I have a disability and my brother is always having a go at me and wants things done his way and his former wife was very good with me and when they were together if my brother was bossing me around I didn't talk to him but talked to her - and it caused friction. With all the stress associated with being able to afford Christmas gifts, I and my and extended family all try to make an original present - like a hand done painting - sprinkled with 'gold' dust you can get from the dollar shop, home made granola or just painted glass bottles with dried herbs from the garden.
