain viewpoints. Just as the CIA coined the term "conspiracy theorist" to describe someone who thinks outside of the mainstream narrative and make them out to be "kooks", so too have Google, You Tube Twitter etc, who are all partners in this globalist agenda for a NWO where there will be no choices, no ownership of anything including your shoes, and certainly no privacy or freedom! If we lose the right to voice our own opinions today they will be gone tomorrow and NEVER return! If we don't want to live in a smart grid with cameras recording our every movement as it already is in China and adopt their credit score system, we all need to think about what it will be like for our children and THEIR children if we don't now say that enough is enough! Thanks for reading this.

I've noticed an increasing number of surveys (not just here) now want you to either download an app so they can track your online usage eg shopping etc or tv/ online video habits or want you to use a webcam. These are usually offering higher levels of rewards. I refuse to do any of these, as I find them way too intrusive, but was wondering how others feel about such activities. Are you ok with that sort of tracking or do you find it not acceptable?
Juwels
I too have noticed how many organisations are now asking me to turn on my webcam. I do not allow it especially as I was told by an IT specialist that even if you do not have it switched on you can still be seen by others. That scared the bejesus out of me.

If ever you are to choose in a relationship, which one would you prefer. Is it to be with SOMEONE YOU LOVE, but you aren't love back, or with SOMEONE WHO LOVES YOU, but you don't love?

Neither. My love was the best and we loved each other having 52 years of happy marriage before she died 13 years ago

Do you think it is difficult for people to relate to you, unless they have a similar background or upbringing? When I was younger there was a TV series (one Canadian and the other from the US) dedicated to doing this very thing. They would take 2 kids or teens, and have them switch places and live with the other's family for about 2 weeks or more. Mostly the city kids would switch with the kids from the countryside, but other times it would be experiencing...

Some people have a nightly before-bed ritual. Shower/bath, teeth, hair in rollers (am I showing my age, with that one?). herbal tea, or all or none of the above. I like to have a chamomile tea, a small slice of cheese and a few crackers, maybe a bit of fruit, if I'm feeling energetic - not usual - brush my teeth and occasionally clean my face with a cleanser wipe, say my prayers then hit the hay, usually between 10.00 and 11.00pm. What is your nightly routine?
WonkyandProud
I am alone and have depression and anxiety and no family. I do what I want when I want, but that doesn't fit into society. I might go to bed at 10 p.m. or 5 a.m. and sleep most of the day. I try to get my meds on time and eat once in a while. I hate routines. They were not made for me, but my counselors have been fighting me for years to get into a routine. If I'm happy, the world will have to adjust to MY schedule!

Some people believe we should be teaching our kids more worthwhile life lessons like how to cook, sew, mend or even drive. Instead of making it too academically focused. What do you think?
Leslie D 488751
When I was a kid we learnt to cook, clean, sew, mend, and everything else by our parents. I guess if both parents are working they have some kind of excuse for not teaching their children, but that is just an excuse. I know society has more academically minded dropouts now than we ever did. Is it because they can't, or don't want to, find work?

In terms of genes, what did you inherit from a relative? I inherited my grandfather's nose, but it's a female version. I inherited my hazel green eyes from (I am guessing) my Irish part of the family. How about you? And, feel free to add an environmental trait, if you don't know what you have inherited (i.e. are adopted). Like a habit picked up from those around you.

What are your thoughts about "value" we can find anywhere these days? You would think that paying more equals getting better, safer and healthier products of higher quality, but is it always the case?
Bugalugs
No of course a Higher Price does not mean better value. Take a trip into one of those very up-market Department Stores and those dinky little Boutiques offering, supposedly Designer Gear, Exclusive Brands by Haute Couture Houses of Fashion. Grossly over Priced garments but ALL Made in China, India, Bangladesh and other slave-to super-low Income countries. We went in to one of those Department Stores, up the escalator and into the Women's Fashion Floor. There at the top of the escalator was a display of a well-know designer. Faded Jeans with selectively placed "Tears", Price? A not-so-cool $695.00! The top? It looked liked a woman's vest-cum-Tee shirt with a tiny single row of "lace" around the neckline. The price? An equally not-so-cool $435.00!
My female companion unbuttoned the top couple of buttons on her blouse to reveal an identical top with exactly the same single row of "lace". Price at the Local Market? $15.00. Our local Op Shop sells faded Levi Jeans with naturally worn, strategically sited holes - just like the Designer jeans at $695 for just $10! - I know this because they were my jeans! The only reason I was not still wearing them was because I don't think it is appropriate for Mature Age Men and Women to dress as if they were in their late teens! Brand, Price and Designer Labels mean Nothing.

My favourite childhood memories are playing outside with friends. I remember we used to play cricket on the street and as long as we were home by dinner my parents would be happy, Unfortunately these days children are more likely to be inside on their tech devices instead enjoying time outside. I worked in a Nursing Home, where I witnessed an AIN pushing over a resident, calling him a stupid old man. I went straight to the Deputy to report it. She told me that I should be nice to this girl, because she was having a hard time at home. I was absolutely shocked that this could not only happen, but there were zero repercussions for someone who was supposed to be giving care to the frail, elderly residents.

What are your thoughts on people who live in places that experience extreme weather situations like regular flooding, tornado / cyclones, monsoonal weather, lots of snow? Do YOU live in an area that experiences any of these types of weather events?

How do you describe best friendships ? A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future and accepts you just the way you are. Good friends are like stars. One morning I went shopping and met an elderly woman then 85 who said hello but couldn't stop to chat as she was dashing off to an exercise class (she was the instructor) I felt so content after meeting this woman. My p.o.v, from the 12 year old me I'd say yes, it is important to go school and get good grades to get a good job for your future, but now? I wouldn't really know.. I've met people who say they finished school, had good grades and graduated all just to end up in McDonald's, apparently "grades" does not matter at all when it comes to a job? Thoughts?
ZoeC
School is not just about grades. School is about learning how to develop social skills, to negotiate, to converse, to organise your time, to learn about what is appropriate in different contexts ... the list goes on. These are all vital skills for the workforce. They may not help you get a job initially, but they will certainly help you keep it, and they improve your chances of progressing in work that you really enjoy.

The other day a woman told me that she feels insulted when a man opens a door for her. My jaw literally hit the floor. She believes men open doors because they think women are incapable. To answer your main question: No, members do not receive any extra points or rewards for placing on the leaderboard. It is purely for fun and friendly competition.
Regarding the top scores, we checked the game logs for the current top player, "Richo." We reviewed the time spent per game, browser data, and gameplay patterns, and we found absolutely no evidence of suspicious activity or cheating.
Some players have just mastered rapid typing and word patterns over years of practice!

My grandson's football team won their championship this weekend and both his parents were there supporting him. They drive the boys to their soccer, football, basketball and hockey practices and games. They send them out onto the field, the rink or the court, not telling them to win, but just to do their best and have fun. That is how it should be, but for so many parents it is not. Unfortunately, there's sports parents who take it way too seriously, so they resort to heckling the officials (who quite often are not even adults), the opposing team, other parents, and things sometimes get physical. Relax, let your kids have fun. The chances of them reaching the professional levels, let alone the top pro levels are so small. And yes, those kids with those awful parents will pick up on that and are more likely to become like that themselves in adulthood.

We know and some of us think electric vehicles are actually good for the environment but what about for the economy, considering the electricity consumption when charging, and where quite substantial tax payers funds are being spent for building charging infrastructure to be installed?
Andrew C 287196
Electric vehicles are no better for the environment than normal petrol / diesel cars. In some ways electric vehicles are actually worse. Massive amounts of money is being wasted on the idea. 🙁
Added to the problems are all the gadgets and gizmos (ebikes, escooters, mobile phones, tablets, "smart" this, AI that) which all need constant recharging, plus the enormous amounts of electricity to run the servers, as well as the materials need to make all those batteries.
If you really want an enviromentally-friendly transport option, we should be using Flintstones-style vehicles ... stick your feet through the floor and run along the ground. 😉

This is another very simply throw together recipe using only a small number of ingredients. 8 chicken drumsticks or 4 diced chicken breasts. 1 x 400 ml can of apricot nectar. 1 x packet of french onion soup. Sour cream (optional). Water if mix becomes too thick. Mix apricot nectar and a third of the soup mix. Keep in mind that the packet mix can be salty. You can add more later depending on your own taste. Likewise add water if it becomes too thick. Add the...

We have a Senior Citizen who goes out and walks after being transported to the local Senior Center. Then she comes in to eat and expects me to save her seat for her. She get really angry when someone else sits in the place where she wants to sit to eat. My question is HOW to handle this situation. This other poor Senior Citizen left another table cause a lady there decided he was her boyfriend. This guy just comes there to eat. He is NOT interested...

You're not obligated to save a seat for her. Tell her you don't feel comfortable doing that since there's no assigned seating.

This is one of my favourite dishes, it has a lot of ingredients but collecting them all is worth the effort. The chicken can be omitted or substituted if you are a vegetarian. It contains a small amount of chilli that does not overpower the dish. 1 kg cubed chicken 3 tbs butter 1 diced onion 1 tbs ground ginger garlic to own taste 1 tsp cumin 1 tsp garam masala 1 tsp ground coriander ½ teaspoon chili powder ½ teaspoon turmeric 1 cinnamon stick salt to own taste ¼...

I'm not a very good cook so I cheat wherever I can.

Extras - Small can coconut cream 1 stock cube 2 cloves crushed garlic Half an onion (sliced ) 1tsp turmeric. Vegies ( I used half a carrot, a few beans ,beanshoots, ...

A highly sought after Malaysian Cook/Chef called Junta Khoo was on with a similar dish!
I bet that your recipe is equally good and somewhat less fraught with danger to make!
I will make this recipe and enjoy. Thank you.
