I started seeing a pysychologist to deal with my "problem" (31 years ago) - and I was able to stop beginning a hoarder for the last 29 years of my life! Yes, I am OLD! However, the urge to hoard stuff still lurks in me - I learned with the help of professional (pyschologist) to keep hoarding at bay for the rest of my life! NO! You can not literally (with your own stuff) hold onto your PAST forever - regardlessly how hard you try! Time moves on - you have to learn to adapt and move on - or you will trap yourself in the past (with your own stuff).

Yes I personally don't like the look either, but fashion is what it is. It's the same as the messy hair look or beach hair look, people spend money on products to recreate a look they can achieve naturally because they want to appear effortless because it's seen as desirable, when actually they are the exact opposite. I park as far away from the shops as possible. Most cars that have trouble getting into a shopping centre carpark are four wheel drives. I think shopping centre carparks should have a separate area for these big cars to park in. They don't only cause trouble when they are parking but make it impossible for a small car to see around them when trying to get out of a car park.

This has to be a joke. Children are just that, children, and to my mind children should be seen and not heard. Why would they have a say? They don't earn a living, they go to school to learn. It seems to me that parents do not want the responsibility of rearing children and want children to rear themselves. How can a child possibly have the maturity, experience and knowledge to even be given consideration in making life changing decisions. Children deserve a childhood free from such things, no worry or responsibility, that will come soon enough. Indeed they did and my father was right, as a child I had no need to worry. Do not put grown up heads on little shoulders. Let them be children.

Crime will always be around. (unfortunately) The legal system is very broken. One person can commit a crime and get probation. The next guy does the very same thing, and he will get 2 years. Crimminals really are not afraid of the justice system.

My grandmother had 2 small children during WW2 and they fled Malaya and ended up in Western Australia, she lost a baby on the journey. My grandpa ended up a prisoner for years. Any way my grandma was one of the first in Australia to put strawberries into vanilla ice cream. She made quite a bit of money for her self and her 2 children. They waited until grandpa could come back and then went back to the UK. My parents settled back here once they were married. I am proud to say I am in charge of our finances, I pay all the bills and I know where every cent has gone or where it needs to be. Getting to sleep is very much like the type of dreams you have when you fall asleep. The length of time it takes to get to sleep depends entirely on things like medical conditions, the amount of stress you were under that day, problems in your life, noise around you, and how active your mind is when you go to bed. The best way to get a good night's sleep is to try to clear your mind of all worries before going to bed or failing that, to listen to some relaxing music in bed. NO eating for at least one hour before going to bed, NO computer use for at least one hour before going to bed, leave your mobile ( cell ) phone in another room, NOT worry about things you have to do the next day instead write a list of those things before going to bed. Having said all of that, I am the type of person who cares about others and worry a lot about things which are going on in the world and it takes me between one and four hours to get to sleep ( Living on a highway with traffic all day / night does not help either ). As a result of this, I average 3 to 4 hours of sleep at night, then I get up and do surveys, then do whatever else I need to do that day then have 2 to 4 hours sleep during the day. Counting sheep does not always work for some people because if you go to bed hungry then while you count the sheep they might start turning into lamb chops LOL

I sometimes take old towels, blankets and such to the animal shelter near me. I cannot understand cruelty to any living thing. To see animals being hurt in any way sickens me. .

One, not every family can afford (for one parent to stay at home - the harsh realties of life). Two, not every child needs supervision (I know a lot of latch-key children who went on to become happy, well-rounded, and successful adults). Three, not every family has a support system (grand parents and/or extended family) to help raise a child. Four, this is not an issue where one solution works for every family (PERIOD). Five, MAYBE we new tougher standards for people to become a parent (obvious - what we have now - is not working). I live in a rural area and absolutely love it. Rail - hmmm - what rail??? - We used to have one in Cowra, NSW, but the government decided to close it because it was not making enough money. Same thing happened with the airport. Now the only way people can get here is by train to Bathurst and bus the rest of the way, or you can drive the four hour drive. With due respect to Council, they need to try and get our train lines open again.

It's sad that this question implies that dieting is normal - please love yourselves and don't fall into the trap of thinking that you need to be any kind of preferred 'normal' whether that be big, small or any combination of body shapes. When you die the only thing that matters is who you were which shouldn't be defined by appearance. Just aim for the kind of healthy that allows you the freedom to do the tasks you need to, have enough energy to get the job done and enough love and mental peace for those who mean the most.

I like the older cars with manual transmissions and wind down windows which are plus for safety. If you break down you can push the car and even push start it. If you go into water you can wind the windows down and get out not so in electric cars etc. There is so much going on in the new cars that it is distracting the drivers.

I love most seafood but do not like oysters. The appearance of them and the texture is revolting. Yet many people seem to think they're marvellous. I also think kangaroo is disgusting too. Plenty fellow Aussies seem to think it's marvellous, but to me it smells and tastes like it's off.

In general I have found most In Laws are what you make them. I have seen MIL's that have been very pushy ..... but you just have to set boundries. If your In Laws are doing something you are not happy with - be honest AND TELL THEM (politely). Something like "I appreciate what you are saying ... but these are my kids - my rules". If a MIL is to cut your child's hair without FIRST checking with you - I can assure you she would NOT DO IT TWICE in my house. She would get very cool treatment from me. I do agree that it is often a MIL who is not happy about who her son has chosen..... a very stupid woman I say.

Day 3 is the worst day after birth for the baby blues to set in and milk production to come in properly ,then complications can arise ... that is all just after a natural childbirth!

I admit, I have a smoothie nearly every morning for breakfast. I often have a quiche or peanut butter sandwich for lunch, and meat and vegies for dinner, (about 3 x a week) I recently read the Whole meal Bread with Smooth peanut butter, No sugar/salt, actually helps your weight and digestion when eaten before bed. So that's my new favorite bedtime snack. It seems to help. Ive been dieting for 6 months. I lost 25 kgs but am a bit stuck for loosing the last 20-15 kgs. I've done it. And if you truly love people and want to help someone who isn't old enough to speak up for themselves, I recommend you do it as well. I grew up in a home where my parents nearly always had 1-3 foster children sharing our lives. We learned as children that fosters come and go, but we were able to adopt 2 of the boys. They are my brothers through and through. The girls that I fostered were being abused, both 16 years old. One was being beaten regularly by her mother and stabbed once, the other was being raped by her mother's live-in boyfriend. The time with them was only a few months each but it was enough to let them know there are good people in the world and both changed into good people themselves. One has a lovely family and the other is a veterinary technician. Both are happy:) I very highly recommend fostering if you honestly feel your heart wanting to help. You don't get much financially, but you get loads in return emotionally. As much as you know they will most likely be leaving your home at some point, each and every one of them stay in your heart forever. You love with all purity of intentions and build them up and show them good in their world. You will make a positive difference for each child.

I have not been out for 'lunch', since December of 2019 (when Covid19 first made its ugly appearance in USA). Officially, Covid19 is over in USA. Unofficially, Covid19 - finished in fourth place (2022) in number of Americans killed by a disease (aka a virus) - last year. I still see people who are wearing mask - in public. I am still wearing a mask - in public - because hundreds of people are still dying from Covid19 on a daily basis in USA. I have a SEVERE IMPAIRED IMMUNE SYSTEM - WHICH LEADS ME OPEN TO CATCHING COVID19 WITH FATAL CONSEQUENCES FOR ME. I have not been in a restaurant (any type of restaurant) for almost four years and I do not see myself going into a restaurant (anytime soon) - until Covid19 is effecting less than one percent of the population in USA!

I'm almost 58 and my dad is 83 years old. I was emailing him on Monday and I told him how sorry I was that it was a very difficult day for him. You see it would have been my brother's 56th birthday except that he died 3 years ago in a car crash. As it was just my mum, dad, brother and myself growing up it is now only my dad and I who survive today as my mother passed away nearly 20 years ago. He said to me "Michelle, every day is a memory day". I told him that I'm finally old enough to understand that each day you find yourself reflecting on memories from the good, the bad and the ugly things that you've experienced in life and I find myself starting to play the "what if" game! What if I hadn't gone out to the disco and met the man who would have become my husband and the father of my children when I was supposed to be staying at a friend's house and not going out at all or what if I had been content to stay at the house my family had been living in, paid that mortgage off and reduced my full-time work to part-time and stayed home more often with my kids, instead of insisting that we renovate the home that I had inherited 75% of which was really my dream to do and to honour the memory of the ladies who gave it to me, but ultimately led to my husband going off with another woman he met while I was at work doing night shifts as an RN and then led to me ultimately having to walk away from and go bankrupt. I could do this all day but the nights are the worst. I don't think when I was younger that I could perceive of me at 57, hardly able to walk, with very little money and without an ability to do the things I used to love, including my job, and existing in constant pain. THIS me was abstract like a Picasso and bore no resemblance to who I am today and I think that we all reach a point in our lives where we can reflect on the good, the bad and the ugly and some of us can find peace in that, but I look back on my life, on my kids and EVERYTHING else and I ABSOLUTELY wish, with ALL my heart, that I hadn't ever been born! I lived in the country and I was not happier. Anytime we had any type of medical problem we had to travel for an hour for treatment. Anytime we wanted to shop in a large store we had to travel for an hour. Our fuel cost more as did many other things due to transport. We had 2 TV stations and one local radio station. There were far more drugs around than we ever saw in the big smoke and our children got a better education and better jobs. Even 20 years later our friends who remained there still had to travel for some medical appointments. The only thing we did miss was the beach and stopped going once we had moved. Far too many people at suburban beaches.

Yes it is bad for your health but it has superior cooking qualities. When I suggested this topic it was ignored. Perhaps it was the way I framed it. I am a cat person and while I have had dogs it's cats I can't live without. My 16 year old lady left us last September so I now only have 5 boys. They are all rescues so come with health problems but I love them, not like children but family members who are animals. My one rule is that they don't have human names, and I never use the same name twice, the name also has to suit the personality. All 5 have long fur which annoys my husband as he feels they shed, they don't really as they usually leave it on chairs or clothing. I have always had at least one cat other than when I lived overseas. All of the cats has it's own personality and all 5 own me. They are neurotic, bossy, fussy but love unconditionally and get very annoyed if we go away for any reason. They are very independent, dogs are far too needy for my liking, but they know if I'm not feeling well and will stay with me even if they have to hiss and growl at anyone that attempts to get closer. They help me garden, they always want to go with me when I walk and will hide so that I can't see them until they get frightened by a car or dog and I hear them crying. I had to carry one home from almost a block away one day and the bus scared him so much he almost got away from me. They are sticky beaks who have to know where I am at all times. They help me when I'm sewing or making the bed, oh that's great fun, they also enjoy a feather duster, getting into drawers, cupboards and washing baskets. I was missing one once and looked everywhere for him but I was pretty sure he hadn't left home. The following morning I turned the dryer on to air my towels and I heard a loud banging and when I looked his little face was looking through the dryer door at me. He had gotten in while I left the dryer open as I took the towels off the clothesline the previous afternoon. I hugged him so hard as it could have ended quite badly and he was very forgiving but hungry. Ny eldest son keeps birds and doesn't like cats, he says they are sneaky, my daughter has no pets but prefers dogs while my youngest son must take after me and has 5 cats. My grandchildren call me the crazy cat lady but they all love my cats. The feeling sadly is not reciprocated.

We had a brand new house we rented to a couple with 2 children for 4 years while we did our trip around Australia and I would never rent any thing again. The amount the real estate said was normal wear and tear was just total BS. Who can blow up an oven in 4 years? Tried to fix the water tank after their puppy chewed the wires, totally failed to any way. So with short term rentals I think the damage could be worse and I would never do that because there is no respect for other peoples belongings. Use and abuse then some of the better tenants are tarred with the same brush. Like most things there is always some one whom will spoil it for every one else. I read about a couple with 2 children and another on the way having to live in a tent because there aren't any rentals available in their area. It's sad and temporary housing needs to be arranged for these people. As much as I wouldn't rent any thing again surely there are others that would. Some are selling up as interest rates rise and this will only add to the problem but then a first home buyer gets a chance to buy. Rent is dead money so if the younger ones can buy it is better but then are they still going to be around that area in 3 or 4 years? It's a hard one that is for sure.

I don't understand why Elon and Twitter is such a big deal. Not to sound condescending but the majority of the world don't actually care about Twitter. On a side note: Notice how almost every time Elon is reported on in the news etc he is either doing some very silly dance or pulling a weird face when they show footage of him? Doesn't matter what channel. Does the media feel threatened by him or something?

Two months ago I was getting a sore gut and became best friends with the toilet. I am now officially lactose intolerant which sucks. I used to drink two litres of milk a day. I will still eat my favourite 'creamed doughnuts' as a treat once a month and handle the consequences. Run Forrest Run!

It would be okay if you could choose to have four VERY SMALL bins. Otherwise I’ll have no backyard left. Living on my own, it takes me months fill a large council bin, and I resent the large bins taking up so much space.

You are not strange. We are all on the spectrum. Some a little crazy, others totally nuts. It only becomes a problem when it leads to dysfunction in your life. Labeling oneself can be detrimental because it is limiting. They are designed so professional people can group a set of behaviours easily. Do not take it seriously unless it becomes debilitating. Remember all these little quirks and traits make up the unique person you are.

So long as Governments, politicians and self-styled Do-Gooders who think they know better than everyone else stay out of the way and keep their mouths shut we have all the freedom we need. Abolish Political Correctness, allow people to think and say what they really think. Abolish the Greatest Curse ever visited upon Human beings: Religion - at least Religion as it is today which has been bastardized again by people who think they know better than everyone else, who deliberately misinterpret and selectively use parts of books such as the Bible, the Koran etc. to persecute others who don't agree with them.

I have accepted many stray cats over the years. They keep me sane, make me laugh and have different personalities. They have different mannerisms and like a variety of music.One I have at the moment loves Mick Jagger singing the blues lol The other one I have to sing his favourite song as HE tucks the sheet under MY chin. Only then he will roll over and go to sleep (bossy bum Maine Coon) LOL I also feed the local crows that have learnt to yell out to me at the front door when they are ready to eat lol I have had to bury many animals which is heart breaking but I wouldn't have missed a day being with any of them. They have given me far more than I gave them.

I slip, slip, slap. Spent most of my life in Nth Queensland & have a certain amount of tan that is permanent. If you're going to lay or be in the sun try not to do it between 11 & 2. A certain amount of sun each day with SPF is healthy, a particular level of brown isn't.

I was the first woman to be a tram conductor in South Australia - at the Tramway Museum, before the public transport service employed women. I also was apparently the first woman to be seen driving a tour coach in Victoria when I was on tour there with a group during my coach driving days. I was the topic of conversation in Bendigo and Echuca for a few days.

As long as the child does his or her own homework. Often I found parents had done the homework for the child, and what is the point of that. Homework is a valuable way to practice skills learned in class. If the child can't do the homework, the parent should inform the teacher so those skills can be revised until the child is able to do the work independently. Also, I agree that excessive homework is not good - a maximum of half an hour should be long enough for primary school students.

I just want to know why they have to put all these weird things in our foods! Seems like we are all guinea pigs.

My trip to Hawaii was cancelled last year and I do want to go while I am still young enough to drag my bag behind me but there will need to be next to no Covid out there. I don't want to go anywhere that requires sticking a stick up my nose, and I don't want to have to wear a mask, quarantine in my room for even one day and I certainly don't want to end up in a hospital in a foreign country. So no overseas travel for me for sometime yet.

I am in my 70's and we had it back when I was a teen. I started work at just turned 15 and I paid for my clothing, transport, board, health care etc. At 21 if you were not married you were being talked about as being left on the shelf. Always been pressure put on everyone but the trick is to ignore the pressure and live your life as best you can with a good conscience, respect for family and yourself and never let friends influence you in ways that are not healthy. These days I think people should put their phones down and start talking to people. Influencers as they are called are just wanna be's who really do not know much anyway but seem to get a following and many become quite rich because of this so called fame. It used to be called keeping up with the Jones's back in my day and that was something I never aspired to. I still don't. There will always be someone prettier, have a better figure, be taller, have a better car, house, job etc. I guess you have to learn to be satisfied with what you have and improve it if you wish by common sense approaches.

i believe they go by the council valuations on setting the price for houses. Its the council that is at fault, making the land more valuble which in turn they set the price for how much people pay in land rates.

I had 5 children who are now aged between 28 and 39. When they were growing up I and my now ex husband had his Italian father living with us. He had worked so hard all his life after being a prisoner of war in WW2 and became medically retired by the time my eldest daughter was born and she is now 35. Because his wife abandoned him AND the 2 children who were 3 and 5 at the time and there wasn't a pension available for him to recieve in order to be able to keep his family together, the children stayed with grandparents and great grandparents on their mothers side, and sometimes in the Catholic orphanages which were very cruel as was their maternal GM. By the time I met my children's father at age 15 Giuseppe would leave at 4:30 am and bot arrive back until about 6pm at night and then go to bed and start all over again. I mention this because it's important to the story. I didn't fully realise until about 20 years ago when I gained a little perspective and started to head into my 40's just what a wonderful man I'd been blessed to know. As I had more children my FIL would do the laundry, being fully retired now, the cooking, a lot of the cleaning and garden maintenance, including having a large vegetable garden that fed us fresh vegetables. Because of this being waited on hand and foot my children didn't learn to do the chores which I had learned to do, without argument, since I was a very young child. I am not lying but stating a truth that my husband grew up very lazy and unmotivated and this, combined with their grandfathers constant help, prevented my children from developing a disciplinet hat I had in spades having come from a typical nuclear family of the 1960's with traditional gender roles. My children have however developed their own discipline and now are functioning members of society and appreciate just what a blessing they did have growing up with a grandparent living with them. Giuseppe too got what HE wanted: :a family with children he could help raise and be at home with to watch them grow! My children talk about their grandfather often and his ashes sit not 2 feet from where I write this in bed having lost him at age 97 3 years ago. But children enjoy getting mum a nappy or "folding" up a face washer or carrying swmething for whatever parent is taking care of the child at the time. It gives them happiness and pride in their achievements and that's ALWAYS a good thing! Thank you for reading this and have a nice day.

it sounds that some states don't have the flashing amber to warn the drivers that the lights will be changing to amber so they can start to slow down before you get to the intersection and these days every set of lights have cameras, and red lights regardless to the situation a fine will be issued
