Maybe it's just me however, the considered opinion of others would be appreciated. Over the past few months I have noticed two things, one: surveys are getting markedly longer in duration and second: the points awarded for these longer surveys are getting less and less. And you never know when you're going to be cheated and robbed of points on a red survey. Serve me right for thinking I'd get get full points upon 100% completing a survey. How is it that I don't qualify when I've fully completed a survey, given my political views, and spent all that time working on the survey. Why do these people waste our time? FB has opened up my world and let me communicate really easily with all my family and friends who are scattered around the world. IT has linked me to many groups which I use daily. Lately I've been reporting fake business accounts who are trying to scam people...and only getting automated replies that fail to fix the issue. Replies that tell me the fake accounts aren't breaking any of their rules! What the!!!!!!

I was just realizing today (and maybe a lot of you already realized) that when taxable items go up in price, the govt taxes are also increased. That bottle of shampoo that was 10 dollars with 1.13 added in tax is now 15 dollars and 1.95 in taxes. I only realized this because I heard a tv commentator talk about how much extra revenue the govt is collecting now due to the higher price of fuel at the pumps. Huh? You are just now realizing that success in finances leads to higher taxes and higher prices because now you can afford the taxes and prices. Did you also know tht most stores will move the fresh new stock from the front to the back of the shelves? I learned that trick as a lad from my Mama and to this day, I never take from the front and if there is only one or two of the item left, I will read the use by dates. If the use by date only just expired it is still good for a month or more depending on the type of item. I get rent rebate refunds in PA and already since that amt is almost $800 USD, my landlord is hinting at jumping my rent up from $700 a month to $950 a month! Why? I live in a quite suburb where there are not any high rise building. Over 8 years ago, this family move in, built a new home with no space for a car. This family is a builder so any given day they have up to 9 vehicles at one time including vans, small trucks, SUVs, station wagon, people movers. On top of it almost every weekend they have parties or at least many visitors which put more more pressure to street parking, to the point that the neighbourhood do not have street...

Time to move I think......as an aside...I used to live in Paris on the fourth floor of a tall building...ratbags would park their cars up on the (tiny) pavement in front of my front door (the road was small)...so I had to wriggle around the vehicle to get out...THEN I started to drop full wet coffee filters from my "dripolater" coffee machine..from my window, onto any car's roof who parked there...you would hear the odd swearing down below when they got back to their cars....but it only took a week or so...and then NOBODY ever parked there again....not sure that helps...but it was effective..

I would turn to Eastern medicine. Western medicine tends to focus on the 99 that died rather than the one who lived -- they don't mind prescribing addictive drugs either. I like that Eastern medicine is natural and holistic.

It was lovely to see the West Indies beat us in a test. The young Joseph was brilliant and they were just so thrilled. It will bring a lot more interest back to the game as just having India, Australia and England as competitors was getting a bit ho hum and seeing how some of the people in these teams carry on was off putting. However, to see the joy and happiness in the West Indies team from the players to the staff was just uplifting. I hope they continue...

From time to time I like to get a pedicure and a manicure at one of the various nail salons, I am happy with how my nails and toes look but I don't like how the beauty therapist cannot speak English or at least say hello. Does anyone else find that annoying when the staff talk in there language or just plainly ignore you?

You say "annoying", but I say "suspicious": I've had to accept my inner-instincts when I go near one of those salons/spas....my gut knows their smiles are fake, most can't /won't communicate properly- which screams that they're merely fronting for something else (just money or ?whatever else?). So for about 15 yrs, I've shied away from every invitation (by my kids trying to gift me with such a visit) to have them touch me or my hair. I bought about a full set of stuff and do my own at home....in my own time too!!
Sometimes, I think it's even better to have about 2-8 girlfriends and get each other's nails and hair done(house-party) - at least we would communicate, smile and get along just fine, while saving a ton o' $$$$!

The levee built along one side of the river is going to redirect their share of the flood water to the hundreds of homes on the other side meaning their homes could possibly completely go underwater as we saw in parts of QLD and NSW earlier this year.
Thier council has had more than enough time to build a levee on BOTH sides of that river but chose NOT to protect the hundreds of homes on that other side.
This is therefore NEGLECT and ignorance by that council, therefore the residents of those hundreds of homes that are not being protected should be able to take "Class Action" against that council for costs of damages to their homes and personal property ( but of course, if they did that and won the court case the council will massively increase rates to cover the cost of the compensation payout

First off thanks Geoffrey for this as I will explain a little later. I must say once I mention my age do not get some surveys. However, I feel that this is because companies want certain people with children etc. I am annoyed when I keep getting ones asking have you been on a diet program which comes up frequently and when the answer is no I do not count. I wonder if any have answered yes and they go on to be able to complete. However all in all I consider myself lucky and most days will get over 1000 points but sometimes even $2000. Very good and also there is the fact that if you are bored and really just not feeling like doing anything there are the games. lol

Procrastination is such an unhelpful state to be in and I hate it when I procrastinate but I am human and it happens. It happens before gym workouts, it happens before massive career decisions. It happens before cleaning the house. But I always feel better after any task is done and often wonder why I procrastinated in the first place. Surely others feel like this too?

No I am the type that if it needs doing, do it. I do believe one has to think on big issues that might affect you, others, finance, job etc. before making such a major change or decision but to dither for ages is not a good state to be in for yourself or others it might affect. I usually go with my gut feeling and it has not steered me wrong yet and I am in my 70's.

Sounds like food I grew up on, cheap and filling! You could add a little bit of mustard too for a bit more of a kick but I would always use the bits in the pan after cooking to make some lovely gravy which is great with the rissoles and the potatoes! Simple comfort food! Thanks for sharing.

I have felt 100+ for the last six weeks. Lied on the couch day and night for two weeks straight with gout in 10 toes. Side effect from anaesthetia I was told by ED doctors. Just starting to feel like my spritely 72 years again. I was thrilled when a shop assistant at Chemist Warehouse quizzed about the tart cherry juice i had just purchased. Hi Annette , first of congratulations on bubs ! And I gather it's your partner then who will have the optimal care of your little one while you are at work ?. If so, you should soon feel comfortable knowing he/ she is well taken care of in-between naps and you may get some cute little updates in your work breaks from your partner on daily progress .
l found going back to work just for 2 half days was a great social break and gets you back to feeling a bit more like a regular person,(, sleep deprived and a bit cluckier or madder over some things) but if you find it's too much don't be afraid to cut down hours until you feel ready . I think though, if you like your job and the people there are supportive you will just ease back into a nice routine . Best of luck ;)
