Does anyone else feel as though time is speeding up? Or is it just my mother and I, who feel this way? It just seems like, one minute it's Monday, and, what seems like only 5 minutes later, it's Friday. (Well, maybe a little longer, but you get the drift). Love to hear your thoughts, on this one.

it is our perception of time that changes. you feel time is "flying by" as you get older. go back to your early years, ie about 6 to 10 years of age. your birthday, christmas, school holidays, easter, they all seemed to take forever to get there. it is all your age perception. ask a person in a convalescent home who lay in bed all day, bet their time goes very slowly

Does anyone notice weather changes in air pressure affecting their joints, aches and pains? A physio said there is anecdotal evidence people with certain conditions appear to act like a barometer. I know I have predicted rain when it was not on the radar.

During cold weather my knees ache. Rarely both and walking is painful. I usually put on the stretch supports and this helps. Yet this cold weather my knees are fine. I have had one dry eye for a year now. I have tried many drops. Just recently I tried another more intensive drops recommended by the Pharmacist. I thought this is great my first night went very well. Next night I awoke with the same problem. Not as bad but who knows tonight. It is horrible when the whole eyelid sticks to the whole eye ball. Scary especially when it impairs your vision. Getting old is not pleasant.

I've always felt sorry for smokers, they are demonised by everyone. Yet governments don't mind taking revenue from tobacco tax. What a pity smokers can't be treated like human beings instead of pieces of garbage.

Now they are going to ban Vapes which are giving people the chance to come off cigarettes to vapes. I was a smoker for many years and thanks to Vapes I have weaned myself off nicotine after only 3 years of vaping.

Australia has let people down who want to learn a trade or in agriculture. Employers found it expensive and hard to accommodate an apprentice who needs to attend college in the bosses time for long periods. In some trades there may only be one trades person who has employed an apprentice and without the apprentice the trades person cannot do his work as he has no assistance. Some of the training should be done in the time of the apprentice not the employer. Proper training...

We need to bring back the Technical Colleges we used to have that taught young people who preferred to work with their hands parallel with High Schools where young people's capabilities belong in the academic arena. Australia should be concentrating on advancing the schooling needs of our own young people and not investing in the education of overseas students who either go back and take their knowledge to their own country or stay and soak up the employment here leaving our qualified brilliant young people to what? Go on the pathetic dole and be labelled "dole bludgers". We need to think smart, act smart and we will have our own smarter home grown workforce. Keep it simple and keep it here.

Live TV at one point dictated what we did and when...being able to record it... loosened that hold...but now...even the channels store their own content...and streaming from other sources makes live TV increasingly meaningless...it was seldom ever live in the first place...and you can get better live news elsewhere anyway...and earlier...is there any point in it being there anymore?...who watches it?

How can something "LIve" be dead? When we first got our TV, in the olden days, mainly used it for entertainment ie watching the flicks. It is not a member of our family like pets are. It is our servant to meet are needs which is not as luxurious as some. hank goodness for free to air it still serves us well.

So before having a child I have seen mothers clubbing etc. Fathers doing same. After baby, mother compromise and stay home to look after but fathers continue with same life. Why is that the case and what can change that.

We both worked til I decided to chuck in my job because I was sick of daycare spending more time with the kids than us. I was also earning more as a labourer than my partner in the foundry. I never wanted a night out clubbing and he stopped going to his Friday nights out with the boys after work. It wasn't about us anymore but our boys so our social lives were irrelevant. And he may wear the pants in the house but I'm the one that buys them! Lol!

If the International Olympic Committee want to have one, then they should PAY to set up a site dedicated to it and just hold it there forever, like a corporate headquarters. I believe it is a waste of money. I know someone who spends $30 a week and others even more. Calculate that over a year and that could go towards a holiday or something you might need in the house. I prefer to work for what I have and manage my own expenses. Sometimes money can bring more issues than it is worth.

I can remember the feeling of satisfaction when we used to get paid in cash, kept a little for expenses, train or bus fares lunch money and paid board and the rest got put in the bank and it stayed in the bank. None of this direct deposit and losing track of how much gets withdrawn bit by bit for all and sundry to track where you spent what.
I only use PayPal to receive survey payments and am quick to transfer it to a real bricks and mortar bank account. Don't like the way the banking system is heading with all the online no face to face person contact ... not knowing who of what purpose your money is being used as it accumulates a pitance in interest.

Austria almost all day care needed are free. In some others country children have better place for child to go children care. So what do you think and why.

Whatever happened to cars being sold either new or used with a spare tire in the boot? What is a driver supposed to do if they get a flat tire when on a long trip? Are we all supposed to pay and have someone waste their time to fix the tire. If this is what is expected of drivers today, then why have a wheel brace and a jack in the boot for the sole purpose of changing a tire!

Many, many years ago, I worked as a childcare worker and if you witnessed what I saw working in various centres, you WOULDN'T place your kid in childcare. But it's not only the safety aspect. Parents are missing out on their children's important moments. Their first baby steps. Their first word. You can never get that again. Raise your kids yourself!

Have you seen how big strawberries are now? They look like they're on steroids. Fruit is seasonal, it's not meant to be eaten all the year around. All these preservatives and crap they throw into our foods is what is causing our food intolerance and gut issues

Food is tastiest when in season (that is why there are seasons). Preserving was invented so we could have fruit and vegetables out of season/stock up for winter/not waste a good growing season.
I believe lots of gut issues and intolerances go further back than just today's preservatives. Best health information is, and always has been "eat everything in moderation". Unfortunately, when women are pregnant, they are told by "experts" not to eat this or that while they are pregnant and this is the first stop to helping the eliminated food become recognised as an allergen to the immune system of the forming foetus. These people then "breast feed" for the best of their child but still eliminate these foods for health reasons so, by the time the food is introduced to the child, the child's natural immune response is "this should not be in my body and needs to be attacked" (allergic reaction)

A lot of my neighbors, here in the States, have "Ring" doorbells installed. Or, another type of technology to replace their "doorbells". Another thing, many have so many gadgets, from speakers to their light fixtures being operated through the internet. Over the years I have had to have several of my pets put down. It is not an easy decision to make, but sometimes it is the only answer. I have always stayed with my dog or cat when it is being done. I had a vet tell me once that one of the hardest things for her to do, was to put an animal to sleep without an owner being present. She said the animal would look around the room searching for their loved one. Most of the time these animals are in pain, they are in a strange...

As hard a decision as it is, when the time comes it is the most humane, loving act you can do for them. I have held my 19 year old cat as he went over the Rainbow Bridge. It was quick and he was at peace. My sister recently had her faithful old Ridgeback euthanised. Her back legs paralysed and erratic breathing indicated her lungs were filling with fluid. The whole family was with her as she passed. If only we could have this option when our human family\u2019s time has come\u2026 my Dad was in agony for weeks before his passing.

We have private rooms for private messaging via Google.... people's pictures can be put up via their avatars and now added to things like their recipes and discussions or polls .
These can either be personal photographs or taken from another social media source like pinterest or facebook or instagram ..all of which constitutes copying and pasting / sharing posts / uploading from one social media site to another ! We can like or comment on eachother's forum posts in the chats otherwise known as a thread ... Keeping safe online here is still very much warranted as are the rules for using other social media sites. Yes we have limitations here ,but there is live chat in the bingo room and the ability to share video clips from media sites along with putting up with a multitude of annoying advertising , people's mad misinformation and some trolls even .. yep I would most definitely call this a social media website ;)

Maybe it's just me, but have you found that when you order some kit set furniture like bunk beds, or shelving units etc. You get MOST of what you need? And usually there are some missing bolts, or the joints don't quite line up etc, what has been your experience? Also, do you try to send it back, or just figure it out and make it work??

What has gone wrong with the young males of today. Another school embroiled in young men taking the faces/head photos of social media and doing an AI attachment of a nude body to them and posting so many on line. Where has their common decency gone. Lack of respect towards girls and women has become endemic in recent years. WHY......? Are parents, schools, older generations not teaching them? Are they just brats who think they are cute or funny? We have been able to do this with photos (without AI) for over 30 years...anybody who is skilled can do this in Photoshop...so what has changed recently?....little girls now spend hours photographing themselves.. pouting and vamping it up...with their new phones and post them all over the internet...and little boys have easy access to to these..and pornography....and also now have software that makes attaching heads to bodies so easy that every moron can do this to a reasonable level....what's changed?...technology...that's all...if you don't want your head attached to a naked body stop posting it everywhere... in multiple views. different lighting and angles.. online....easy to use.....you know it can happen...just wake up and pay attention....if they made the software illegal it would stop immediately...

So I have 34 pending surveys and the HIGHEST point survey rates is one of 275 points. Yes 27 cents. Ummmm. The difficulty in such a survey completion is to know where to safely invest such a large sum. But I notice the top one (A 275 points Orange Survey) shows it is just a total survey of 1 minute long survey to complete it as noted by Rewardia. UmmmI thought. I will do it but then it as usual the survey asks me endless questions...

As a kid I hitch hiked all over Europe..I thought Denmark would be laid back like Sweden or Finland...but the bike gangs there are violent...I was hunted through the outer suburbs of a major city by a gang with bike chains and knives...maybe 9 in total...after money or passports or whatever..for over an hour...I climbed up into a building site and watched them cirlcling...scary stuff...they knew I was there...I just saw something about Danish Bike Gangs on the news...

The sleeping Arabs at Tehran airport with their turbans were a bit of a shock as an 11yr old from down under I would say ,, apart from that I was suprised in Fiji at having to say Bula ( hello) to everyone basically from the airport security ,cleaners ,police in their long skirts ... everyone! At first I was getting exhausted from it a bit . And they will eyeball you coming your way too so you don't miss the opportunity. If you take a look back in history, carrying a few extra pounds was a sign of wealth because rich people were the only ones that could afford fattening food. Fast forward to 2020 and junk food is cheaper than healthy food and poor people are fatter than rich people. One would assume if we were to raise the price of junk food exponentially. Growing your own food can be cheaper and healthier. With the rising cost of produce, many of my family and friends started growing more produce. I myself grow a few things which I find taste better as there is no need for insecticides/chemicals. Have you tried growing your own produce?

We moved to a rural property - a year ago tomorrow, actually - and since then I have grown potatoes, kumara (sweet potatoes for those outside NZ), NZ yams, carrots, cauli, broccoli, capsicums, corn, onions (red and brown), spring onions, pumpkins, beans, snowpeas (mange tout), leeks, cabbages (red and savoy), spinach, silverbeet, swede, daikon radish, beetroot, garlic, rhubarb, courgettes (zucchini), several varieties of tomatoes and herbs and attempted eggplant (aubergine) but was unsuccessful with those as I planted them too late in the season. We have also harvested feijoas, lemons, limes, mandarins and peaches from trees that were already established on the property. We also have chickens for eggs. I have made several batches of pasta sauce, tomato relish, peach jam, onion marmalade and feijoa chutney. I also make my own Irish soda bread, naan bread and focaccia. We are loving the flavours of fruit and veges fresh from the garden and are looking to add more gardens so we can grow more produce.

When did publishers think that magazines should have articles printed on coloured backgrounds? These last few years it's been rife. Perhaps they're in cohorts with opticians because its practically impossible to read and may be causing eye problems - dark brown background printed with black writing or pink pages printed with yellow writing.It may look pretty and 'now', but if you can't read it, what's the point of publishing it. In Australia...1 kg of sugar always cost $1....for a really long time....then a few years ago...it went up to $1.09...and finally $1.10...OK...three weeks ago all new supplies of sugar are now $1.60...no natural disasters...no explanation and absolutely no apology from anyone...I've told people and they say it doesn't matter and why am I complaining...am I the only person to have noticed this?...and does everyone else think that this is quite normal?....if they did that...

I stock up on non-perishables at sale time. I've never paid full price for hair colour or washing detergent: I wait until they're on sale for 50% off, then buy two or three packs. I buy new boots at the end of winter sales & sandals & swimwear at the end of summer. I'm more concerned about comfort & quality than the latest fashions. For larger items like furniture, I wait until post-Xmas or end of financial year sales. I also sew a lot of my own clothes - that saves a LOT!

Last night I let the dog out and the air was so sickening. During my sleep I was woken up by a blocked nose and the smell from outside had seeped into my room. I could not sleep so I got up for a cup of tea instead. I felt better and was able to breath easier. This happens nearly every month. Why I have no idea. Why not every night? I don't think that people are too different between all the various states in Australia...and I think that this applies in the USA as well. I don't understand why Queenslanders cannot buy alcohol in a supermarket ... or why Victorians can buy certain drugs in theirs ... is driving at 110 only the best speed in certain states..and in others it is set at 100?.....there is really very little difference between us...it IS just one country...why can't we just have one...

I so enjoyed Emma Kate's recent discussion on favourite songs for her playlist and then started thinking about the first cassette tape i ever bought- which was in the 80s. It was Human League. I was a student at a Technical Institute and was living away from home for the first time and in a Halls of residence. Having my music cassette player going was great and i remember friends making those mix tapes with some many great songs on them.

How did it happen?.....it was a gradual process, starting in the 1970's when gay men started wearing trainers when they had no intention to do any training...that quickly spread to the whole population...then we had "girl power" which meant the only way to be equal to men was to wear your bra on the outside and wander around half naked...this has now filtered down to the general population...it can be a blessing or a curse depending on how much fat is crammed into very small quantities of a semi see through stretch material....each to their own....

Why are so many people rude to supermarket staff. We are human too we have good days and bad days. We have things going on outside of work that we worry / stress about. It's not our fault something isn't in stock or has run out. We have zero control over what the company we work for does!

Is it just me or is anybody else experiencing this. When playing a game on Rewardia, have you notice that it freezes up for a few seconds and then moves on. I'm not sure it's my computer because it is fairly new and I don't notice this on anything else I do except for playing games on Rewardia. For me this has been happening for maybe a month or so. Let me know please.

Yes, I've had this problem with several games. I contacted Rewardia to see if there was something wrong with the game(s) but they say they work okay for them! My fault again of course.
