I read recently that purchasing these products in public makes some people feel awkward. I kinda felt that was weird. I mean it's not the 1800s. There is nothing to feel ashamed about. Most people out shopping are only focused on themselves anyway.

When she (or he ;}), got to the counter, the lass behind asked "the person" to speak up then ... practically yelled, "oh, you mean nit-shampoo!"...

It hasn't crept into our vocabulary. If you use it in the wrong context you need to improve your English. What I do hate is when people say tooken instead of taken! We will eventually degenerate into neanderthals again with the horrid grammar, speech and antisocial behaviour around nowadays. Grunt grunt!

It seems like imprisonment to me. I mean with DNA testing, the pill and women being financially independent. I'm not really sure what the drawcard is. Does anyone know? As one of my friends says: "Why get engaged when there is call waiting?"

If you truly believe in God, you will realise why people get married. Marriage is a type of Christ and his bride, and when Christ returns he will take those who believe in him to be his bride, and they will live with him in bliss and everlasting joy for eternity. You see, the Bible teaches that the kingdom of God will be on earth. In the meantime by being married we are glorifying God who wants us to be faithful to our partner in this life, just as we must be faithful to God. Marriage is a big commitment but it is very worthwhile from a scriptural point of view.

Have only ever purchased 1 item (as far as I can remember) - got someone else to put it together for me as it was so complicated and takes so long to put it together. The process of finally finding it in the store, selection of the wanted item, collection from the assembly store down the bottom and then getting it paid for, let alone getting it home again is a mission in itself - who has the expertise or energy left to put the item together. Only impetus is saving the $70+ dollars they want for getting someone from their store to assemble it for you. Much prefer to go somewhere else & pay a bit more but get the item in one piece at home. I'm too old to try doing the gymnastics required to assemble the IKEA items.

I don't. I think it should be at the discretion of the cyclist. I mean The Netherlands is full of cyclists and helmets are not mandatory there. If it works for the Dutch, it can work for the rest of the world.

I could never live in a home without a bath, I honestly don't know how people do it. My nightly bath is a ritual, a tradition. It s my much needed me-time. If I never had a shower again, it wouldn t bother me. But my daily bubble bath will be with me until the end of time.

Depending on how dirty you are, bathing in your own filth is gross...but clean body in nice hot bath with candles and music is great relaxing therapy!! Showers are good for removing all the dirt period?!??

I deactivate my social media accounts regularly. It's nice to be present and live without distraction. I find I'm more focused when my social media is deactivated. Life's too short to be checking social media all of the time.

In driving at night I've been blinded by headlights on 4-wheel drives. I flash my lights to let the other driver know they are on high beam. Then the other driver flicks up to high beam. So I've been blinded by their low beams. Should the 4WD vehicles have their lights lowered so they are not so blinding as they are a higher vehicle than the ordinary car?

Probably, drivers now have no idea about lights. A car was following me on a dark night with no lights at all, when we pulled up at the lights I let him know that he didn't have his lights on, he said I can see so why should I put my lights on. I tried to explain that the lights were not for him to see with but for other people to see him. I got the finger, very nice. Knowing about lights on your car should be imperative if you are driving, it might help to lessen the number of accidents we have.

My children do jobs at home to earn pocket money, but are slowly approaching that all important she where they can work outside the home in part-time jobs. Currently, they have a few after school activities and homework etc each week. My question is, do you have them give up the interests they have been cultivating for years, so they get the job early, or do you make them wait for the job? We are leaning towards them keeping the interests and keeping up the good grades at...

Perhaps there's a way to do it all, but guess the sacrifice will come from the parents who taxi them to and fro. Once they earn their own money, charge them board, (and maybe bank the money for them to use later) this is a good grounding for going flatting. I had a friend who provided it all and when the child chose to go flatting, the wake up call was nearly more than the child could cope with

I have twice seen one and I am basically a skeptic about flying saucers and Aliens. However on both occasions neither the Coastguard, Airforce, Police or anyone else can explain the lights I saw, which were brilliant blue when hovering, then flashed green as the zig-zagged back and forth for about 10 minutes over the ancient extinct volcano on our property, before flashing back to brilliant blue and disappearing over the horizon at an incredible speed.. They lit up the sky which woke my daughter on a neighbouring property on the second occasion. On the first occasion I was with about 6 other adults and we all reported our sighting. Several other people reported them on both occasions but we never received any logical explanations. Definitely unidentified flying objects

What is your preferred destination for a holiday and has this changed since COVID? I used to go to the snow every year, this wasn't possible for the last two years due to lockdowns in Australia, but since COVID, I'd rather spend time holidaying with family and friends.

So my brother got invited to his friend birthday party I came with him because my mom and dad was going to because the adults was going to have some drinks. My brother is hanging out with his friends and the party is nearly done and they start to give out the goody bags some people didn't go so there is a extra and they ask me do you want the goody bag and I say yes is that rude of me?

I think they should record people doing 10 kilometers or more under the speed limit as well. These people are just as likely to cause accidents as speeders.

The road is for sharing and you should always be aware of other users and drive to the conditions. Be kind, be careful and if the traffic is slow then be slow or stick to the speed limit. It’s only going to take a few minutes longer….it’s really not that hard….lol

I learnt to use industrial sewing machines at the age of 14 but sadly now I am retired can't afford to buy one so I can continue making and repairing clothing. I also have a really good eye for colours and when we built our last home I knew exactly what I wanted, they told us to allow 3 hours to choose everything, had it all sorted in less than an hour, colour of bricks, roof windows, door plus everything inside. I also had to teach myself how to cook and after 50 plus years married husband still asks where did you get that recipe from.

What is up with Hollywood today? Most of the "NEW" movies today are only rehashed old movies. Where is their imagination gone? The older ones were good in their day, so why rehash them and in the process ruining a good movie. Wake up scriptwriters and use some imagination and this doesn t mean special effects with imaginary characters. What do other people think?

Years ago a movie was released into the cinemas and played for a few weeks or even months sometimes. Nowadays unfortunately, due to TV, cable TV, internet, netflix etc. they are barely even hitting the cinemas for a week and then hit the smaller screens. This means more and more movies have to be made and sadly many are rubbish. I agree, some are just noise and or trash and often the hype is just PR to get people to pay to watch them.
I rarely watch TV and never go to the movies these days. I do not have pay TV either.
Give me a good book any day.

I mean these supposed plus-size women aren't even fat. Most of them are just average or what would be considered normal compared to the rest of the population. I mean Marilyn Monroe would be considered plus-sized in today's era and she's the most lusted after woman that ever lived. I think they should change the term to "buxom" or "sexy". Keep it positive!

Sometimes we have so much to do and have only little time for it. Cleaning, washing, work, cooking, kids, shopping, walking the dog etc. Do you have any hints or advices for the people who struggle to find time to make everything done?

When we were scammed out of our life savings of $53,500 whilst building a new house we ended up with a mortgage and having to do all the landscaping ourselves so it is an ongoing thing, we just try and set out what needs doing the most and tackle it day by day.

Online shopping and express postage is great when it works, especially during lockdown. But with so many more parcels and packages being sent via post -- the care of fragile items by post office staff and couriers seems almost non-existent. I decided to order some bone china, they arrived smashed. I requested a replacement, the replacement also arrived smashed. Moral of the story: Don't order china or glass during Covid19 or do so at your own risk!

Sport causes fatalities and brain injuries. Car accidents cause fatalities and brain injuries. Should we aim to ban everything? Boxing should not be banned. It's the risk the individual chooses to take when they play the sport.

I decided to get a spiral perm in 1991. The poor hairdresser took five hours to complete it. The sun had gone down and I was still in her chair lol. I booked over the phone and when I went in she was surprised. My hair was past my butt and it's thick (but I did prewarn her over the phone). She deserved her $250 and I went to work the next day and was called telephone cord and poodle, but I liked it.

I don't live as a hermit, I live in a community....so everything that other people do or think affects me either directly or indirectly.
If you are asking solely about whether my choices are based on what other people think about my choices..... then that is very different conversation. Do I care that someone I know hates it when I wear read. No I don't, because I enjoy wearing red. Do I care that my mother disapproves of me not visiting her more than I do...yes I do care...because I don't want her to feel sad or lonely.
Different situations result in different levels of 'do I care'. You can't lump them all under one heading and ask do you care or do you not....because it depends totally on what the situation or issue is. .

Seriously in 2020, with the pandemic and all the other crazy crap that is going on, an alien invasion would be a welcome surprise. And to be honest, I don't think anyone would bat an eyelid. Perhaps we could vote the Aliens into government. They would do a better job than our politicians are doing

Not heard any news here. I don't believe in aliens per se but life on other planets is a possibility but in microbe form etc. Can't see some form of intelligent life as we have if you can call us that as we came about by circumstances that would not be repeated elsewhere. A spec of dust or a microbe started us off.
I think the Governments are doing OK although some not so much. We are having a pandemic and they are in a fine balancing act trying to save peoples lives and also their livelihoods.
This virus is so virulent and we have the idiots who just don't get it going about and spreading it more.
Everyone stay safe, follow the simple rules of social distancing, quarantining if necessary, get tested if sick or asked, do not shake hands or hug, do not gather in groups etc. If everyone did this together we would probably not have the situation in Victoria, NSW and now it seems in Queensland.

Having children is a lifestyle choice and not everyone wants to hear children screaming or misbehaving on international flights, in restaurants and so forth. I think we all deserve choices. I think we all deserve to have a peaceful coffee at a cafe without children running around. Not only would this provide an option for childless individuals but also parents who need some time-out

I have noticed over the years that people who play a lot of video games become aggressive in their day-to-day life. I try not to judge people but this personality change is pretty hard to miss. Anyone else experienced this?

I think it also a desensitivity to violence in general with constantly seeing increasingly realistic imagery of people being raped or blown up or stabbed/gutted with knives. Then, the lights/bells/whistles that go off when you might kill another being (in a game) to win the round or whatever, makes violence a thing to be used to maybe get ahead of the game in real life. Sadly, I think many of these ultra violent/realistic type games were/are designed to do this. When you stab someone to death, they don't really die- they just come back at you in the next round. If you do this countless times then you very well may in some small way expect the same to occur in real life, especially if you haven't yet fully developed a brain that can tell the difference (fully) between RL and a game situation or scene. Bully or brutish behaviour, towards women say, if very often associated with heroism. I'm happy to pay money to purchase a rental on YouTube, so I can watch exactly what I want. I find I spend more time on Netflix browsing, It's problematic! I'm thinking about giving up my Netflix subscription and purchasing from YouTube every time.

I used to know a delivery driver for a weight loss franchise and he told me they put laxatives in the food. I always wondered after that if it could be true. Nothing would surprise me in this day and age. But surely it would have to be listed as an ingredient?

Also if that was the case then something like meals on wheels would do that if it was legal and same as our nursing homes but they don't as you can get in trouble plus with the technology today nothing goes undected they can even test our sewerage .but years ago before we had all this technology it might have happened like maybe 25 to 30 yrs ago as things were not very strict then either.

Have you kept in touch with workmates from previous jobs? I have from the last two jobs I had, and it is really great to have a catch up now and again and talk about "old times" I wish I had stayed in touch with more of my workmates - I often used to think about them, but never followed up on it. What about you?

I do not keep up with workmates from my one previous job (which I retired from). Only one shift (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM - got two 15-minute breaks and a half-hour for lunch (I worked a total of eight hours on each workday). In addition, I was the only minority in a huge office - were I worked for thirty years. We did not have one thing in common with each other - we did not socialize with each other on the job, and we did not socialize with each other on weekends (we did not work weekends) or on holidays (we got holidays off - with pay). Only four things I actually liked about my federal civil service job - the pay, job advancement opportunities, I got sick leave and annual (vacation) leave, and I got to wear jeans too work every day. I do not miss my workmates - but I DEFINITELY miss not getting paid every two weeks (on a Tuesday) :-))! I now get paid - on a monthly basis (bummer).

What is the weirdest choice you made for a school lunch? Back in the 50 s & 60 s the favourite choices included, sugar on bread and butter, tomato sauce sandwich, banana sandwich, baked beans or spaghetti sandwich, chocolate spread sandwich, cream cheese, peanut butter or Vegemite sandwiches. I preferred a sugar sandwich any day.

I was never into salads, but a lot of kids used to take salads with beetroot. The beetroot juice would turn the whole salad purple - even the cheese! It always grossed me out, but the kids who brought it always said it was good. I've got a friend who packs this for her work lunch.

For me I absolutely love the Christmas season as the whole family comes together to get into the spirit. This is one season that we dec the house with Christmas decorations. I always remember my Grand parents house inside was like a mini Santa house. The one present I remembered the most was when I was little was the limited edition of the Teletubbies. My Parents told me they waited for a very long time to buy.

Summer every time for me. I left England because I was severely sick almost every winter with colds, flu, bronchitis and allergies. I then found I could not tolerate Melbourne winters as I was so miserable and sick. After moving to Queensland I was diagnosed with SADS (Seasonal Adjustment Disorder Syndrome) meaning my body cannot cope with changing climate extremes. I also have a lung disease which is now able to be treated and responds so well to warm/hot weather. I can cope, although not happily, with the few weeks of winter we have here.

The problem really is that it is called Hemp and some silly people immediately associate this product with Illicit Drug Use when in fact it contains none of the drug associated with smoking pot/weed etc.. I would certainly try it if I had an issue with severe, on-going pain.

I have seen people sitting next to each other speaking via their phone text messages. Utterly ridiculous. Still see them texting whilst driving. Can't put the things down for 5 seconds. I agree, these emoji's confuse me also. Maybe English should be taught in schools again like it was 50 years ago.

When I overuse social media I really feel a lull in my mood. Sometimes it can lead to a major depression. Other times I just feel really anxious. I have given up social media many times throughout the years and always feel my life force come back. Perhaps it's time to deactivate or delete again?

I'm not on Facebook or Instagram. I don't know the names of the other ones. Rewardia is the closest thing to social media that I'm involved in. I don't feel the need for the approval of people who feel they have the right to abuse me because I don't know them. The whole idea seems ridiculous to me, but I know that children can be harmed by things that they see on social media.

In the 80s I used to go to Bingo with my grandpa, the numbers were called out slow and the game was nice and relaxed. In 2019, I went as a joke with a friend after a bottle of wine. And we couldn t believe how fast bingo had gotten. It was like an Olympic Sport. It seems life sped up and so did the bingo halls.

I love reading, so the thought of an author of a book reading to me via an audio book makes me want to vomit. Podcasts are the same, I haven't given them a proper go yet and maybe I should. Absolutely love Facebook...and despise a few things that the admins are really crap at. FB has opened up my world and let me communicate really easily with all my family and friends who are scattered around the world. IT has linked me to many groups which I use daily. It saves me time and allows access to so much that benefits ALL my hobbies.

Lately I've been reporting fake business accounts who are trying to scam people...and only getting automated replies that fail to fix the issue. Replies that tell me the fake accounts aren't breaking any of their rules! What the!!!!!!
So I have had to take it upon myself to start posting warnings in the Newsfeeds. It is greater than disappointing that Facebook is choosing to treat the real businesses and their Followers like that.

It did lead to enhanced security for boarding an airplane in the US - you can not carry a gun onboard (on any US airlines) - unless you are a Sky Marshal (US Marshals Service - at the federal Level). I hope when he (white male terrorist) parachuted off the airplane - he broke his legs, starved to death (he never got caught), and NEVER got the opportunity to spend any of the money he attain (illegally). Since he knowingly terrorized a plane load of innocent passengers for monetary gain. I worked 7 years in the fishing industry and ate many different things from fish, crays to abalone. I have never felt ill/had headaches. I think mercury would only be a concern in such things as big game fish like marlin, or shark where it is more concentrated..

I would turn to Eastern medicine. Western medicine tends to focus on the 99 that died rather than the one who lived -- they don't mind prescribing addictive drugs either. I like that Eastern medicine is natural and holistic.

I was born in western civilization and was programmed (ruthless) to take a dim view of eastern medicine. However, too much MONEY is involve in western medicine (which has lead to corruption). Furthermore, MD(s) has no qualms about prescribing addictive drugs to you (which means you have to ask questions)! LUCKY ME - I have not been sick in over four years (and counting) and I have not seen an MD in over four years (and counting). Therefore, I am open to trying eastern medicine (based on its approach: natural and holistic)!!

Procrastination is such an unhelpful state to be in and I hate it when I procrastinate but I am human and it happens. It happens before gym workouts, it happens before massive career decisions. It happens before cleaning the house. But I always feel better after any task is done and often wonder why I procrastinated in the first place. Surely others feel like this too?

No I am the type that if it needs doing, do it. I do believe one has to think on big issues that might affect you, others, finance, job etc. before making such a major change or decision but to dither for ages is not a good state to be in for yourself or others it might affect. I usually go with my gut feeling and it has not steered me wrong yet and I am in my 70's.

I never would have believed, I could part with my belongings. But I got tired of lugging around boxes of stuff and decided to minimize. It s not easy saying goodbye to things that have been in your life for decades. But in the aftermath you feel lighter. It's freeing.

What do you find more soothing? Heat Bags are obviously quicker to organise when you re in pain or feeling cold. But I ve found hot water bottles keep their warmth longer

I will admit I am old (not dead - yet - I do have one foot in my grave) - I do not use either (my guess will be heat bags would be safer). If I am feeling cold - I will reset my smart thermostat. If I am in pain - I will scheduled a video chat with a nurse (with my health plan)! Unfortunately, you can't take your money with you when you die - I will spend my money making my last days (or years) enjoyable!

If someone had told me seven years ago that I would give up tangible print books all together, I would have laughed in their face. But eBooks are so easy to store. I carry hundreds of books around with me on my phone. It's perfect. Plus real books clog up one's house and space

I love a good book that provides page turning suspense. The are fully recyclable, as in being able to pass them on to friends and family and when finally too tatty to read, goes in the recycling bin no waste there. Electronic devices are not fully recyclable so land fill here we come.
