If they bought the cost down a good bit many people would take it up but every July up it goes and people start to pull out. Our health system here in Australia over the past 10 or so years has just gone down and down with hospitals closed, staff shortages but costs rising in part due to the top people getting paid very high salaries. Systems put in place that are not logical or workable in many cases. The age care sector is a disgrace. It is time to put someone in charge to go through it all bit by bit and get solutions that are workable yet still cost effective without limiting the care required.

In this day and age, with the world's population as it is, people need to think hard before they bring another child into the world. I am a mother and grandmother who adores children, and I agree that they add so much to our lives, but many children are born to people who cannot offer a stable home with loving parents who are prepared to make the sacrifices needed to be a good parent. Rather have people voluntarily deciding they do not want to be fathers, than carelessly doing so, then regretting that decision. I do agree that a person in his very early 20s may occasionally regret their choice, but doctors do not do a vasectomy without questioning why the man wants one and ensuring he is aware of long term results of that decision.. Sometimes a vasectomy can be reversed, as suggested, but as long as any future partner is made aware of the choice that has been made, I feel a man is entitled to his beliefs and decisions about his own body just as a woman is.

I think my most proud moment was when my brother and I spent 2 months looking after my dying mother in palliative care at home we alternated nightly to ensure that she was looked after,she was embarrassed that her sons were looking after as our sister cared for her during the day,I can recall once I took to the bathroom & had to wipe her butt she cried but I told her you wiped my butt for years she never was embarrassed again.This time I spent with my mum was the most uplifting experience in my life,I have spoken about this in groups it has changed my life made me a more compassionate person to all humanity.

No, they are public servants, so are paid by the public to serve. They are all on good money, and apart from nurses have very good hours and benefits. I always worked in the private sector where you daren't strike in case they worked out that they could do without you and if your weren't happy you looked elsewhere. This way I have the protection from PayPal, Ebay, Debit Card and Bank if anything goes wrong. In 15 years I have very few problems and those I have had resolved fast , if seller is a problem, paypal or ebay step in and refund and I just dont use those sellers, I also like the fact that you can check how good the seller are buy feed back, So I never buy from anyone with less the 99.0 % satisfaction. I think that we as a society have become more self centred and poverty and grief, if we don't actually SEE it, becomes "out of sight and out of mind". We have been conditioned over the past 20 months or so to fear one another because we might "catch" something and because of this fear for our own health and our family's health we don't go up to someone and ask them if they're OK or if there's something we can do for them preferring to do, as I believe one of the Health Officials for government stated "don't stop and talk to anyone, just do what you have to and go home", something I thought was atrocious at the time and still do. If we lose our humanity then who cares if we get sick or not! Our isolation has not only caused the suicide and raging mental health crisis we now have in our country and around the world but a pandemic of loneliness. More people, not less, will be mourning this Christmas and, for them, I pray that Christmas passes quickly. We all have a choice to make as to whether we shut the curtains and keep out the world or do we contribute in whatever way is possible for us and help at least one human being today? Choice is ours!

Well, if the parent had actually paid for the 4 year old to join, then if you had any extra gift bags, sure, why wouldn't you give the uninvited kid a gift bag? She did pay for them to join in. But she cant expect you to have extra if she did not inform you with enough preparation time. I honestly thought this was already happening. We are eventually going to run out of space for graves in our cemeteries, as interesting as it is seeing the historical graves from over 100 years ago it may come down to those sites needing to be reused... More and more people seem to be opting for cremation nowadays however, so maybe it won't be as big an issue as predicted... Cemeteries may well become more for those that are religiously inclined. Yes and two years later am still waiting to see any of it. Yes, I think the customer service definitely has declined when I tried to get hold of Vodafone to sort out some problems. I was put on hold every time when I called its call centre and I had to wait for 45 minutes on one stage. They seem to enjoy transferring me to different departments and promising the next department will help me. I ended up having to speak to 4 different people in one occasion and I was told different stories by those 4 people. There are no email addresses to contact Vodafone. I could only use the online virtual robot option and eventually it still requested me to call the same toll free phone number that I could never get help with. The problems were never solved and I have given up.

It's the same here in Australia too. There is a closed down school near us with a house all boarded up. Yet there are people screaming out for some where to live, homelessness has gone through the roof. It's just a waste and because no one is using the school it is going down hill at a great rate of knots. There's even a tennis court, why couldn't some government department turn the old school into some accommodation for the needy even if it is only a temporary fix. At least it would be being used again instead of rotting away before our eyes. The owners of any run down building or premises should be made to clean them up. My parents had a vacant block in Brisbane and Dad used to get letters from the council to clean it up and people used to dump stuff on it. I remember helping them clean it up and I fell over some tyres that some body had dumped there. They ended up selling the land because they received a good offer on it and it then saved them from having to maintain it too. So where is the fairness letting other people get away with not maintaining their properties? I guess letters don't get passed on to the owners but after a certain amount of time has lapsed surely there is more they can do.

I can kind of relate to what your asking because, at some point in the near future, I will be in a similar one, one in which my OWN children and my father, if I told him beforehand, would strongly oppose! I am one of 2 children and I'm the oldest by almost 2 years. Now I had my 5 kids early in life and my brother and his wife were in their mid to late 30's before they decided to become parents. When his youest child was just 10 my brother died in a vehicle crash at age 53. At that point he cut off his relationship with his grandchildren, my brother's children. I believe this was due to him hating my ex SIL as she had ended their marriage, but they were not yet divorced. I had to tell my father that my brother was dead, which was horrible, but it was NOT my SIL's fault that my brother chose to speed up the highway at 150 kms per hour as he was heading to see a woman that he had recently begun seeing. He still lived in a caravan on the property he owned with his current wife and it was VERY amicable and my SIL was aware of the woman my brother was going to see and she herself had begun a new relationship. This is important for the next part of the story. My brother had mental health problems throughout his life and my SIL had been extremely supportive and did everything she could to help him. Consequently she did a LOT of the parenting over the years. But when my father heard about their relationship ending he developed a hatred towards her because she was already in a relationship with a friend of theirs and after the actual funeral service, before his own grandchildren could come out and see him, he left. After that point he cut them off financially and hasn't seen them since before the death over 4 years ago. My father's Will now states that I get everything when he dies. Now this would be great for me as I don't own a home of my own and I could buy one, but it's NOT right and my intention is to go against my father's wishes and divide the Estate in 2, giving my neices and nephew what they would have been entitled to had their father not died. I have no problem using bamboo cuttlery because being a plant it should dispose quicker than plastic. I dont taste any bamboo on the cuttlery and if you dobt enjoy using put a set of cuttlery from your homes to use. That way you can take then home to be wasged abd put back in your vehicle for the next time it is needed. That way you cab have the best of both worlds. Just a thought

Crops are failing due to inclement weather either drowning the plants or drought drying them out. Water is and will continue to be restricted for farming and even the growing of rice, a stable food item on the menu of billions of people all around our planet isn't forgotten by the architects of this intentional disaster. There IS a war on food and if you and your loved ones WANT to eat in the years to come you MUST make ready now before supply slows and rationing becomes widespread. Experienced all the big quakes in Christchurch 2010/2011. The 7.1M/depth 10km in 2010 was at 430am. When my children were pre-teens my husband was very often away, often for months at a time with the RAN so I ruled my home with an iron rod. If I hadn't my life would have been hell. They were children and had rules and rarely needed to be punished. There was no acting up or swearing, they were allowed out to play but had a time that they had to be home. I really didn't ever have a problem with any of them and they were church goers. They are all married now with children of their own, they were never in any trouble, didn't do drugs and were not drinkers. They also stayed at home until they married which was late in their 20"s. My mother always said I had turned my sons into sooks but their wives tell me a did a brilliant job with them. Because dad was usually not here my boys were quite close to me and were always very helpful to their mum. One rings 2 or 3 times a week for a chat.

I would give some to my family and keep a bit for myself, but what I would really love to do with the money would be book tickets for Brisbane and visit Australia Zoo :D Also I would donate lots of the remaining money to their Wildlife Hospital and conservation work

I am not entirely sure what to make of little Greta...the things she says are valid and somebody has to be saying them....she looks like an angry little gnome....and considering her age...and that English is also her second language...her vocabulary and ability in structuring her sentences clearly demonstrate that she a tiny genius with a mental age of around 25....or someone else is writing all her material and isn't that good at it.... it at least needs to sound like she wrote it....

Just who is responsible for this big rise in Inflation? The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) must think the blame rests on those on middle, low and fixed incomes for it is they whom the RBA is punishing. Yes, the Australian Bureau of Statistics shows that people are spending more for the Retail Figures have gone up. What the RBA does not seem to understand is that Retailers have been Increasing Prices - with, on average, the Supermarkets recording a 21.7% INCREASE in their Prices! So, of course, the Public are spending more BUT are they actually Buying More or is it simply that they are buying the same amount, or less, but paying 21.7% more for it? The Big4 Banking Cartel and, to a lesser degree the smaller Banks, Credit Unions etc. have steadfastly refused to pass on Interest Rate Increases to Depositors but have wasted no time in Increasing Interest Rates against those who have borrowed money from them! At the same time when the RBA Reduces Interest Rates, the BIg4 Cartel - all of whom make well in excess of $AU6 billion, post Tax, profits - immediately move to Reduce Interest rates to Depositors but drag their heels for Months in reducing the Interest rate they charge Borrowers. The Federal Government should pass Legislation making it mandatory that every Increase/Decrease in Interest Rates is passed on In Full to both Depositors and Borrowers and that they do it within 7 days of moves by the RBA. They entire Financial System is now based on one thing: GREED and Greed leads to Corruption.

Isn't the problem today that people want their McMansion, a huge house with 6 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, 3 car - they must, of course, be BMWs, Mercedes 4WDs - Garages, the obligatory Pool, Top-of-the-range BBQ, A kitchen with the latest hi-tech, most expensive equipment, a den, an office, a rumpus room, a formal lounge or two. Yes, you can have all trhat straight away IF you win Lotto but you know that is in all probability not going to happen. Our parents started Small and gradually over the years moved into, if not bigger, certainly better houses. Today's younger people want, no they Need, Instant Gratification, they think they are Entitled to it - despite not having the money to pay for it. As we have seen in Australia, and reportedly overseas as well, there was a huge spike in the price of houses in recent years, Interest Rates were low, and Yes, Australia's Reserve Bank told us that they would remain low until at least 2024 which was wrong but it was inevitable they would start to go up sometime. Young people kept on borrowing huge amounts of money without giving a thought to the future. They wanted and "Must Have" everything. Interest Rates started to rise and have kept rising. House Prices are dropping, wages are remaining stagnant and now people are in trouble. Their houses are now worth less than what they owe the banks, eventually people won't be able to keep up the payments, the banks will foreclose and then what? People will start demanding that "The Government does something". I make no apology for writing this, but people have brought this on themselves. Greed and Self-Gratification are now the God Kings.

Being together without contention and not having to be doing something special to have good, quality time with your family. It's the little things that matter most. Sure doing activities is great. But it isn't a prerequisite to quality time with family. Just be....and appreciate each other.

I quite like the short surveys about new product or advertisement concepts, they usually pay reasonably well. Also the Red surveys usually give me 30 points compensation when screened out.

I'm not impressed by them. You still have to make the cars and that involves the usual stuff. You have to generate more electricity to accommodate the increase in electric cars and of course outlets all over the place. I guess we need the cons and negatives to really understand if there are any actual benefits. Of course, the world is probably running out of oil so this could be the impetus to change the fuel. My car is 20 years old and I just had it serviced and checked and it is in good nick. Mind you I have not even reached 70000ks yet so I do not drive much and most of those k's were in the first 10 years. lol

It is a common term of politeness but I do struggle to come up with more than "Good thanks And yourself ?" But I do find the greeting between blokes The "Hey how they hangin ? " A tad harder to reply to

I'm not slim and don't try to be. Overweight but at my age why worry. I can get around, play bowls and am mobile. Better than many 80 year olds.

Perfection is a personal ideal. You can be a better version of yourself without having to be better than others. Better isn't necessarily perfect, but it's the best I've got.

Maybe there are more people now than there used to be. I have no idea how people can afford to take their families when everyone says how poor they are! Secondly, nothing is the same the second time. I lived in Sydney for six months with my fiancée, and it was a wonderful time. I know if I went back, it would never be the same. Besides, we're divorced now. I went back to where I was raised, and all I did was cry because all my memories of being a kid weren't there. Everything had changed! It's best to keep old memories and make new ones!

As its 19 years to the day since my own dear mother died from breast cancer at the young age of 62, I would agree that existing products such as the one referred to SHOULD be made available. There's a lot of government money spent on utter nonsense that surely funding should be made available to save many, many women just like my own mum. Thanks for reading.

My sister and I were the closest of friends but she passed a couple of years ago. I have a couple of neighbours I am friendly with and can ask for help within reason but not the same closeness. I agree, if you are not in a social circle it is hard to make friends. Some of the older people go out and about but I am a bit of a home body mainly and I really cannot stand being with a lot of people anyway.
