Both my spouse and I met later in life, neither one of us had ever been married before. Curious if the way we navigate our relationship is the same as those that get married in their 20s, or if being more mature changes things. We are both very independent people, we lived on our own prior to meeting. We did live together for a few years prior to getting married.
Catalina
Have a happy, long life together! Maturity might help you in that, but there are other difficulties arising from two previously very independent people living together. You seem to be over the adjustments so...that’s great.

I recently wrote a Rewardia Bingo Poem and I wondered if there were any bingo poets within our Bingo community. . . . . Poem has to be original and preferably with some humour. Just a bit of fun about the magnificent Rewardian Bingo World that we all mostly have become ridiculously addicted to while enjoying enormous point scores (he he!) They don't have to be as long as my example , but can if you are inspired. On a rather messy planet, a silly idea...

Can't help feel you are a bit more than frustrated about what's happening. You are not alone. Many of us agree but we are the little people, many of whom have also lived through World War 2, Vietnam, Afghanistan. We could not stop any of those horrible encounters. Are we any better prepared than we were then? As the saying goes "It's blowing in the wind".

There are some clothing fashions around that I find really ugly, and I always find myself wondering who on earth would buy them. It's not only the style, but the colours are mostly dull and uninspiring as well. At the end of each season, I have a bit of a laugh because I often see these ugly clothes in the clearance bin. Are there any fashions, if any, that make you cringe?

I'm sure that everyone has seen or at least heard of this movie 'Groundhog Day'. Story of Phil Connors, who becomes trapped in a time loop, forcing him to relive February 2 repeatedly in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. Remember? So, let's imagine that you've been forced for one year to relive the same day. Time loop for a year. What time do you want to come back to? Which day of your life would you choose?

We are using systems and organisations that are well past their use by date, Politics, money ideas, infrastructure, just to start the list all belong in centuries past.

I recently took on a position and found myself in such a toxic work environment (in a Professional office) that it literally made me sick for two months. When the issue was addressed about where the behavior was coming from, it was put off as a "misunderstanding" because I was new. Many people say never go to H.R because it makes you look bad and because it won't be resolved. It will be investigated but if no proof because the toxic atmosphere happens when the boss...

In my last job a woman who thought she was my supervisor (she was in fact a co-worker) said “do you think I give a &@^% about anything you have to say”. Not willing to put up with that behaviour I walked into my boss’s office and handed in my immediate resignation. He asked why, I told him and he asked me to wait for 10 minutes whilst he sorted out the matter. He called a department meeting and made her apologise to me in front of everyone. I stayed at the company for many years and was very grateful when she was transferred to another location.

Has anyone ever noticed how the models in the anti aging cream ads don t look old enough to have wrinkles. When are the sponsors going to wake up to the fact that women of Australia are not stupid, only elderly women have wrinkles not 40-year-olds. If they want us to believe these ads, then use models of 60 + who would have wrinkles and see if these creams actually work, or maybe they don t want us to know the truth .
Gigi
Silliest question ever. Of course they don't want us to know the truth. That's called MARKETING. And our skin has protective layers, and these creams can't even get to the layers that need restorative therapy in the first place. So disappointed in how the women of the world are so caught up in any fad, no matter the cost, to stay looking young. Hey, you!!!!!!! If you are old enough to have wrinkles, I'm smart enough to see them. No matter how much of that cream you put on everyday to make your insecure self feel "younger". Age is a number, not defined by grey hair or lines on your face. It's called natural degeneration and IT'S NOT YOUR ENEMY. Wisdom of life is far more valuable.. You'll never find me falling for STUPID, no matter how it's advertised. So wake up humans and grow a brain. Read more. You'll be much more beautiful for being able to carry on a conversation and having a great personality. Not your eye cream that's not helping, and not your clothes label hidden where no one can see what it says. Your not impressing me. Btw, I'm 52 and look fabulous and am beautiful and don't throw my money away. I'm as God intended me to be.

In December 2022 the television media and Jim Chalmers announced that on the 1st of January 2023, all Australian pensioners will receive a pension payment "Cost of Living" increase of $27-90 per fortnight for singles and over $40 for couples. I still have NOT received the above-promised increase... Have YOU received it??? When I contacted Centerlink to find out when I will get that increase they told me they have NOT heard about that...

If you walk down a sidewalk when they fix it, they don t make sure it is level. Store have small lips or steps just before you go into a strip plaza. Malls isles aren t wide enough. Old restaurant do even have to be handicap friendly. How can we fix this problem.

In Armadale we have a shopping centre near us where the whole front pathway of the shops is sloping. It is hairy when trying to negotiate this and feeling like you are going to tip over. One shop in the same suburb is renowned for having boxes and boxes of goods stuck in their aisles. Trying to negotiate this last year, I knocked over a pile of boxes and smashed at least one large ornament and probably more in those boxes. It is so frustrating! Have not been back in there since but have observed from outside the shop that their aisles are slightly better, but far from acceptable yet!. On the other hand my Woolworths in Kelmscott has wide clear aisles free from obstructions. And apart from that, they are always helpful and considerate. Most Woolies shops have the same wide aisles and clear pathways and on behalf of us with wheelchairs, may I say a huge thank you to them. How can we fix the problem - stick all the powers that be in wheelchairs and send them off for a day to shop! Perhaps that might wake them up.
Edit: Wow, I just noticed some of the comments on here and am really gobsmacked! We do not expect perfection, but let me just say that money can be found for many minority groups who are always in the media, we can find money to float a republic, have a debate about putting an first nation voice in parliament, give pay rises to politicians who don't deserve them (some do), and fund hundreds and thousands of dollars worth of fireworks, political lunches and heaps of other selfish causes. But a ramp into a shopping centre or an even entry - wow, aren't we selfish and entitled???!!! Hope some of you don't get to the stage where you face some of the problems we do!

One thing that is quite prevalent and common in the world is drug use and homelessness. Government always talk about having program to help for rehabilitation and housing, but it seldom ever really works. What would be a smarter, more efficient, and realistic way to help deal with these growing issues?
PatCat
There are many empty industrial buildings which could be modified to make "low cost housing" but many of the homeless feel they do not wish to live with their fellow man due to mental illness. Our charities do their best to provide food and short term housing for as many as they can but the provision of mental health assistance has become even harder in Australia since Psychiatric hospitals were closed.

Technology has hit restaurants...they may try and make you order using your smartphone. Your orders are punched in on a pad on the till...or via an I-pad or similar at your table...all this information is printed out in the kitchen...each person has their own printer, so everything should work. So, how is it almost impossible for four people to order a meal in a restaurant, and then receive their meals at the same time? When they had order pads and pencils...and a head chef...

During COVID-19, all schools were closed and everyone had to work and study online. Usually almost everyone always wished to work from home but once they actually had to do it, that s when it wasn t so funny or comfortable as imagined. So now that we can go out again. If you have the option to send your kids to school or do the same thing online, what would you do?
Agonis
I am home-schooling my children and they have regular meetups with the other children that are also homeschooled in the area. I was already studying online when covid happened. I much prefer working and studying from home as there are fewer interruptions. My son has thrived in homeschooling as he has the option of choosing what he studies (within reason) he has additional needs and there are no small class options in the area so this works best for him and we did not utilize technology, he has been doing pen and paper, educational books and social skills by visiting the community centres to see other homeschooled families.

Have you ever have the symptoms of a panic attack or severe anxiety to the point where you thought maybe it was more a heart attack than a physiological reaction to extreme stress? For many of the millions of sufferers of panic and anxiety attacks worldwide, it can really be a frightening experience to think you might actually be having a heart attack, which we all know can be fatal, if indeed it is your heart. Has this ever happened to you, and you care to share?
BLM
I have had severe physiological reaction to extreme stress - but I grow up - in 'rough neighborhoods' in the USA. I was able to identify the 'stimulus' - as I got older - (alcohol abuse, criminal justice, systemic racism, street drugs, police, etc.). It is everyday life for a minority in the USA (coping with racial discrimination) - 'dealing' with severe anxiety - Blacks have the second lowest life expectancy in the USA! I (personally) never let it 'get' to the point (panic attack) - were I thought it was a heart attack or I would already be DOA at a hospital!

Does anyone really understand fully what Bitcoin is and how it works and what the ups and downs of it really are? Some big Bitcoin company just went belly up and why? If this is the latest and greatest way to invest or grow your money(I don't know if it's about investments or there's more to it), then why did a huge, leading company just go bankrupt. Any explanations from you math and money nerds out there? And I say that with all the love for numbers people one...
Tom S Qld
What is bitcoin?
Simply put, bitcoin is a digital currency. No bills to print or coins to mint. It's decentralized -- there's no government, institution (like a bank) or other authority that controls it. Owners are anonymous; instead of using names, tax IDs or social security numbers, bitcoin connects buyers and sellers through encryption keys. And it isn't issued from the top down like traditional currency; rather, bitcoin is "mined" by powerful computers connected to the internet.
How does one 'mine' bitcoin?
A person (or group, or company) mines bitcoin by doing a combination of advanced math and record-keeping. Here's how it works. When someone sends a bitcoin to someone else, the network records that transaction, and all the other transactions made over a certain period, in a "block." Computers running special software -- the "miners" -- inscribe these transactions in a gigantic digital ledger. These blocks are known, collectively, as the "blockchain," an eternal, openly accessible record of all the transactions that have ever been made.

I lost one of my best mates to a drug overdose. I wasn't there, I didn't know, and I could not help him. I know two people that I used to chat to and have a laugh with ... who both threw a rope over a pipe in the ceiling and hanged themselves at work ...

I hope that the people that you mentioned are just plain frightened by the prospect of suicide. I'm sure they don't understand just how hopeless life can seem for some. Many people that I knew thought I was doing just fine. I had almost everything that I wanted, like so many people, but I came a couple of doctors visits from taking my own life. Circumstances, being what they were at the time, left me feeling so lost and hopeless that I couldn't see any way out.
A good doctor and some very good drugs no have me living again with some hope for the future. No, these feelings are no joke and need to be diagnosed and treated as soon as possible. You have no idea just how many lives would be adversely affected if you go all the way.

The middle class was once a symbol of the American dream. It meant financial security and an opportunity for a better future. But that portrait of the American middle class is quite different today. The "Middle Class" has already disappeared in Australia and it is entirely the fault of that same Middle Class!
Once, and it is not so long ago, a young couple were content to get a modest loan and buy a modest house and then, as time went by, gradually buy a better house to accommodate their family, leaving their older, more modest house for younger people so that they, too, could start achieving the Great Australian Dream: A Home of their own.
Then a New God, with absolutely nothing to do with religion reared it's evil head.
Its name is GREED.
No longer were those starting out content with that modest, affordable house. They wanted the Biggest House they could find.
It was reported recently that Australia is building the Biggest House in the World.
Not only do these younger people want the Biggest, Most Expensive houses they also want to have everything which opens and shuts and, preferably, without them having to lift a finger as it is all programmed, the lights come on so that the house is ablaze with lights when they get home, the Aircon is left on all day, the pool is ready, the garage is big enough to hold 2, 3 or 4 Range Rovers, Lexus, Mercedes and the children are returned by their ersatz parents to the parents who bred them. Every child Must have her/his own bedroom - no sharing.

Have you or someone you know who was 21 or younger had a court grant you custodial guardianship over your younger siblings? No need for explanations why, unless you choose to tell about it. How do you feel about children under 21 being given legal guardianship over their blood relatives? Is that a responsibility too large for a "not quite an adult" yet? Or should other arrangements be made for the legal and physical care of children underage who no longer have their parent to...

Are we, though? I've read the labels and Terms and Conditions on smartphones, electronics, among other things and I wonder sometimes. It sure looks like we are being experimented with or the manufacturers just don't care about us (No surprise there). Radiation warnings, Cancer warnings and Reproductive Harm warnings are popping up. I was going to buy a pair of shoes! Shoes! And, they had a warning label of possible Reproductive Harm. Seriously? That's so sick.
APB
Many years ago now...a prominent scientist in the area of radiation was employed by the mobile phone industry to finally and totally debunk the harmful effects of using a mobile phone...his final report was never used and he concluded that use of a mobile may result in some damage to the users brain...and in fact damage the user's DNA....that report is still available on line...and this was just for earlier mobiles ...not the smart phones that we cannot live without

Do you have a nickname that you go by in your regular day-to-day life? How about a pet name from your significant other, if you have one. Sometimes they are private or personal, so if that's the case, please don't participate. Get your reward point and move on to something that suits you. Thank you ahead of time to those that are contributory.

Nicknames are childish. Nicknames are not pet names. In some eras Nickname were insulting. we are really scaping the barrel

I got my significant other a new pressure cooker, because he makes rice almost every day for himself to eat, and I thought they were the best thing for rice. But he won't use it. Says he likes his old method (just making it in a pot on the stove). He never even tried the new pressure cooker I got him! Anyway, so I've never used one myself. Looks like you can use it for almost anything! What do you like to cook in it?
Dada WA
A rice cooker is easiest. I have a pressure cooker but now use slow cooker and airfryer and its just used as an ordinary pot for soup usually.

I am just imagining a Rewardian gathering- couldn't really be called a reunion. Not sure where we would meet- maybe Dhubai- all funded by Rewardia including free travel with Rewardia Airlines. What would you wear?? Would you even come? What drugs am i on right now? None..just panadol for toothache. Anyhow time to use those amazing imaginations and do tell. I would be heavily disguised as i'm pretty shy in person. Perhaps dressed as a pot plant.
BLM
I will admit a rewardian (new word?) gathering intrigues me - but I (personally) prefer the gathering to be in Vatican City (at least it would be sinful enjoyable and not to mention (but I will) - would appease the hedonistic lifestyle principles that I sometimes operate on). I would be in flashback mode and come dressed in the decadent disco era to the rewardian gathering - my drug of choice would be dancing!

I've noticed that more men think that a Platonic relationship between adult people (where one person is a gender that the other person is attracted to) involves an ulterior motive, while more women think that true friendships can exist without an ulterior motive. What are your thoughts?
Bugalugs
It's the New year and the Misandry Campaign is, once again, off and running.
We hear, endlessly, about how Horrible, how Distrustful, how Devious, how Abusive, how Misogynistic men are. They are no longer allowed to express an opinion, they must never, ever dare to say they don't like some female, their clothes, their botoxed faces, artificially pumped up lips - the list of what men must not do and how cruel, unfeeling and hurtful they are is endless and on-going
BUT we never, ever hear, or rather are never allowed to hear that Females can be every bit as bastardly as any male BUT challenge them and they will claim they are "Exercising THEIR Right to Freedom of Speech and Expression"!
No apologies but Christina C's statement is typical misandrist nonsense, men are no more, nor less, likely to have ulterior motives than any woman.

No doubt this topic has been discussed many times previously so if I am going over old ground I apologise. We all do a number of surveys via this site and most of us probably select what surveys we do based on their points value and suggested time they will take to complete. This is reasonable but the trouble is we often end up with a survey on a topic we are not interested in and, more importantly, know nothing about. Could I suggest, that in addition to listing the...

People are always fond of hearing the word being rich or becoming rich. So, for us to be rich, we need to have a lot of wealth. But, the question is, how much wealth do we need to be rich? Some people are happy with two cars and an apartment in an expensive neighbourhood while others want a private jet and a villa in Monaco. So how does one become rich? The answer is...

People go about their lives while working and going out etc. Could they spare half an hour a week or even a fortnight to visit their grandmother that is lonely? It is sad to see and hear how people act towards someone who once also had a full life.

Just had a package from Amazon that was supposedly delivered but never showed up on our doorstep -- I was watching for it. They showed a picture of a package with only cement surrounding it -- it could have been taken anywhere! Our doorstep however has a big mat that covers the whole step so it was not our porch step. I also requested that it be delivered to our back door but it said it was delivered to our front step or near it. Amazon was great and reimbursed...
Tom S Qld
I had a different experience about 5 weeks ago, not Amazon, but worth telling. I was in my backyard at 5pm, doing some gardening when I heard a delivery truck. I checked down the side of the house to the front, and saw it was a Coles home delivery truck. I thought it was for the neighbors across the street, so I ignored it. About 10 minutes later I went to the front of the house. On my front steps were 15 bags of groceries and a carton of ginger beer - not mine (I don't do home delivery). I looked for a receipt or paperwork - nothing. I rang Coles local, and they put me through to their distribution center in Sydney, where they put me on hold for 15 minutes. I explained what happened, they put me on hold again. When they finally came back, they asked me if I wanted to keep the groceries or did my neighbors want some of it. Could I take it inside and refrigerate what needed to be and keep the rest. The driver can't get back to my street that night and once I take it inside, they cannot then ask for it back due to security issues, Coles would then send out a new order to the original shopper. I said thanks, took some things to my neighbor and kept the rest. We estimated that it was a full family shop ($350). I spoke to the phone operator and asked questions. If it happens again, just take everything inside. Once it's in your house, it's yours, they won't knock on the door and ask for it.
Ka-ching! Merry Christmas!

Do you keep your Christmas and birthday cards or do you put them in the rubbish when you have read them, like I do?
Missy Wyld
With my mum in law passing a few weeks ago, the family had the unenviable task of going through her unit to get it ready for sale, as it was in an aged care village.
She kept cards, and the grandkids were going through them, (they are all adults), and found so many from/to their dear 'Pa' that they had sent many years back when they were little (he passed in 1988), and the kids were thrilled to see them & took them home for themselves as keepsakes.
I guess everyone is different, not everyone is sentimental. I feel it's disrespectful to throw them out.

WOW! This is a machine! But I see it's $3759 at Harvey Norman (which means it's the same price everywhere). What they won't advertise is the fact that they won't let you walk out of the store until you buy a 2-year extended warranty - add $150.
Choice Magazine recently warned that this is a scam. Consumers are protected by laws. Once you buy the product or service, the promise becomes a right that can be enforced under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Warranties are separate from your automatic consumer guarantees, which apply regardless of any warranty's suppliers sell or
give to you. Basically, you will pay for warranty even though you are protected by law.
Your PC comes with a manufacturer's warranty of 12 months. You are also protected by law. You don't need to buy an extended warranty.

As many women know, being in a relationship with a guy who is not fully matured can be a difficult situation. To give a little context, I have been in a relationship for over a year with a guy who s quite young and doesn t fully understand the ways of a relationship and how to make the girl happy. There have been a lot of issues where there is no communication, yelling over little things, shit talking / letting his friends talk bad about me, never taking me out, complains...

Why are you still with him. The old saying "a leopard never changes it's spots" is true. Some partners might temper their actions but it usually comes back out again. Firstly he is younger than you and this is not really the ideal situation. You are being a doormat. He disrespects you big time. You are there just to do his bidding whether it be cooking, cleaning, physical or financial. Get some respect and leave or if it is your place ask him to leave immediately.

Ok, so we have to enter our Gender, Age, Education, Post Codes BUT why do we have to identify an Animal or Sound which those conducting these Surveys - not Rewardia who only provide a safe platform for us - admit have absolutely nothing to do with the Survey? Does it really matter what sort of device we are using to take part?...
